Sing for the lion and lamb

Summary:

A sane man with a perfect past does not a good villain make, but not every hero is willing to question why the antagonist does what he does instead of just stopping them. George Joestar is still alive and it is not too late for Dio to choose a different path!
(Spoiler alert, he does, and both start developing romantic feelings towards each other)

Notes:

The title was inspired by this twilight song:

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

After Jonathan found out about Dio's plan, he got lost in the streets of London trying to find the antidote. Only he never gets to Ogre street, he accidentally stumbles upon the very same place Dio grew up in. The sight was horrific, to say the least, cries of starving children filled his ears, fresh snow turned brown landing upon these grounds as drunk men dressed in scraps walked past him. When Jonathan asked around for directions or if they had seen a tall blonde man with three birthmarks on his left ear wandering nearby before, an old lady, a former neighbor of Dio's overshares a little bit of what she knew about the described man and his family.

JoJo never knew what life out here was like, suddenly everything started making sense. The blonde's unreasonable hate for him, the cunning plan to take all of the Joestar fortune for himself, now it all looked to him like a desperate attempt to prove something to himself on Dio's part.

And let's just say, when Dio returned back to the Joestar mansion with a plan to kill Jonathan and abandon humanity, there was no police, there were no cuffs. Jonathan patiently waited for Dio's return and decided to go for a different approach. For that night, he saw Dio in a new light. And that Dio was something else, a cornered animal, a wounded lion, ready to tear apart anybody who gets in his way. If he was to be honest with himself, it was a rather intoxicating sight.
