Name: Izuku Midoriya
In this world, there are monsters.
They exist to cause torment and pain to anyone unfortunate enough to cross their path. So, humanity desperate to stay alive, trained a handful of brave warriors to fight against the rising evil, those courageous young men and women became known the first hunters. A group of people that would protect the innocent against the creatures of the night and bring peace to a chaotic world.
Or at least, that was the idea.
In this world of monsters, there is one group that reigns supreme. They command the night and can have armies of subjects under them to wreak havoc on to the world.
We call them Vampires.
Now, Vampires are a tricky group to deal with not only are they intelligent beings, considering most of them were once human, but they have added strength and durability alongside their magic, not to mention immortality.
But vampires are split into two groups, those that are bitten and those who are born; known as purebloods.
Although they are similar, there are three notable differences between the two.
One: Those that are pureblood Vampires can change others into Vampires making the bitten undyingly loyal to their leader, like a queen bee and her workers. This, however, isn't the same for the people who have been bitten, they do not possess that ability.
Two: Those that are purebloods grow up much like humans and stop growing around their 20’s but looks can fluctuate. The bitten don't grow up. Because of that, those who were transformed at a young age don't last long.
Three: The bitten give birth to humans, the purebloods give birth to vampires.
Almost two decades ago the hunter All Might came on to the scene, and nearly decimated the pureblood vampire population, and with it the bitten population, something that they haven't recovered from since.
Almost a year ago, I became a hunter in training, given the legendary power of One For All from All Might himself to fight off the rising evil of this world.
One month ago, I found out what my father was; it’s been an adjustment.
"Drink. it." The dreaded King of darkness hissed again from the opposite side of the table, a wine glass filled with dark red blood in front of Izuku.
"You drink it" The boy snapped back, pushing the wine glass filled with thick red liquid back to All for One. Wincing when the man dragged his claws along the metal table in suppressed anger, he had hardly fed Izuku for the past week in a desperate attempt to force him to buckle.
"I've had my share, you haven't" He pushed the glass back to Izuku "Drink" Izuku would do no such thing.
"I don't need it" Izuku insisted, pushing it back to All for one again "I've been fine without it all my life" he argued.
The actual reason was that he didn't want to cross the extremely distinct line in the dirt, he could live without it, he had for the last sixteen years. Izuku was very close to shoving the glass in to All for One's mouth just to shut him up.
"I know" All for One drawled before a grin split across his face "That's why you're so small" Izuku felt himself twitch as All for One slid the glass back to him "So unless you want to stay small and weak forever, you will swallow your misguided pride, and drink it" his eyes took on a cold expression.
"I don't even have fangs, so that means I can't drink it" Izuku chucked that logic at All for One's face, no fangs mean not a vampire.
"Well, if you drank it" All for One started only for Izuku to cut him off.
"No."
Silence, until someone knocked on the door.
"Sorry sir, was I interrupting something" The doctor's gruff voice echoing around the dining room.
"It was nothing, just trying to make sure my stubborn son doesn't die from starvation" All for one growled at Izuku in what had to be the most parental tone he's ever heard "dear god, you're going to be the death of me" All for One groaned.
"You're already dead" Izuku pointed out, relishing in the way his father's hand clenched and unclenched, the man wasn't dead, but it was a common myth that seemed to piss him off.
"Completely missing the point, Izuku" All for One pointed at the glass "drink" he ordered.
"No" Izuku responded. All for One ran his hand across his face and through his white hair.
"Should I leave?" The doctor asked, taking a step back, fully prepared to leave the pair to their bickering.
"No, it's fine" All for One signed before standing to his full height "Why have you come?" He asked with his usual controlled character.
The doctor's focus flickered over to Izuku for a second before settling back on to All for One. "Your guests are coming soon," the doctor informed him.
Guests? Izuku wasn't aware of any guest coming or was that just code for a shipment of human blood coming?
He almost didn't want to know which it was.
“Already?" All for One raised an eyebrow "a little bright, don't you think?" All for one hummed, looking at the grandfather clock before looking down at Izuku and the still filled glass. He swiped the glass off the table and downed it quickly "Since you decided to be difficult, you can go to bed hungry".
"Bed?" Izuku questioned looking at the clock, "but it's barely noon?" he heard the doctor give a tiny scoff, before waddling off to his lab.
"Exactly, you're lucky I let you stay up this long" He pointed in the general direction of Izuku provided room "Now, to bed young man".
"But I'm not tired" Izuku lied, he was actually very tired from dealing with All for One, but he didn't budge, All for One signed.
Without much warning, he plucked Izuku off the chair tucking him under his arm, Izuku shrieked, and attempted to pull out of the man’s hold, keyword attempted. All for one supernatural strength prevented him from moving even an inch away, and with his magic stopping Izuku from activating One for All, all Izuku could do was struggle all the way up till All for One dropped him on to his given bed.
"Bed" All for One growled, Izuku didn't move instead crossing his legs and arms in stubborn defiance. "Please Izuku, for both our sakes just go to bed" All for One almost pleaded, moving to peel back the dooner of the grand bed, in what Izuku assumed was meant to be an invitational gesture.
"Why, is it because of those guests?" Izuku probed fully expecting All for One to dodge the question, but the man surprised him.
"Yes, I don't want you to meet them" confirming Izuku suspicions on what the doctor meant, All for one gestured to the sheets underneath "So it's best if you just sleep through all of it, heaven knows what they would do if they discover you".
Izuku gulped, looking down at his hands as they knotted into the dooner.
