Forgotten But Not Gone

Summary:

Midoriya Izuku is dead. He took Bakugou's ill-timed advice and took a swan dive off the roof of their school building, and now he is most definitely dead.

That doesn't mean he's going to leave Bakugou alone, though.

Nope, Midoriya is back and stronger than ever, with a Quirk that just seems like a cruel joke now that he has it, and him and his horrifying new look are going to haunt the shit out of the boy who helped kill him.

Notes:

READ ME!

Welcome to my newest story! This isn't going to be a proper fanfiction as far as I have it planned. It's going to be a series of notes and drabbles as I come up with new ideas, all set in the very dark universe of a dead-but-not-gone Midoriya and traumatized Bakugou.

Be aware, ALL of the tags are true. This story contains GORE, heavy angst, MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH, and mentions of both SUICIDE and SELF-HARM. If you are sensitive to any of those topics, please do not read this. And if you are ever in a bad headspace, please stop reading and make sure you're alright before you get into the angst. <3

I don't think there will be any ships, but we will see...

Take care of yourself, everyone, and I hope you like it!

Without further ado, this first chapter is an introduction. It's all my notes on the AU and what happened before the drabbles begin, so it's kinda important! Enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Midoriya Izuku died by suicide, leaping off of the roof of his school building at 5:26pm, and finally dying at 6:34pm. No one found the body until the next day, when students began arriving for school. He died a slow and agonizing death, bleeding out and suffocating with a shattered right arm that ended up beneath him when he fell, a twisted left leg which broke along his hip, knee, and ankle when he hit the ground, a crushed chest from the impact, and a split skull where his head ricocheted off the pavement. He also bit part of his tongue off when he landed. His eyes were clawed out as well, by his own doing while he lay there in agony for over an hour.

He assumed no one would miss him.

He returned as a vengeful spirit a few days later, and that’s when the killings began. There was no DNA left on the bodies from their attacker, no sign of them even being touched - it's as if they were simply mangled by nothing, and left there for no reason. Bakugou Katsuki knows what's happening - but he also knows better than to say a thing.

If he says something, he'll surely be sent to a mental hospital, and then he'll just be a sitting duck for the fate that's coming for him, wearing his childhood friend's face.
