Julius was coming back today.
Subaru, although he tried to contain it, was practically vibrating with anticipation for the violet haired knight's return.
Julius had been away assisting Anastasia with a business deal in a neighbouring country for almost two months and as much as he outwardly pretended otherwise, subaru had missed his asshole knight immensely.
Their relationship was fairly new and still very much in the honeymoon phase. The noirette had taken a lot of time to think about and come to terms with his feelings for Julius since their first meeting that fateful day in the capital, followed by their subsequent battle against the archbishop of sloth.
Julius had been extremely patient and gentlemanly with subaru, more so than Subaru really felt he deserved. Expressing his affection towards the young man and his desire to 'court' him, as he put it. Seriously who even uses the term 'courting' anymore? Julius had essentially asked him if he wanted to go on a date.
Despite their rough start Subaru couldn't deny the feelings he harboured for the Knight of the Anastasia camp and agreed to a date which consisted of a meal at a high end restaurant in the capital followed by a walk around the city. Part of the reason Subaru had agreed to a date in the first place was the prospect of Julius having to fork out for a fancy meal as the young Japanese man was definitely going to take advantage and order as much as possible considering his own lack of finances to do so on his own.
That night had only served to heighten Subaru's growing feelings of romantic interest. He had never pictured himself ever falling in love with that self righteous asshole, especially after the beating he'd taken from him (an event Julius apologised for nearly every time the were together, really it was getting quite tiring) yet here he was three months later, two months of which Julius hadn't even been around and he still found himself falling more in love every day.
"Barusu will you please stop drooling like a dog in heat and make yourself useful. I dread to think what disturbing, perverse fantasies you are coming up with in that tiny brain of yours. These leaves won't sweep themselves and even if you are completely incompetent the least you can do is pick up a broom"
Snapping back to the present, Subaru jolted where he was standing in the middle of the courtyard, hastily shaking himself out of his daydreaming and shooting back at Ram:
"Never miss a chance for a dig do ya Ram Ram, if anyone's the perverse one here it's you accusing me of such shameless thoughts." despite the feigned confidence in his words Subaru couldn't hide the blush rising on his cheeks.
Ram scoffed and tossed a broom at the still blushing man who only just managed to catch it in time before it hit him in the face.
" I have no idea why miss Emilia has allowed someone as vulgar and incompetent as you to stay at the Manor for this long, perhaps it is because she has such a love for sad, helpless creatures she can't help but take them in off the street. Now if you don't mind I have potatoes to steam for dinner" before subaru could retort Ram had already turned on her heel and marched away towards the kitchen.
Subaru huffed, leaning his weight on the broom as he got lost in thought again.
Speaking of Emilia, that was another thing that had added to his struggles of coming to term with his feelings for Julius.
Emilia being the Saint she was had caught on quick to Subaru's distress and had reassured him that if he loved Julius he shouldn't try to deny those feelings and should take the plunge and confess. That denying such feelings would only make him miserable. "you guys would be sooooo cute together." she had exclaimed, an excited sparkle in her eye that had made Subaru's heart melt.
Several hours later and the unmistakable sound of a ground dragon and carriage could be heard pulling up in front of the Maethers mansion. It could only mean the Anastasia camp had arrived for their scheduled negotiations with the Emilia camp. Hopes of building a stronger relationship between the two camps thus ensuring both Royal candidates boost their standing in the Royal selection.
Subaru, as well as the rest of the mansion's residents lined up outside the front doors to meet their guests.
Mimi was the first to exit the carriage, running to greet Subaru and the others with her usual enthusiasm and boundless energy.
Next was Anastasia herself, who exchanged quick handshakes and 'how do you do's? ' with everyone before being escorted inside by Ram.
Finally Julius stepped out of the carriage, looking far too put together for a man who'd been travelling for weeks at a time. Stupid, handsome asshole would probably have a heart attack if so much as a hair was out of place on his person.
Julius smiled warmly the moment he laid eyes on Subaru, walking briskly up the mansion steps to greet him first.
What Subaru expected to be a handshake (they had to keep it professional and business like in public after all) instead turned into a far too tight hug.
"Agh! I get it, I missed you too but you're gonna break my spine! Let go asshole, I mean it, there's people watching! "
Julius laughed brightly, holding on for just a second longer before finally releasing the poor man.

" Oh god, yeah, yeah just like that ah! Ah! Shit that's so good" subaru moaned loudly, clawing at Julius' back as he slammed into him, rocking him up the bed and nearly making the noirette snack his head into the headboard with every rough thrust.
They had planned to go on another walk through the woods surrounding the Maethers Estate, however 2 months apart with nothing but suggestive letters and his own hand had meant those plans were quickly forgotten in favour of getting their hands on each other. The woods would still be there tomorrow.
The purple haired man groaned and bit down on Subaru's shoulder to ground himself, pushing in deep and grinding his hips dragging a high pitched whine out of the younger man.
"My love you feel amazing, I missed this so much, I missed you so much. I missed your touch, your smell, the sound of your voice, how it feels to be inside you. I never wish to be apart for so long again" Julius was panting hard in between words, pressing feverish kisses to Subaru's neck and shoulder.
The dark haired man arched his back feeling his orgasm fast approaching, he hitched his legs up to wrap around Julius' waist and locked his ankles behind the knight's back keeping him in place.
"I love you Julius, I love you so so much. Cum for me, cum inside me please" Subaru was rambling praises and pleas as Julius sped up, thrusts losing their rhythm before he finally stilled as he reached his peak and came deep inside the smaller man.
The feeling of warmth filling him drove Subaru over the edge and he came with a hoarse cry, body twitching all over.
Julius collapsed on top of Subaru, the two men panting hard as they came down from their high. Subaru gently petted Julius' hair where his head was resting on his chest, humming contentedly to himself.
A few moments later Julius finally pulled out and rolled to the side, pulling Subaru in for a gentle embrace and planting a kiss on his forehead.
Still breathless, Julius asked "Are you alright, love?"
"mhmm" hummed an exhausted Subaru, far too tired for actual words. Tucking his head under Julius' chin he closed his eyes and was about to let himself drift off.
"I need to clean us up, we can't go to sleep like this."
Subaru grunted and tightened his hold on Julius, a silent declaration that he had no intention of moving from his current position.
Julius let out a breathy chuckle, forcibly detaching himself from the shorter man, leaving him with a kiss to the top of the head before fetching a cloth and bowl of water to wipe the sweat and... Other fluids off both their bodies.
Subaru shifted onto his back, allowing Julius to do all the work, sighing contendly at the feeling of the soft fabric running over his abbs and between his thighs.
Once clean, the two settled down and prepared to sleep.
Julius ran his fingers through Subaru's hair, gently combing out the matts that had formed "I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow, I was really looking forward to that walk"
Subaru hummed In agreement, he was also supposed to help Ram shop tomorrow, hopefully he wouldn't be too sore and be forced to stay home. That would really piss her off.