"What would they do if they found me?" Izuku dared to asked.
All for One stared at him in cold calculation "I have no idea, but it's best we don't find out" and after that statement, Izuku felt himself get picked up and tucked into the bed all in one fluid motion.
"Hey!" Izuku protested trying to sit up, only to have All for One push him back down.
When had he gotten so weak?
"Bed" All for one repeated, Izuku just signed and rolled over, bitter that exhaustion seemed to come fast. "Have a good sleep Izuku" All for One's voice floated across the room, Izuku seeing him open the door.
"You know the most surprising thing about this whole disaster" Izuku yawned and buried his head into the pillow "Is that you don't actually sleep in a coffin".
All for one scoffed "keep that attitude up young man, and you will be" He lightly threatened but not having its usually bite, Izuku only hummed his vision fading fast.
"And you said you weren't tired" All for One distantly chuckled just as Izuku fell asleep.
The first thing that Izuku felt when he awoke was that his mouth hurt, and his tongue felt like cotton, he made a mental note to remember not to grind his teeth in his sleep and willed himself to get up to find some water before he died from dehydration. The sun had already set leaving the room pitch black, but Izuku found that he could still recognise the chamber. He glanced at the clock that was mounted to the wall, noticing the hand stationed at half-past-ten.
With no small amount of effort, he pushed himself off the bed, only to fall back down when a bout of vertigo hit him. Gripping the bed frame, he pulled himself up again, feeling like he had been squeezed like a rag.
He walked over to the door but a quick jingle of the door handle told him that it was locked.
After a tied sign, he channelled a small amount of his magic into his hand and broke the lock, under normal circumstances he might have used a different method, but he was tired. The door swung open without any resistance, and Izuku was blown with a cold breeze, he pulled his cloke off its hook before leaving the room and trailed down the hall.
Draping the cloke over his shoulder, Izuku couldn't shake the feeling he was forgetting something.
Izuku didn't know the castle that well, but he knew two things; that it was old, and that it was big. He had only managed to remember half of the castles many hallways, one of them is the way to the cellar. Apart from the stacks of blood stored away, it was also where All for One kept the water.
Something inside Izuku willed him on to find something to drink, despite the feeling like he was going to drop dead at that moment, but he had disregarded his health so much that it was a habit at this point.
As he trotted down the stairs, almost at the cellar, Izuku heard glasses clinking together and laughter. The warm sound froze him to the core as he remembered what he had forgotten.
"What would they do if they found me?".
"All for One truly has the finest selection, doesn't he? Doesn't beat the supreme leaders, of course," a man voiced from behind the door, the sound of agreement from others followed.
'Back away, go back to your room' a voice whispered in his head, as he heard what had to be three different voices chattering away, none of them sounding like the doctor or All for One.
Izuku slowly steps his way back up the stairs, his eyes never leaving the door.
"Hey, do you smell something?" A muffled voice asked Izuku gave a sharp inhale holding his breath.
"What do you smell?" A much more feminine voice, "Actually no wait I can smell it too" she added, Izuku started backing his way up the stairs quicker, he finally tore his eyes away from the door, turning to bolt only to be stopped by a well-dressed man with long black hair that stood at the top of the stairs.
"Well, what do we have here?" The man asked, and Izuku saw just the flash of his fangs. "What's a boy doing in All for One's castle?" He quired.
Behind Izuku the door to the cellar swung open, and three figures emerged from the room, two of them were dressed rather posh like, but the third one had a big coat on with a hood that hid their face.
Vampires, all of them.
"I live here," Izuku told the man, there was no way he could take them all on especially in his condition, the best thing he could do was talk his way out. "I was just...getting something to drink" he explained, his head darting between the man and the trio.
"Is that so" the gentleman with hair slicked back replied, taking a step closer, the well-dressed women next to him said nothing but seemed to be closely examining him.
"That's right, but I didn't realise you were here" Izuku gave them the most nervous smile of his life "I'll just take my leave" he explained taking another step up, but the posture of the long-haired guy on the top of the stairs screamed that he wasn't going to leave just yet.
"You smell human" The person in the coat pointed out, Izuku gave a nervous laugh but deep down he felt his fear spike.
"Do I?" Izuku swallowed. "Are you sure it isn't just... garlic?" he suggested hoping to make them laugh, but his humour was terrible, and they were not amused.
"Smells human to me" the man with the slicked-back hair replied, a wicked smile playing on his face. "And you must know what we do to humans?" everyone except the well-dressed woman -who just stared more intensely- chuckled.
Izuku reared up to run, but then, the well-dressed woman suddenly started walking up the stairs much to everyone surprise, and clasped Izuku face, prying his mouth open.
Had his reflexes not been totally out the window, he would have had jerked his head back.
"AHHH" she squealed, "I thought I saw those!" she exclaimed, turning to her other associates, well her fingers remained in Izuku mouth "He's got fangs" she exclaimed.
"Wait, what?" Izuku thought as he tore away his mouth from the ladies prying fingers.
He slowly ran his tongue across his top teeth and felt the unmissable sharp bump of his canines, some small part of him wanted to pinch himself just in case this was some morbid nightmare, but a more logical thought told him that if he was looking human that he would probably be dead.
"Really? well, I'll be damned" The man with slicked-back hair hummed moving up the stairs to join his associate, bringing Izuku face into his owns hand and pulling up his lip to reveal his teeth again. "They are rather small, but good catch Curious" the women, Curious, smiled.
Izuku ripped his face away "Stop that" he hissed, and that made the women coo.
