Chapter Text

Could all Hero course students in years 1, 2 and 3 please meet in Auditorium Omega in 20 minutes? Thank you!” Nezu’s voice carried through the PA system of UA.

The class of 1-A all looked around at each other in confusion, their gazes turning to Aizawa as he sighed and stood up while cracking his neck.

“They’re finally letting you guys know? Right as I was about to fall asleep as well..” he mumbled the last part while trudging over to the door of the classroom.

“Sensei, is this about why Ishiyama-sensei, Power Loader and Ectoplasm-sensei have been gone for the past two months?” Yaoyorozu asked her teacher as she stood up along with the rest of the class, Iida trying to form everyone into a single-file line as they filtered out the door.

“What Nezu’s about to tell you all is the reason they’ve been gone, yes.” Aizawa said, walking behind his class to make sure none somehow deviated from their path.

Within ten minutes the entirety of Class 1-A found themselves within the large Auditorium, a mere 20 students out of a total of 70 over all three year levels. Izuku looked around and smiled and waved when he caught the gaze of Mirio Togata, the tall blonde smiling and waving back. He then saw Nejire Hadou bouncing up and down next to Mirio and waving animatedly as well, his smile a little more shaky but definitely still cheerful as he shyly waved back. Say what you will about Nejire, Izuku definitely liked her, but she was also very pretty; and Izuku could fight people like Overhaul all day, but a pretty girl was still his greatest kryptonite.

“Hello Students!” Principal Nezu happily cheered while standing on the podium situated on the stage “Its me! Principal Nezu! What am I? Am I a bear? A mouse? Who knows!” Nezu cackled cheerily, getting the odd chuckle from the seventy students seated in front of him “Now I’m sure many of you are wondering why you’ve been called here today. Well it also has to do with why our dear Ectoplasm, Power Loader and Cementoss have been absent for the past two months!” Now that got the students excited “With the retirement of our Symbol of Peace, All Might, us here at UA and many other Hero schools have been trying to develop way to make sure all of you are ready to combat the new wave of Villainy to the best of your ability! With this in mind, I introduce all of you to the first UA vs Shiketsu High interschool war!” All the chattering and muttering slammed to an instant halt at the declaration, a screen behind the principal turning into a map of a long island.

Izuku felt his eyes widen, his green orbs staring at the Principal in confusion. But, unbidden to even him, his mind began to churn, grinding through the possible meanings of everything he’s said so far. He felt himself leaning forward in intrigue.

“The battle will be between both schools. It will take place on Iturup Island, North of Hokkaido. It’ll last for a week. The reason Cementoss, Power Loader, and Ectoplasm have been absent is that for the past two months they have been building Cities and settlements on the island along with members of Shiketsu faculty and other Pro Hero’s!” The muttering and shocked whispers begun anew.

“They’ve been creating Cities!?” One second year student stage whispered to their friend.

There was something to be said about how much money UA had, if even after a year and a half at this school, a student could still get so surprised by them throwing it around.

“There’s three Cities in total! Capital city, the northern most city on the island! It’s the second largest of the three cities! It’s also the one that is the most effected by reputation changes!” On the map, a red star was placed at the north side of the map and a red line over the land to show its ‘territory’. “Might City, the southern most city on the island! It’s the largest of the three cities! This is arguably the most important of the three Cities! It holds the most objectives for the Villain team, the most ‘special’ locations, and the most valuable and important ‘people’!” Nezu gestured to the map as a star appeared, shortly followed by its boundaries on both sides of the City “And finally, Specs City, named after my own Quirk!” Nezu chittered happily at that little tidbit “It is by far the smallest City, but also the most densely populated! And the reason it was named after my Quirk is because this city is the technological and trading center of the island!” And the final star appeared, its red line soon appearing after it.

Izuku studied the map, desperately wanting to know more details. Topography, population, culture? Those questions swirled around his head like a particularly violent hurricane, demanding answers despite not having any means to satiate them.

