Bio
A long-time fan who discovered slash in the mid-LJ era. I joined OTW during the first donation drive and have been a member ever since. I'm mostly a lurker who reads a lot. Occasionally I bind my favorite fanworks, especially if I want to rec them to my IRL family.
On AO3 I have two collections, which you are encouraged to post suitable works to.
- Fanfic as Science Fiction and Fantasy: Fanfic, even of SF canons, is a different genre than SF, but some fanwork also falls into genre SF proper. This collection is for works that are good SF, as defined by a lit-sf fan, particularly in the "Literature of Ideas" sense. Thought-provoking and mind-expanding, whether worldbuilding, explorations of alien or robot perspective, or getting canon's science right.
- Fanworks in Translation (Nirvana in Fire): A central location to find many wonderful English translations of NiF fanworks, since tagging is inconsistent between fan translators.