"He smells like a human though" The overcoat person pointed out staying in their spot. "He must have been bitten, shame the young never last long" they muttered.
"I don't think he's been bitten, Geten" the long-haired man had crept up from behind him, long fingers tugged the cloke away revelling his bare neck, Izuku whipped around, snarling.
"I said stop that" he snapped.
"You know I think your correct sceptic, I don't think he has been bitten" the greasy hair guy pointed out, a smile playing on his lips "Is it me or does he look like someone" Geten silently tilted their head in confusion.
Curious gasped "No, you're not thinking that" the women exclaimed and suddenly Izuku had four pairs of eyes fall on his short frame. "Are you, by any chance, All for One's child".
Izuku wished he just stopped existing.
He gulped, weighing if he should tell the four that he was All for One's son or to lie and say no. "Yes..." he hesitated "My names Izuku Midoriya" he added in the hopes that it would make him look less like lunch to them.
Curious squealed looking like she was about to cry "We got another one!" she exclaimed suddenly picking Izuku off the ground, much to the boy's horror.
"Put me down" Izuku blushed, failing about but the women ignored him and continued to spin him around.
"I can't believe it, we haven't gotten and actual pure blood in decades, let alone one form All for One" Skeptic mused "I heard rumours about the dark lord having a child, but I always brushed them off" he explained just as Curious put a spinning Izuku down.
"You would think he would at least announce it" the greasy hair guy stated, looking down at the boy who was struggling to stand.
Izuku came down here for a drink yet somehow had become wrapped up in four vampire’s cross-examination, some distant part of himself told him if he had just listened to All for One he wouldn’t have been in this mess, but he was lacking what most people would call, common sense.
"He smells human Trumpet" Geten growled, an atmosphere like ice.
"Oh, don't worry, you don't know what young ones are like, always hungry" Trumpet laughed "what you smell is probably just his diet more than anything". Izuku tried not to throw up at the suggestion of him drinking human blood, Geten still looked at him like they were going to kill him but didn't say anything more.
"Well, this has been, something, but I'm not supposed to be here so I'm just going to leave" Izuku slowly started to back away, but only walked into the Sceptic's arms who gave him the most chilling smile he had ever seen.
"Didn't you say you were hungry?" Sceptics asked while his hands anchored themselves on Izuku shoulders "It would be rude for us to stop you in your own home" He added.
'Water, I meant water' some part of him hissed.
"No, it's absolutely fine" Izuku argued, but Curious pulled him into the cellar with absolutely no difficulty.
"Heaven no, Young boys like you need to eat, I mean look at you" she gestured to all of him "you looked half-starved and so small" Izuku felt a part of him twitch, he gave her an impassive look still he was seated at the table in the cellar.
Trumpet was looking at the wide selection so barrels that lined the walls, each labelled with a foreign language that Izuku had only learned a few words of from All for One, but he had a feeling that they wouldn't be appropriate to say.
"So, Izuku correct" Curious asked placing her chin on folded hands, her eyes looked at him eagerly, Izuku nodded keeping an eye on the trumpet guy as he poured a scary amount of that red liquid into a very tall glass. "So how old are you?" she asked.
"Sixteen" He answered, "um, who are you?" He asked.
The women gasped and then looked sheepishly away, "I'm sorry we haven't introduced our self how rude of us" she apologised, she gestured to herself "My names Kizuki Chitose" she gave a small bow before pointing to Skeptic "that's Tomoyasu Chikazoku, the person in the coat is Geten" Geten growled while Chikazoku just gave a bow.
"My name is Koku Hanabata" Trumpet added, setting down a large glass filled with that blasted red liquid right in front of him, even All for One was more lenient with the portions he tried to give Izuku, opting for a wine glass instead of the jug that currently holds all of Izuku worst nightmare but liquid.
The pungent smell made Izuku nose twitch, and his mouth started to hurt again. 'Is this normal, why is this happening now?' he frantically pondered, looking around for any excuse to delay taking a sip.
"So, Miss Kizuki, where are you from?" He asked, looking at her with innocent eyes as he pushed the drink out of sight, she had so far been the most friendliest out of the four, so starting a conversation with her seemed like the best idea.
"Oh, we are all from Deika, it's a city our supreme leaders family created" she started in a grandiose manner "The city is home to over 110,000 citizens all of them have come to us either from clans that were wiped out during the age of All Might or those who seek power beyond what being human provides" She signed wistfully "It's home" she finished with a cat grin.
"110,000!" Izuku winced as his hands clawed into his legs, a quick glance down and Izuku felt reality slap him in the face again.
'Great, teeth and claws, just what I needed' he bit back a groan.
"That's correct" Hanabata butted in "however there are only five of us that are pure, the rest have been turned or are due to" He explained with a happy smile and a flick of his hand "but we always welcome more" he added with a smile.
Just from the few minutes, Izuku had known the man he could soundly say that he was a people guy. His whole look and movement screamed diplomat, it set Izuku on edge but relaxed him at the same time.
"What do you mean by 'due to' " Izuku asked, hoping his face didn't portray the terror he felt.
"Oh, it's magnificent, we have a ceremony and everything" Kizuki exclaimed, with a posh laugh. "You see when one of the followers has a child, they come out human, so we wait until there 21 birthday to turn them, welcoming them into the folds of our family" Izuku just nodded along but deep down some part of him was silently disturbed over the fact that people willing did that, and yet here he was wanting nothing to do with that part of his heritage.
