Nezu…
Enjoyed the life he had now.
He liked being a principal, and enjoyed seeing his students become heroes.
He liked having his quirk, even though it wasn’t a good thing originally.
And it wasn’t wrong for Nezu to say that he was smart.
So it’s safe to say he didn’t really expect to have his security compromised by a kid.
“Are you principal Nezu?”
He seemed so innocent.
All fluffy green hair and freckles and smiles.
Even though he was standing in the middle of the principal’s office, and he was distinctly not a student at U.A. So how the hell-
“Yes? Do you need something?” Nezu asked.
“Yes! I do in fact. Could you sign my notebook?” he asked and Nezu nodded, gripping the pen in his hand, opening the… very full notebook.
Nezu only glanced at a few pages, but he knew… he knew a quirk when he saw one.
Or at least he thought so.
“Intelligence quirk?” he asked the kid as he handed him the notebook back.
“Nope! I’m quirkless,” he said, and then jumped out the window.
Wait…
Jumped… out the window?
By the time Nezu reached the window, the kid was already gone.
At least he wasn’t a splat on the pavement.
Nezu thought that would’ve been the last he’d see the green haired boy, after all, he’d given the boy his autograph, what more could he want?
But then there was a tapping on his office window, and when he turned, the boy was already inside his office.
“What are you doing here?” Nezu asked, and the boy just grinned.
“Who are you?” He tried again.
“Oh! I’m Izuku Midoriya, why?”
“No reason,” Nezu said, already planning to look the boy up.
“Ah. You think I was lying about being quirkless,” Izuku said, grinning.
“No,” yes.
“I can assure you, I’m not. Go ahead, you can look me up right now. I’ll even wait for you to do so!”
Nezu sighed, and looked up the name ‘Midoriya Izuku’ in his records.
He was right. No quirk listed.
When Nezu looked up, Izuku was gone.
And Nezu was back at square one.
Izuku turned up again.
But only because Nezu managed to spot him.
“How did you find me?” he asked.
Izuku poked his head out of the tree, his messy green hair almost the same color as the leaves he was hiding in.
He leapt down, falling into step with Nezu.
“I made a map? And then kinda just… figured it out?” he said, scratching the back of his neck.
God, if this kid got any more vague, Nezu might strangle him.
When he turned around, he was gone.
But the kid kept turning up. More and more often.
Nezu was in a meeting with Aizawa.
“Mister Principal Nezu, Sir?” a voice called, and Nezu’s eyes went wide.
“Holy shit, not this goddamn kid again,” he muttered, and across his desk, Aizawa’s eyes went wide.
“What?” he asked, confused.
“If he comes in here, either take him down or tell him I’m not here,” Nezu said and Aizawa just… wordlessly nodded as Nezu slipped under his desk.
“Is the principal in?” the familiar voice asked.
“No. I’m waiting for him now,” Aizawa responded.
“Ah! I’ll get going then. Although… are you the underground hero Eraserhead?” he asked and Nezu rolled his eyes. He could always trust this kid to be a nerd.
“Uh… yes?” Aizawa said uncomfortably.
“Can you sign my notebook?” he asked and Nezu both heard and felt Aizawa’s sigh.
“Fine, whatever, then get going,”
There were the faint sounds of a pen on paper, and then the sound of something metal closing.
“The fucking air vent Nezu? Our security is compromised!” Aizawa growled as soon as the kid had left.
“I don’t know how to stop him. I’ve upgraded the security four times,” Nezu said, sitting back into his chair and Aizawa put his head in his hands.
Nezu put a little more effort into finding Izuku.
He learned the school he went to, and observed.
And saw the other students picking on him.
Didn’t they know that Izuku was a genius?
Didn’t they know that Izuku could analyze circles around them?
Why did Izuku let them?
Nezu didn’t get it.
But he let him be.
After a while, Nezu stopped being startled by the green haired boy. Sort of… expecting him to turn up at every corner.
Or in the air vents.
Under tables.
Out of cabinets.
So when Izuku didn’t turn up for a week, Nezu… got a little worried.
And when Nezu got worried, he knew exactly what strings he needed to pull to get the information he needed.
That’s how he found out that Izuku was in the hospitals.
With burns that seemed to be the cause of his childhood friend’s quirk.
So, Nezu decided that he wasn’t going to let it slide anymore.
And he turned up in Izuku’s hospital room.
“Uhm? Izuku? There’s a-” the woman said, opening the door a little bit wider for Nezu.
“Nezu! You’re here!” Izuku said, and Nezu smiled, a little, hopping up on the boy’s bed.
“What happened?” he asked.
“Oh uh… nothing, Kacchan is just…” Izuku stammered out.
“How can one of my smartest students not avoid a bully?” Nezu asked and Izuku looked down.
“Wait… I’m your student?” Izuku asked.
“At this point you might as well be. Mrs. Midoriya, if you don’t mind, I’d like to take over your son’s education,” Nezu said, turning to his mother.
“Um… sure? He’s still in middle school right now though,” she said gently.
“Not any longer! I’ll be enrolling him in U.A and teaching him everything I know,”
Mrs. Midoriya and her son started crying.
Two days later, Midoriya was welcomed in. Given an I.D so he could get in and out of the school, learning the halls as he walked back and forth to Nezu’s office.
Aizawa tried to catch him, bringing him to Nezu to get him kicked off the property, when Nezu just grinned, calling the rest of the staff into the office.
“From now on, Midoriya Izuku has been given free reign of the school,”
“Wait… you want the kid here now?” Aizawa asked.
“He’s my student!” Nezu said happily.
“Oh god, there’s two of them,” someone whispered from the back of the room.
“Indeed. If we’re lucky, Izuku will replace me as principal!” Nezu said brightly, climbing up Izuku’s arm to stand on his shoulder.
Pure terror swept through the room as the two geniuses grinned.
