Chapter Text
"Can't you just give me one chance?"
That was the sentence uttered by the girl, eyes looking up, fixed on the guy in front of her. She swallowed once, almost keeping her breath in fear of not catching his answer.
The guy was at a loss for words, bringing his hand up to scratch behind his head as he thought how to formulate his answer.
"I am sorry, I just do not see you like that" he finally replied, smiling slightly in hopes he put the girl down nicely.
"I see" was her answer, eyes half closing as she swallowed the 'why' which threatened to jump out of her mouth. Pools of unshed tears formed in her eyes, but she smiled right back at him, hoping he would not see behind the sadness of her smile. And just as her first tear fell down her cheek, she looked up at the retreating back of the guy she loved.
"And CUT! That was perfect. The tear at the end was a perfect addition to the scenario. Well done, NamJoon. You did great for a first timer at acting Y/N. Keep it up for the next scenes, all of you. You can have a break until we prepare the next scenes" the loud voice of the director boomed around the set. Everyone cheered at the compliments and beamed at the two people in the middle of all.
The guy smiled broadly and bowed to the director before being assaulted by the make-up girls and other people, all complimenting him or just giving him tips on what to do next.
The girl shyly bowed her head to the director before slipping outside through the door at the back, leaning against the wall as she looked up at the sky.
Placing her hand on her chest, she tried breathing in and out as she let the emotions from the part she acted all out.
'Even though it was all acting, it still hurts. Especially since my heart took it as real, the part where he rejected me really hurt' she thought, sighing out loud as her mind went back to the time where she first realized she had a crush on him. ' It has been over a year now. A year since he has not left my thoughts or dreams. And here I am, face to face with him, and I had to act like I like him and then get my heart broken. Maybe if I really pretend it was for real, I can move on. After all, I was rejected, right?' she asked her own thoughts, hoping they might have an answer and a way to forget about her feelings and the pain they brought at this exact moment.
As she was staring blankly at the sky, she did not even realize the sky turned dark, threatening to break down into a heavy rain. Before she could realize it, the tear which slipped down her cheek mixed with the first drop of rain, both sliding down her reddish cheeks, the cold drop of rain slightly warming up as it mixed with the tear.
"Hey, are you ok?" a voice brought her from her thoughts, partially scaring her. Turning to see who was there with her, she finally felt the cold wind on her cheeks, and she was glad for the chill it brought to her body, as her crush was standing right next to the open door, looking at her with a small smile. Her traitorous heart skipped a beat right after it agreed they would treat that fake rejection as real so they could move on from this crush; and yet, here it was, pumping blood through her body faster than adrenaline.
She slightly shook her head to come back to her senses before smiling back at him " All good, just too many feelings after standing in front of the camera for the first time. I am trying to keep myself calm" she laughed at herself, eyes practically closed and her mind screaming at her to run away as fast as possible.
The guy nodded in understanding before finally looking at the darkening sky, commenting "Hope the rain will wait until we all get home to come down on us"
"Rain?" the girl questioned and for the first time she looked properly at the sky and noticed the angry, dark blue of the sky, accompanied by the chilly wind, finally noticing she is cold and the warm air from the inside would be a lot better for her health than standing outside, pitying herself.
"We should head in and finish everything quickly if we really want to get home before the rain" she replied in answer to his comment. 'Though the weather practically fits my mood, I really want to finish this and just go home and sulk in front of my music stereo' she thought to herself.
"Especially since I did not bring an umbrella" she whispered to herself, slightly smiling at the guy as he kept the door open for her to go in and then followed her in.

"Here, you can use my umbrella"
The girl was not expecting to hear those words just as she was exiting the building. A large, black umbrella was blocking her way of exit though, and as she followed both the umbrella and the voice of the holder, she saw him, her crush holding it towards her with a smile.
She blinked, and blinked, and blinked. Her mind was blank and she did not understand how she got in this situation. One minute she was calculating how fast she would have to run through the heavy pouring rain to get to the bus station which was ten minutes away from her workplace; the other minute she was standing face to face with her crush and he was offering her his umbrella. Her heart was having a field day just from that little gesture, and her mind just could not figure anything out.
'Ok, take a deep breath in and do not overthink it. He is just being nice...though I would have liked him to not notice me. After all I am trying to get over this crush, and here he is, being nice and doing this kind of thing. Ugh, whyyyyy?' she lamented to herself, before taking a deep breath and turned to him, fully convinced she would reject his offer
"I heard you outside when we had our break. That you did not have an umbrella with you." he quickly said before she could answer, and smiled as he somehow slid closer to her, putting the umbrella into her hands, then letting go and turning to look at the p ouring rain "I would give you a ride, but we have to go to another place which is the opposite way from where you are going, so sadly that is not an option. But you can use the umbrella to make sure you do not catch a cold, right?" he explained himself before he ran towards a white van parked not far from the entrance, waving at her from the car as they left, leaving her too shocked to even answer, let alone wonder how he knew where she lived and how she got there.