"We used to do it at 18, but the supreme leader bumped it up to 21, but the option is still there" Chikazoku finally spoke with Geten next to him downing their jug like a pirate. "You should come to visit, we always welcome newcomers" he added with a smile that sent shivers down the boy's spine, that was the second time someone had mentioned that.
"I'll think about it" Izuku answered "It might be difficult because of All-" Izuku stopped the word from tumbling out of his mouth, realising that calling All for One by his title might not be a good idea, thus after a quick mental apology to All Might Izuku answered "My father doesn't really like letting me leave much" Izuku smiled.
There was never going to be a chance that he would ever come to Deika city, surrounded by 110,000 blood draining monsters, no chance in hell.
"Well, who knows All For One asked us to come here after all" Kizuki said, Izuku blinked in surprised, All for One asked them to come here? An unsettling feeling wedged its way into Izuku stomach as he connected the dots.
These people had an army that could rally the hunters, and with All Might having retired, if All for One got access to their army it would be D-day.
"Huh, I had no idea, he sent me to bed to avoid running into you" Izuku needed to get all the information out of the group, starting with who this supreme leader is. "So, you mentioned a supreme leader, who is he?" Izuku asked with an innocent smile.
The room went silent.
"You don't know who Re-Destro is" Geten growled.
Izuku back prickled "N-no, Can you fill me in" He stuttered feeling like he stepped on a landmine.
"The supreme leaders family created Deika city and has one of the vastest following today after All-Might nearly wiped out the population, he banded the few remaining purebloods to rebuild our population" Geten harshly explained, "What have you live under a rock for the last sixteen year?" they mocked, ready to fight him having the chance, but Chikazoku placed a hand on their shoulder.
"Now Geten I know you don't like the boy, but there is no reason to get mad" then he towered over them his eyes gain an edge "besides if I remember correctly, you didn't know who he was when you were his age a little hypocritical of you" he imitated as Geten shook, he then proceeded to tear the poor guy a new one.
"Oh boy he's at it again" Kizuki signed, before giving an odd look at Izuku, "are you alright you look half-dead?" She asked, catching Izuku chin and looking him in the eyes.
Izuku tried not to let the pun get to him as he tore his face away.
"Huh? No, I feel fine" Izuku lied, the truth was his mouth hurt, his body felt like lead, and he just got whacked in the face with the knowledge that All for One could soon have an army again. Izuku was the farthest he could get from doing fine.
"Are you sure?" She asked again, not buying his lie.
"Really I am" He smiled again.
"Well, then can I ask you a question?" Her eyes had a hungry glint to them, despite her overall appearance, feigning innocents.
"What about?" Izuku asked, feeling physically sick like he was going to give out any second, she leaned in a little closer so that the conversation was more private from the others.
"Who is your mother?" She asked with a smile, Izuku felt his stomach drop.
"No one" he blurted out to fast, the words felt ugly in his heart, her eyebrow raised in disbelief.
"Surely someone that caught All for One's eye isn't a no-one" she continued edging closer to the point where Izuku could feel her breath against his face.
'Nope, need a distraction' so Izuku did what he usually did in a situation where he didn't want to talk, he grabbed the nearest thing to occupy himself, and that was the tall glass in front of him.
Without thinking twice, he took a lavish swing, the realisation hit him like a carriage as he felt the thickish metallic tasting liquid on his tongue. He froze, unable to spit it out without causing a scene, so with a heavy heart, he drank his worst nightmare, a part of himself coiled at the feeling of the liquid travelling down his throat and another part of him was grateful that he wasn't starving.
'Forgive me All Might for I have sinned' Izuku thought, taking the jug away from his lips.
His mouth didn't hurt anymore as he placed the jug back on the table and brought his hand to wipe his mouth, a little bit of red shining on the back of his hand, he seemed better, Izuku had done something that he had never wanted to do, and he felt fine.
The world came back into focus with Hanabata telling the two to stop being rude and to sit down, and Kizuki giving him a smile.
Izuku gave a wobbly smiled, cradling the drink closer to his chest.
"So, tell me more about Deika city," Izuku asked, hoping he could at least screw All for One over in the future.
"Oh, it's magnificent, it's got a view to die for" she giggled, pulling him close, like how his mother did when he was little.
Izuku looked down at the drink in his hands, running his tongue over sharp teeth, long fingernails scraped the sides of the jug.
"Aren't you going to keep going?" Geten seethed, Izuku clutched the jug tighter.
'Well, might as well play the part ' he thought, bring it up to his lips taking another sip.
"Then it's decided" Rikiya Yotsubashi announced "We shall work together, for a brighter future" He finished off with a grin.
"That it is" Hisashi hummed walking beside the man as they travelled down the hallway, Rikiya sauntering along next to him, the whole evening had gone off without much problem. After a discussion with Rikiya generals about the logistics of the trade deal, he had offered them to go down to his cellar to drink themselves stupid, well he would finalise everything with their leader.
In reality, he had asked them to leave because there was another issue that Re-Destro might have the solution for which he was partly right.
"You have a son?" Rikiya gasped, his mouth gaping, the fireplace illuminating the area.
"Yes," Hisashi answered "A very stubborn son" he added well pinching the bridge of his nose, a part of him glad that Izuku had run himself so ragged that he actually fell asleep.
"My, that's unexpected," Rikiya hesitated "Who's the mother?"
It was a logical question, but not one he was looking forward to.
"She's is..." He hesitated thinking of Inko, long green hair, emerald eyes and pink cheeks "Human" he finished, taking a sip from his wine glass.
