Summary
"Near didn’t particularly know what was coming, though he assumed that it would be Matt bringing some kind of food. Whether it would actually be soup from the dining hall or a half-eaten energy bar was anyone’s guess. However, a possibility that Near did not account for was that he would return a few minutes later with a certain someone in tow."
-
Near has a migraine and intends on spending the evening in his dark room. But Matt and Mello refuse to let him spend Christmas alone.

Misa's memories come back to her when she digs up the Death Note, along with some other revelations.
I love dark obsessed Misa who needs help, rather than the power to kill people.

Summary
“Why keep your souls on the outside like that?” Ryuk asks. What a brat. He knows full well that this is one of the few topics Light is likely to indulge him in. He must be especially bored if he’s prodding like this.
“They say it’s the great equalizer.” Light says, only looking up when he sees a flash of white that means Aki’s hopped onto his desk. He rolls his chair back so she can curl up on his lap, ready for him to stroke her fur while he thinks. “Everyone, rich or poor, young or old, criminal or saint, has a soul. And we can all see each other’s souls. Some people think it’s the universe’s way to keep us honest. After all, there’s no way to mask a daemon.”
Ryuk laughs. The corner of Light’s mouth twitches up. What a joke. No way on earth, maybe.

Summary
As the pride and joy of his matchmaking company, Mello has always triumphed in his hypercompetent, individualistic working style. So, to say that he’s dismayed at upper management’s newly enforced buddy system would be an understatement. Worst of all: Mello has no idea how his eclectic partner even landed the gig. The guy has just about nothing to say 90% of the time and his occasional quips drive Mello up a wall, his lack of social decorum would put a band of monkeys to shame, and most infuriating of all: he has absolutely zero sense for the romantic.
