At least the puppy hadn't ended up here, too, nor any of the genin, and she'd been done with all of the medical work that required an expert. All she needed to do, here and now, was to look after herself. Either she'd find her way home, or someone would find her.
The first step was figuring out where 'here' actually was. She was almost certain it wasn't the part of Wave that she knew; the smell was wrong. And the plants were wrong for Tea.
Actually, the first step was getting herself above the high water mark. Having her campsite start floating away when the tide came in was a genin-Sakura been-there-done-that.
Kakashi-sensei had laughed himself sick. He'd deliberately timed making camp for a late evening low tide and had them in an area where camping under or in the trees meant dealing with briars and burrs.

Summary
Having grown up a werewolf, Steve was used to dealing with his heats. Sure, he'd been handling them by himself, always left home alone while his parents went out of town to give him space. But he knew what to expect. That hadn't changed now that he was an adult living on his own.
What had changed was that now he had a pack (of humans, but still his) who weren't willing to let him go through his heat alone.