Rikiya's jaw dropped, "Wait so the boy's, half-human" Rikiya's blinked "I mean he wouldn't be the first but still...Most of us don't have sex with food" He added making Hisashi growl.
"Careful Rikiya" He snapped, "I'm not in the mood" he added in a low tone.
"Yes sorry, I'm just surprised, after all, why have you elected to tell me about your son," Rikiya asked with a gleam in his eyes.
'God helps me if he tries to recruit Izuku into his little cult' Hisashi silently wondered if this was worth all the trouble.
"I have a sensitive matter that I think you can help with" Hisashi started "After all if I remember correctly, the Yotsubashi family had someone similar" Hisashi dropped, making Rikiya eyes fade over for a second before a smile came back full force.
"That we did, rest his poor soul, but I fail to understand why you need my help" The orange-haired man gestured in his ever-extravagant manner.
"Because he refuses to eat" Hisashi curtly explained realising that his glass was empty, "he stubbornly refuses to indulge, and he is wasting away".
"Oh, yes, I see the problem" Rikiya hummed "so I take it he was raised human?" Rikiya smiled, but it quickly retreated at the sight of Hisashi scowling face.
"What is your advice on how to make someone not starve themselves to death" He continued, despite how annoying Rikiya could be, if there was anyone that knew how to deal with a transitioning vampire it was him. Hisashi just threw them into the deep end and see if they sink or swim.
"Hmm, well, take it slow" Rikiya answered, Hisashi gestured for him to continue "It's traumatic for some of them, some never recover fully and are left to live off pigs blood, I find just inching them into it tends to be the best way, wait for them to experience it in their own time" He finished with a satisfying nod.
"He's stubborn though, and firmly set in his ways, I don't know if it's possible to inch him into it, I've been sending him cold turkey when it comes to solid foods, but so far nothing." Hisashi signed, running a clawed hand through white hair.
Izuku hadn't eaten any solids for almost a week, but the boy hadn't budged, in fact, Izuku seemed even more stubborn not to drink anything he had given the boy, no matter how watered down or how not human it was.
'I don't even have fangs, so that means I can't drink it' Izuku had pointed out another real problem, that just seemed like cream on top of the disaster pie, Izuku was more human than a vampire, that might have been his fault, he had never told Inko what he really was, he had hoped she would have found out with Izuku but not even the boy really knew what he was.
"He doesn't have to know that you are easing him into it" Rikiya word cut through his thoughts "If he's being defiant then let him think he has won, give him back solid foods, and start from square one, It's a long process, but hey, it's worth it at the end" Rikiya gave a snake smile.
"I'll give it a try" Hisashi half-heartedly stated instead focusing his attention on the raging fireplace.
"But you know, perhaps I could meet the boy, I'm sure it could help me find the best solution" Rikiya offered, transparent as water.
Hisashi scoffed "Keep your real attentions to yourself, Rikiya, besides he's asleep".
The meeting was something that had more or less confirmed his thoughts, Izuku just wasn't ready to face his heritage, yet.
'Baby steps' Hisashi told himself 'I rushed it and made it worse'.
"We should be able to go back without much trouble" Rikiya started "Perhaps next time you can come to visit us, with you son perhaps?" Rikiya added in a prompting tone.
Like he was ever going to come to visit, there was no chance in hell.
"I'll think about it" was all he replied.
Rikiya kept going on about how great it was that there is another pureblood, despite being half-human, something he kept reassuring would fade the older Izuku got. Hisashi was keeping half an ear on the conversation, his interest in the discussion of Rikiya generals in his cellar, he was on the cusp of hearing them talk in hopes of hearing something he shouldn't.
Instead, he heard something much more disturbing.
Without a moment of hesitation, he grabbed a hold of Rikiya, rushing down the hall finding himself at the cellar in an instant, much to his associate confusion.
"All for One?" he asked in a daze, his magic having activated around his eye's out of instinct.
"Wow, that's amazing, I know someone who has a similar power!" Izuku exclaimed, in a lively tone.
Hisashi paused outside the door, glancing at Rikiya who looked like he was failing to suppress a smile "I thought you said he was asleep" he whispered.
"He's meant to be" Hisashi silently opened the door, seeing Re-Destros four generals sitting at the table, several cups resting on the table, a small mass of ice in the corner, and a what looked like a simple doll that looked like his son propped against it.
Miss Kizuki magic was making small explosions on a platform of ice, well her arm was wrapped around Izuku who was too in engrossed her enchantment to care.
"They are not very strong, but I can produce quite a lot of them" She explained boastfully.
"That's amazing," Izuku said in awe, a clawed hand moving to pick up a glass, as he was taking a sip, Hisashi decided to speak.
"I thought you were meant to be in bed?" He asked mid-sip his son looked at him and choked on his drink, he placed the jug down, coughing, and Hisashi saw just the smallest drop of red slide down the cup, his mouth split into a grin.
"Or did you get hungry" He cooed watching Izuku mouth gap like a fish, a sharp flash of teeth made his smile grow wider.
"Told you to wait for him to experience it himself" Rikiya muttered in a smug tone.
Suddenly Hisashi decided he might just pay Deika city a visit after all.
Chitose knew from the moment that she had laid her eyes on little Izuku she knew that he was human, he was too full of colour, and the smell was absolutely wafting off.
But then he smiled, and her eyes caught the teeth, and suddenly her brain went into overdrive because the boy looked almost human, he was very pale and looked sick, but he had sharp teeth, small but noticeable, and forming claws on his fingers. Plus he was roaming around All for One castle like he owned the place; no one just walked around the King of vampire castle without purpose.