“And I will now hand the spotlight to Eraserhead! Oh! But first. We have decided that Shiketsu will be the Hero team and UA will be the Villain team!” And with that bombshell dropped, the Principal handed the mic to the glaring Pro Hero and jumped off the podium right as the chaos started.

“We’re the villains!?”

“Why would you do this!?”

“What did we ever do to you!”

Twing!

Gleaming crimson eyes stared down the whole room, many students faltering at the sudden emptiness they felt at having their Quirk disabled.

Silence.” He hissed, the command being just above a whisper but seeming to hold the power of All Might himself.

He waited a second before closing his eyes and allowing everyone’s Quirks to return to them. His shaggy black hair falling back down as gravity was once again allowed to influence it.

“It is as Principal Nezu said. UA will be the Villain’s team. This was not done purposefully. So, calm down. Now, the Hero’s side is being lead by their Paragon: Chu Ryosuke-“

“Ne, ne. Mirio-kun. Isn’t that your rival from Shiketsu?” Izuku heard Nejire ask Mirio who quietly nodded, a small smile playing at his lips.

“-and you will all be lead by your Kingpin: Togata Mirio.” Cheers exploded through the students before Shouta shut them all up again “Now, each of you take one of these.” He held up a fairly thick, dark red, leather book “These are the rule books and contain every rule created for this event. If you think something even may be a violation, you ask a teacher, understand?” Everyone confirmed their understanding in varying ways as they passed the books around “Good, you will have a month of preparation time and the actual event will last for a week. Also every Hero foundation class and every Friday will be given to you to be used for your prep time. That is all, I will now allow Mirio to say whatever he would like.” All the teachers began to file out of the room.

Shouta walked over to Mirio as he began walking down the steps and handed him a thick folder “That contains files on all the UA students and their Quirks. I expect you to use it wisely” He said before walking out of the Auditorium, now leaving only the three years of students inside.

Mirio idly flicked the pages as he walked down and approached the podium. Once he reached it he placed it down on the podium and leaned towards the microphone.

“Hello everyone! This has all been a little abrupt. But if we could all please meet here again tomorrow during Hero studies, ill have some basic team compositions and ideas ready for everyone.” Mirio then struck a flexing pose “POWWWEERRRRR!!”

A few students laughed at Mirio’s silly display as everyone got up to leave, Izuku standing up while flicking over a page in the book; his green eyes practically blurring inside his eye sockets as he read over and absorbed the information held within. So caught up in his reading, he never noticed the fleeting glances Nejire took towards him while walking in the opposite direction to everyone else. Tamaki following the blue haired girl as they reached Mirio who still stood in the flexing pose on the stage.

“Need any help Mirio-kun?” Nejire asked while bouncing on the spot and leaning to the side.

“Yes please” he said with a bit of a shaky voice as he snapped out of his pose “I was thinking that possibly we all split up. Have three ‘squads’ with each of us running one. Then we could have one squad per City!” He said while smacking his fist into his open palm.

“That’s a good tactical decision…” Tamaki muttered while slouched over and staring at the polished wood of the stage.

“Ooh! Ooh! Can I have Midoriya-kun! Please Mirio-kun!” Nejire begged while bouncing rapidly on the spot, her hands clasped in front of her.

Mirio gave her a knowing and only somewhat teasing smile “Of course you can have Midoriya~ Hmmm. Hey, what if each of us has one of the first years ‘Big three’? It’d help balance things wouldn’t it?”

“Uhhuh! Yup!” Nejire mumbled quickly with a large smile while nodding, her mind elsewhere.

Izuku Midoriya, in particular.

By the time she realized what had happened, she found herself sitting down in a triangle with her two closest friends as Mirio began to put the files into three piles.

“Hey Nejire?” Mirio asked.

“Yeah?”

“Would you mind taking Specs City? I think we’d benefit from having me in Might City and Tamaki in Capital City” He explained himself.

“Sure!” She chirped happily, beginning to look through her pile.

“POWEERRRRRRR!”
