"Namjoon" a voice called softly, "wake up" Jimin giggled seeing his sleepy and confused state.
"Go 'way Jiminie" the older replied groggily, hiding his head under the bedsheets.
"Jinnie said you wanted to go hiking today" Jimin reminded him, sitting on the bed.
"No wan' " Namjoon replied, turning the other way, "Cold"
Jimin was taken aback by his response, the high pitch in the leader's voice signalling he was in his headspace.
"Joonie, are you little right now?" Jimin asked softly, smiling encouragingly.
Namjoon blushed a bit and nodded, squealing a little when Jimin tickled him.
"Want me to get your Dada?" He asked, receiving another nod in response.
Jimin then padded into the kitchen, telling Jin the news and substituting him on breakfast duty.
When Jin walked into the rapper's bedroom, Namjoon was almost asleep again.
"Dada?" He mumbled in that adorably high voice of his, turning around to lay on his tummy. Jin laughed at his bedhair and sleepy expression.
"Yes, darling, it's me" he smiled, fighting the urge to lay down with him. He knew that if he did, he would fall asleep and never find the will to get up again.
"Cuddle wif Dada" the younger whined, cuddling against Jin's arm.
"Baby, you know we can't" Jin pouted.
"Joonie sleepy" the other one protested.
"I know, love, but if you sleep more now you won't be able to fall asleep tonight" he replied. And he knew Namjoon could get extremely grumpy when he didn't get enough sleep at night.
Namjoon huffed and climbed clumsily in his Dada's lap. Even if they didn't lay down they could still cuddle, right?
Jin awed internally and hugged his babyboy.
"Let's get dressed in something warm, alright?" he cheered, gently sitting the leader on the bed and moving towards his drawer.
"Wan' Dada's" Namjoon demanded in a small timid voice. Jin turned around, furrowing his eyebrows.
"My what?" he asked. The younger pointed to his sweater. "Alright, I'll get you one of my sweaters" Jin smiled, ready to head for his room when Namjoon made a disappointed noise.
"Dada!" He whined, pointing again to Jin's sweater. The vocalist then understood Namjoon wanted exactly that sweater, the one with shades of baby blue.
He sighed and laughed, though taking the sweater off not minding the cold and helping Namjoon out of his pajamas.
"You're so spoiled, I swear" he fake complained, shivering lightly in the chilly room. Namjoon giggled and smiled contently at the warmth the sweater gave him. And it smelled like his Dada, so that was even better.
"So, what do you wanna do, babyboy?" Jin asked, picking him up. He hoped to distract the boy by asking him questions so he would eat breakfast. He was a very picky eater when in his headspace, Jin had discovered.
Namjoon's face lit up.
"Crabbies" he requested, pushing lightly against Jin's face so that he could look at him in the face, "pwease?"
Firstly, Jin couldn't simply say no to those wide eyes and pouty lips. Secondly, whatever helped him eating his breakfast was fine with him. Health first, right?
What Namjoon was referring to, was a certain documentary series about crabs which aired every morning. His irrational love for crabs, which in his little space only intensified, was enough to keep his eyes glued to the screen and let Jin feed him whatever he wanted.
This is why, when Jimin handed the hyung a plate with already chopped up apple, Namjoon didn't throw a tantrum. He knew that to see his beloved crabbies, he'd need to behave.
Jin then sat on the couch with a still sleepy Namjoon in his lap, wrapped in his sweater while sucking on his thumb through his adorable sweater paws. As the tv turned on, Jin gently removed the younger's thumb from his mouth and started feeding him pieces of the apple.
Initially, the rapper's face scrunched up in disgust but as soon as he heard the familiar opening tune, he became hypnotized by the tv show and could care less about the yucky apple.
Honestly, nobody knew how his fixation with crabs had started. Sure, Namjoon liked them already since predebut, but from simply finding them cute to waking up every single person in the house in a hurry because his crab documentary was starting and he couldn't work the remote in his little space, was another thing.
They all guessed it was just one of those quirks kids tend to develop and obsess on, plus it was cute so they didn't mind.
"Cwabbies" Namjoon whispered in awe with wide eyes as said animals appeared on the screen.
"Yeah, babyboy, those are crabs. You like 'em?" Jin chuckled stroking gently and fondly his hair, pretending not to know about his love for crabs just so the little could explain everything he knew all over again. It was quite a good system, because Namjoon didn't seem to notice and got to get excited and feel proud of his knowledge every time, while Jin got to see his happy little babyboy babble away. And if that's not the cutest thing, Jin doesn't now what is.
Jin just hummed in agreement every now and then, looking down at his baby and loving how carefree and genuinely happy he looked.
"Good wording Joonie, now I'm too an expert on crabs" he laughed hugging him, the leader's eyes literally beaming at the praise.
"Dada like?" he asked pointing towards the television, a slight frown on his face.
It was normal for Namjoon to sometimes get a bit defensive or insecure, especially in his headspace. Perhaps he felt the need to be liked just as he did in his normal idol life, so seeking reassurance and praises was his nature. Thankfully Jin was ready to provide that.