Needless to say, she hadn't lost her edge in her age.
His teeth were little, almost half the length they should be, meaning one of two things. Either this boy was young, much younger then he looked, or that he was half human. But that just brought up more questions, why would a half human pureblood child be walking around All for One castle in the early night? It wasn't until Trumpet stated that he looked similar to someone did she finally connect the pieces, yes, this boy was the dark lord's offspring, but even more was that he was the offspring of him and a human!
It all made sense, why the boy smelled and looked human because half of his heritage was human, and that filled her with absolute delight, she remembered back when her own family was still alive that one or two of her cousins had been half-blooded and she always envied how they could do the things that her vampire blood stopped her from doing.
Still, Dhampir were an awkward subject at best, it had meant someone had form a union with a human, with food. But in todays world, were pure blood vampires were only in the few hundreds, perhaps it was only the next logical step in maintaining the population. Maybe that's why the boy existed, why All for One of all people would dare have a child with a human; to take that first step.
The boy was so young, only sixteen, she couldn't remember the last time she had seen a child of her own kind, half-blood or not they were so few and far between these days. Was All for One waiting for him to grow up before introducing him to the rest of the clans? was that why the child was trapped, wandering around in this mans castle? The boy seemed so lost, when he talked to them, unsure and afraid, he didn't even know who Re-Destro was!
'What in interesting case' she thought, hunger for truth growling in her head.
Her other comparands hadn't caught on chuffing his human smell up to a diet of all things, so she watched him closely and noticed how absolutely transparent he was, clearly afraid and ready to run at any time, but he had a bright, intelligent gleam in his eyes. However, he refused to drink the blood that Trumpet had gotten for him, so strange since the poor boy looked half dead, had All for one been starving the boy? No that doesn't make sense, he wouldn't have been let out if that was the case.
Perhaps the boy was sick... or maybe he was wary of blood, that would explain some of his skittish nature, and why All for One had yet to debut him; yes, that had to be the reason. So she decided to test if she could trick him in to feeding, without him knowing, she pushed the drink closer to him; the smell made his claws sharpen and his mouth water, but the boy didn't notice. some probing questions pushed the boy to become more uncomfortable, letting his fears search for security, one mention about his human mother finally pushed him over the edge. How easy it was for instincts to take over for him as he guzzle his given drink in a panic motion, body taking comfort in feeding, like a new-born with a bottle.
She internally squealed at the site, Re-Destro was always looking for more purebloods to join. She could see it now, oh the boy could be adored back at home, a place where they could get the boy what needs, considering how All for One was clearly failing him in every way. Her heart fluttered more when he seemed interested in Deika city, perhaps already knowing that it could be his future home.
Then he asked about their magic, to which Skeptic happily showed him his by turning a collection of the cups into a replica doll of little Izuku, and his eye lit up like stars as he started frantically asking question after question about his magic, to which Geten got jealous over the attention on Skeptic magic and proceeded to show theirs and the boy looked even more amazed.
And that's how Re-Destro and All for One walked in on Chitose showing Izuku her magic, and all good things must come to an end.
All for One smile was bone chilling as he looked down at his child, "did you get hungry?" he cooed, much to the boys embarrassment.
Only professionalism made her not roll her eyes in disgust; the King of vampire clearly didn't deserve a prince.
"Um, well, I" He stuttered his eye darting back and forth as he struggled to get answered his father's question, breaking away from her grasp to stand up, the chalice of blood forgotten on the table.
"I'm not mad, Izuku" All for One exclaimed walking over, ruffling the boy's hair. "He hasn't been giving you any trouble I hope," he asked them, pulling his dark cape slightly around the boy, a clear warning to them not to get any closer.
"Oh, heavens no he's been so polite" she insisted standing from her seat to give a bow.
"Besides, they dragged him into joining us" Geten added as they walked over to Re-Destro "Are we going now?" they asked the supreme leader in their dull tone, Re-Destro patted them on the shoulder.
"Soon, Geten" he assured before turning his gaze to little Izuku "So you must be Izuku, I've heard quite a lot about you!" He exclaimed zipping over very close to the boy who squeaked in surprise of the sudden movement, causing All for One to practically smoother the boy under the dark fabric.
"You have?" He hesitated, push the fabric aside slightly to send his father a dirty look, who only innocently shrugged in response.
He bent to down to little Izuku level, hands on his shoulders. "This is Rikiya Yotsubashi, he runs a city called Deika, and the four people you were talking to are his generals" All for One explained.
"I know" was all Izuku responded with before turning to face the supreme leader "It's nice to meet you, sir, your colleagues have told me a lot about you" Izuku responded with an air of politeness, but Chitose saw the way his shoulder stiffened under All for One's hand, how a tiny bead of sweat trailed down his face.
He was afraid, but why would he be scared? Sure, another vampire could be threats to each other back in the good old days, but now was a much different story, they were on the brink of extinction struggling to crawl back to the glory days. Not to mention no one in their right mind would attack the only son of All for One unless they were asking for a death wish, it could be that he's half-human, but even then, he still likely had the power to stand on his own.
'Unless he doesn't like All for One' the stray thought burned under her skin.
All young vampires had some what of a bond with their parents, something that would make them seek comfort and safety from them while they grew. A parent would have to be truly horrid to their child for them to be afraid for them.
'Something's not right' she concluded.
