This is a re-write of Disney's Star Wars Sequel Trilogy that reimagines the entire trilogy from the ground up. I wrote this as a serious, thoughtful work, fully intended to replace the Sequels in my mind (and for anybody else who was disappointed).
The original characters - Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, the droids, Lando, and others - are all here. However, I completely reimagined the trio from the Sequels.
In place of Rey, we have Kira (using the original name for that character). Unlike Rey, she's a Padawan who is about to take her Jedi Trials.
In place of Finn, we have JX-3846, a Chiss Soldier from a mysterious paramilitary force whose mission is to run cover for a mysterious dark Jedi.
In place of Poe, we have Kit, the daughter of Wedge Antilles, and protoge of Han Solo, working in Republic Intelligence investigating mysterious anomalies across the Outer Rim.
I've divided the Ben Solo/Kylo Ren character into two characters. Ben Solo is a Jedi, enamored with his legacy despite growing up in privilege and safety. The Kylo Ren character became Veryx, a dark Jedi who leads the Knights of Ren.
The antagonist has also changed, and I promise you that it isn't "somehow Palpatine returned."

Ten months after the Battle of Crait, the Last Jedi and the Supreme Leader of the First Order have kept their bond tightly shut, allowing the seeds of their mutual rejection to blossom into hurt and anger. When the location of the Resistance base is revealed, Rey must make the ultimate sacrifice: the lives of her allies and friends, in exchange for yielding her freedom to the First Order, indefinitely.
But new threats soon lead to the discovery that Rey cannot draw lines between the Dark and the Light as easily as she once thought, and blur the boundaries between hatred, lust, and—eventually—a deeper bond than neither she nor Kylo Ren could have ever conceived of.
