Takumi looked at Soma. He looked beautiful in Hokaido's lights. They made his skin shine in different colors. Yukihira looked at him.
"Is something wrong, Takumi?" he asked in his soft tone. Takumi felt his cheeks heat up and rapidly shook his head. He was aware of his brother's smug look and Erina snickering behind him. He turned back to Soma but found him already moving to a candy store. They had three hours to kill before they needed to get to the trains so they were planning on sampling food. Takumi waved good-bye to his brother and the others before Yukihira grabbed his had and took off running to find food.
"Yukihira! Where are we going anyway?" Takumi asked and blushed again at the smile that was sent his way.
"You'll see," Soma vaguely replied. Takumi huffed but allowed himself to be pulled along while absentmindedly paying attention to his surroundings. He thought of Soma. He thought of the way his face scrunched up when he was concentrating; he thought of the way Soma always had some snacks on hand; he thought of Soma's smile.
He knew he was hopelessly in love with the other and that it was obvious to anyone who even looked at their interactions, especially his brother. However, Soma himself remained oblivious. "-Akumi! Takumi!" said man was calling his name that moment.
"I'm sorry, Yukihira, what were you saying?" Takumi asked, embarrassed.
"Soma." Yukihira stated.
"I'm sorry?" Takumi confusedly asked.
"You can call me Soma." Yukihira said looking away. Takumi swore he could see Soma's ears turning red.
"Okay then, Soma, what were you saying?" Takumi asked with a grin. Soma shot him a quick smile and pointed in front of them. Takumi turned and noticed they were in front of a restaurant. And not just any restaurant. An Italian restaurant that looked somewhat like his family's. Takumi turned to Soma, speechless.
Soma grinned at the others reaction and grabbed his hand, pulling him inside. "A table for two please," Soma asked the finely dressed waitress at the entrance. She took down their names and led them to a table next to a window. Once they were seated they both ordered their drinks- tea for Soma and coffee for Takumi- and looked over their menus.
"Hey Takumi, any suggestions?" Soma asked.
"I'd say the Fiorentina Steak would be a good thing to try. I myself will get the Saltimbocca." Takumi said. Yukihira looked on the menu and found the suggestion. They both ordered their food and talked about their lives growing up. Takumi was sickened by the disgusting dishes Soma and his dad had made but laughed at the antics Soma used while competing against his father. Soma was entranced by Takumi describing his family home and restaurant. When their food came they both tried bits of each others and shared ways the recipe could be improved.
They both ordered Gilato before they paid, opting that Soma would pay for that meal and Takumi would buy other foods at stalls they passed by on the way to the meet-up point. Once they were satisfied with the foods they had they decided to take a break at one of the covered benches on the side of a Koi pond. Takumi decided to speak up about something that had been bothering him for a while.
"Soma, why did you decide to be my friend? I was awful to you when we first met. I crushed your shoe and was rude."
"Hmm? What do you mean. You're not a bad guy; you just wanted some competition. Besides, you're fun and nice." Soma replied. Takumi heated up at Soma's words and decided to tell him something.
"S-soma! I need to tell you something. I've liked you- really liked you- for the longest time. You probably think of me as no more than a friend and I'm okay with that. I just wanted you to know how I felt." Takumi burst out.
Soma was quiet for a few minutes before he finally spoke again. "Takumi."
"Yes?"
Takumi waited for a let down but it didn't come. Instead, he felt soft, cold lips against his. Yukihira Soma was kissing him! HIM! He stated kissing back.
After a few second they both needed to breathe again. When they pulled away Soma said something that made Takumi's heart swell.
"I really like you too."
They both leaned in once again.