"HA, of course they have, I hope they've been treating you well little one, sometimes that can be a bit intense" he explained in his cheerful tone, the same one they had drawn her into joining him after her family was wiped out.
"Um, no sir" little Izuku squeaked, pulling at his cape collar a little.
"Anyway" All for One cut in shuffling his son a little closer to himself, a hand trailing down the boys face. "I hate to impose but the nights not going to last forever" He stated with a knowing smile.
'Translation, get the hell out of my house' Chitose mentally rolled her eyes, looking down at little Izuku who was trying to get out of his father hold as discreetly as possible 'even more things that don't make sense, what are you hiding All for One?'.
"Yes, we do have a long journey back" Re-Destro agreed, standing up "Would you do the pleasure of walking us out?" He asked with a flick of his wrist.
All for one shrugged "Sure" he started walking well tugging little Izuku to follow, "I've already gotten your carriage prepared".
"How generous" she muttered following from behind.
Walking down the halls of the winding castle, with Re-Destro chatting to All for One the entire time sometimes getting a word or two out of little Izuku, but his father seemed to cut him off every time. Izuku continued to try and get out of his father hold; one could say it was perhaps the beginning of some adolescent rebellion, but it seem to fall so short to just call it that.
Eventually, they reached outside, there carriage fully prepare and waiting for them under the pale moonlight. little Izuku looked around at the area, a lot more perkier then before, his nose twitched at the smells of the outside while All for One whispered something in his son ear which earned him a scowl but the boy stay still as all for let go of his child to address the group.
"Well, this is you" All for One stated gesturing to the carriage, "I do wish you safe travels on this fine night" he concluded not even bowing, smiling like he was better then them.
'How did this man have such a sweet son?' she groan internally with a plastic smile on her face "Thank you All for One, it's been a pleasure". She zipped over quickly, taking Izuku hands into her own, and dragging him away from his fathers cape, much to All for One displeasure. "And I do hope we can meet again, little Izuku" she stated honestly well she discreetly pressed a piece of paper into his hands. "Remember our doors are always open" she added, Izuku just nodded and gave her a smile, only lasting a seconded as All for One dragged his son back under his cape completely blocking the child from there view, glaring impatiently at her.
"Hey, can we go now?" Geten yelled from the carriage.
"Stop being impatient" Skeptic yelled back.
'God, how am I friends with these morons' she wondered.
After a quick bow, with Skeptic forcing Geten to bow as well, Re-Destro stated there deepest thanks and farewells. They piled into the carriage and were off without much fanfare.
"That was interesting so what do we think," Trumpet asked the others, who were all thinking the same thing is Izuku Midoriya worthy enough to join their family, and if he is how are they going to convince him "I for one would find the boy quite a fine addition".
"Agreed" she pitched in "he's intelligent, and seemed interested in Deika, besides I don't trust All for One with a child something is clearly amidst." The boy's reaction to everything, All for One sending him to bed so he wouldn't be seen by anyone, the lack of announcement of his birth All for One was clearly hiding his son from the world.
"He's also rather young, young people can be influenced with the right incentive" Skeptic continued with a slight smile "besides he might be good to connect to some of our younger followers".
"Is no one going to mention that he smells human?" Geten added sinking into their seat, clearly not happy with the evening.
"Oh, that easy to explain, he's half-human" Re-Destro dropped and the carriage filled with silence.
"WHAT!" Geten shouted "that's a thing?" they added much quieter, Chitose burst out in a fit of giggles.
"You're probably too young to know about it, but yes, they exist I actually had two cousins who were half-human, back when my family was still alive, and Re-Destro had one as well if I remember" she explained, Geten pulled down their hood revelling snowy white features.
"So, what does that mean?" They asked the supreme leader "Humans are food, who would have sex with food unless she was turned, still why does he smell so human?" Geten looked like a curious puppy wanting answers.
"It's not a really big deal honestly, we are so low in numbers that I doubt anyone cares" Skeptic muttered, "How couldn't I catch that the boy was half-human, it seems so obvious".
"I just thought it was the diet, I remember young one always had that type of redolence to them" Trumpet added in shame, Chitose just chuckled at their embarrassment.
"Naturally I knew from the moment I saw him, although, in case you’re wondering I did give him the location of Deika city before we left" she smiled.
"Good work, Curious" Re-Destro praised "Now all we have to do, is give him a little push".
'yes' she agreed, looking out the window at starry night, 'a push away from the horrors of All for one'.
"Izuku get out of the sunspot" All for One growl on the edge of the said sunspot. Izuku hadn't been happy, so when the morning had hit after a full night of being fussed over by the king of darkness, Izuku had yanked open the largest curtains and sat dead centre in the spot of the sun with a pair of nail clippers.
"No" Izuku growled, clipping of another nail, there wasn't much he could do about the teeth though at least he could get rid of the nails, much to All for One annoyance.
"Izuku-".
CLIP.
"Just come-".
CLIP.
"And talk-".
CLIP.
"Izuku! Stop that" All for one growled, muttering under his breath about Izuku being a stubborn child, Izuku just stared at him as he clipped the last nail of his left hand without breaking eye contact. "That's it" All for One hissed, abruptly Izuku found himself hoisted off the ground, nail clippers dropping out of his hand, the sunlight disappearing off his skin.
Izuku looked up at All for one, who face already started to heal from the burns.
"Stop that, put me down" Izuku hissed at All for One like a cat, slapping his hand over his mouth afterword’s, he didn’t need All for One commenting on his teeth again he had done that all night, All for One just signed well fixing the boy's position in his arms. "I'm serious All for One put me down" Izuku continued to struggle for a solid ten minutes before he realised that All for One wasn't letting go.
