Tim Drake is used to camera flashes, screaming reporters, press conferences, and barrages of questions. Red Robin is not.
He steps up to the microphone, the crowd goes silent as he clears his throat.
“As you all know Batman and his associates have released a series of documents known as the Epstein files.” He turns timidly to Nightwing and Batman who are stood to the left of him.
“Many are asking what our plan is now that this information is released and why we chose to make it public.”
“5 years ago Slade Wilson, known publicly as the contract killer Deathstroke, took Nightwing hostage and forced him to work for him as an assassin.”
The crowd is in uproar again, reporters scrambling to the barricades to question Nightwing.
Dick stares forward as if blind to the mob, and deaf to the questions hurled by the strangers before him.
“ While we traced his location I made the connection that Slade Wilson was in a heavily guarded online document and hacked into it in order to gain information. I realized later those documents were the Epstein files.”
“We still do not know Slade Wilson’s location but in light of this new information felt responsible to educate the public, which is why these files have been released.”
The body won’t be found by anyone. Jason made sure of that.
Tim feels Batman’s stare through the cowl and sighs heavily as he steps back from the podium to make way.
“The justice league is in the process of combing through these documents and will begin the process into incarceration for every person responsible for these heinous crimes. I can personally attest that if any Gothamite is found to be related to Jeffery Epstein’s ring they will be taken in and given the harshest punishment legally possible.”
As the three vigilantes make their way off the stage there is an explosion of questions and flashes of cameras but they don’t stop once before they get to the Batmobile. Tim looks up at the rooftop as they drive away and watches the flash of Red dart across.
He may be sticking with Bruce on this but legality won’t be stopping the RedHood. And Jason has his hit list.