"Are you done?" All for One asked when Izuku stopped squirming.
"Let me go" Izuku demanded again, he didn't want to talk to All for One, he needed to get the nearest horse, and leave this dreaded castle far behind. "I don't want to talk to you".
"You're talking to me right now" All for One pointed out, a hint of amusement in his voice, Izuku gave him a pointed glare but didn't say anything more. "Izuku come on it's not the end of the world, I mean this was inevitable, and now we need to deal with it" All for One started.
"If you get me a pair of pliers, I could solve this issue" Izuku injected feeling All for One's hand tighten around his arm.
"You would happily mutilate yourself the accept you're a vampire?" All for One gritted his teeth "I know you're stubborn, but can't you admit that you're taking it too far" Izuku twitched.
"What do you want me to accept? That I'm part of a blood draining species!" Izuku snapped, "I didn't ask for this, I don't want this, I was fine before you came along and messed everything up" Izuku yelled, struggling again, if it wasn’t for the magic that prevented Izuku from using One for All, he would have very easily gotten out.
“now, now Izuku, listen to me, I know you have issues with this; but it really not that bad” All for One struggled to keep Izuku from flying out of his arms “Just stop squirming, you’re not that young” All for One hissed, holding Izuku closer until he was left in a panting heap.
“How… are you… so strong” Izuku puffed.
“Well it all starts with a good diet” All for One started, amusement clear in his voice, Izuku groaned into his hands "How about a compromise" All for One injected, that made Izuku look up.
"What?" He asked.
"I'll let you go to sleep at noon, and you can have solid food, but in exchanged you drink a glass of blood at every meal" All for One offered, Izuku opened and close his mouth a few times as he contemplated All for Ones offer "And don't say that you can't drink blood you drank a litre of it when you were with the Liberation generals" All for One paused "And you know, teeth" he added smugly.
Izuku glared at All for One venomously while the offer rolled around in his head. Sleeping at noon would mean waking up around midnight, so All for One was laying out having half his waking hours in the daylight and the other in the night, and Izuku did craved solid foods again he need his strength, but could he eat if he had to drink a glass of blood with every meal?
Izuku hummed, it seemed tempting but not enough "Only a wine glass, and no human, only animal blood, I know you can drink that" Izuku added, All for One nodded.
"I can live with that" He replied, slightly inclining his head.
"And I go outside?" Izuku pushed at his boundary, All for One made a face "Or I could just find the pliers" Izuku smiled as All for One squinted.
"You can go outside, supervised" All for One corrected, Izuku squinted this time.
'I could keep fighting All for One to exhaustion, or I could compromise and make it easier for both of us' Izuku weigh the odds in his head for a few minutes before give and defeated sign.
"Fine," he mumbled.
"Oh, come one it will be good" All for One challenged, setting down Izuku on the carpeted floor "It won't kill you" He added, gliding across the floor, his large cape bellowing behind him dramatically.
"You're asking me to be a vampire, I hate to tell you this All for One, but you're undead" Izuku smiled "So that means technically, I will die" the way All for One's shoulders sagged, and a sign of pure dread escaped his mouth made Izuku smother a laugh.
"Baby steps, baby step" All for one mumbled like a mantra, as he continued down the grand hall, Izuku rushing up to join him down the hall, his shoulder relaxing for the first time since he'd been awake.
It wasn't until an hour later Izuku felt regret crawl up his throat, All for One had delivered on his compromise a plate of solid food had been given, it tasted a lot like how his mum cooks his food, and Izuku woofed it down like an animal.
Then he was finished staring at the wine glass with hesitation, a sense of deja'vu washing over him.
"Don't tell me your backing out now, I told you, you should have drunk it well eating; but no, I don't know what I'm saying" All for one drawled sarcastically, taking a sip from his own glass.
"You don't have to rub it in" Izuku muttered, running his tongue over his teeth one last time, just in case his fangs have miraculously disappeared, but they were still there.
Izuku shuffled his feet, taking a deep breath in, he reached for the glass, his cut nails scrapping the cup. "Why do you even drink this stuff?" Izuku asked well he slightly swirled the liquid around.
"You're stalling" All for one purred, making Izuku pout.
"Argh, fine" Izuku took a deep breath in and exhaled before downing the drink, only to choke on the taste, bitterly swallowing after a few seconds. "This taste horrible" Izuku gagged, placing down the half-empty cup "what was that?"
He remembers last night that it didn't taste that bad, but then again last night he was sure he drank human blood.
"Pig" All For One answered, "Now do you see why we do what we do?" All for One smiled, Izuku recoiled looking down at the half-empty cup, picking up the glass, and without breaking eye contact, he drank the rest of it.
"Nope," Izuku placed the cup back down, All for One smiled.
"Alright, have your opinion" All for One laughed "feeling better?" he asked, Izuku shrugged.
"I just don't feel like I'm going to drop from exhaustion, I'm going outside" Izuku explain getting up from his seat and running to the door.
"Now?" All for one asked "can't this wait till tonight?" he urged, getting up from his seat.
"Don't tell me, your backing out already?" Izuku mocked opening the door "beside a little sunlight never killed anyone" Izuku added, knowing full well that All for One couldn't be in the sun.
"...Just don't go where I can't see you" All for one asked, following him down the hall.
"Ok" Izuku lied, he was absolutely going to go where All for One couldn't see him.
