Dear Prompter,

This is fest is my first attempt at A/B/O. I loved your prompt and couldn't skip past it. I hope I did justice with it. I tried to play around the plot to make it interesting, hope you like it.

Prompt:

Park Jimin is the unpredictable and unexpected head of biggest crime syndicate. No one would thought of his position to be that high, being an Omega and looking fragile and small , scents so sweet and alluring. He takes advantage of that, climbing to the top with his witty mind and his excellent way of handling guns. (Or maybe his flirty way?)

One night, while walking down the street with his comfy baggy hoodie, bunch of asshole started harassing him, and Jimin wasn't in the mood to use violence that time so he lets them be till this one kind and cute alpha showed up and fought with those asshole, thinking that Jimin is a damsel in distress.

And oh, to spice up his boring life, Jimin started to pretend like some helpless, weak Omega towards jungkook, hiding his identity, 'accidentally' bumping into jk almost every night and eventually developing a feeling towards the younger.

(Sorry for my English!)

Dw : fluff, happy ending, protective and possessive jk (even after knowing jm is definitely not a weak Omega), Top jungkook, bottom jimin

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Boredom was such a dangerous thing. It was even more dangerous when it involved Jimin.

The omega scrunched his nose as he looked around him, trying to occupy himself with something. The wolf inside him was restless, scratching at him to be let out. He sighed for the umpteenth time as he glared at the TV, his mind barely registering anything being telecasted.

His penthouse was nothing short of luxury and opulence. The three levels were connected by stairways with brass balusters. It offered inevitably the best view of Seoul city with exclusive amenities like a private elevator, rooftop garden, or his favorite sky-high pool. Add in the glass curtain walls, barrel-vaulted ceilings, velvet upholstery, and custom-designed furniture he got the palace.

He missed Taehyung. His second-in-command and soulmate for life were away on a business trip. Jimin hadn’t gone to the Tokyo crime syndicate meeting, seemingly occupied with his heat. It just broke yesterday and he spent the rest of the day cleaning around and eating.

Hoseok, his consigliere and an alpha who was immune to his charms (he claimed he was immune, but always gave in to his pout and puppy eyes) came to check on him regularly, leaving him food and other necessities.

Jimin was born into money. He never lacked anything or had longed for anything in his life. His parents spoiled him and got him only the best of everything just like this penthouse they bought for him when he turned eighteen and wanted his own space.

Being an omega in the world of crime never hindered his road to the top. In fact, underestimating him based on his size and sub-gender had led to the downfall of the majority of them.

Jimin’s family had been involved with the darker side of the world as far as he could remember. They weren’t huge, but they weren’t small either. When Jimin was born as the only son of the then Cobra leader, he wasn’t deterred by the fact that his son was an omega.

His father made sure that Jimin would never be helpless in his life. He trained Jimin like they trained any alpha. Maybe Jimin took on few extra forms of martial arts along with his dance classes. He worked thrice as hard to harden his naturally soft nature and body. However, he was no less than an alpha when it came to a fight.

When Jimin began accompanying his father to those crime syndicate meetings at only sixteen, no one expected him to be ruthless. The alphas thought they could bend him to their will, but he was immune to their clogging pheromones. Having grown around alphas since childhood and trained with them all life, their natural dominance never affected his omega.

Not to mention, his omega was prideful. There were only a handful of alphas it deemed to be worthy of its respect. Not that he respected a lot of people. His list was rather small. Only one handful. That included his alpha father, Taehyung and Hoseok. Then there was his omega father and Taehyung’s mate Yoongi, another pretty yet lethal omega who could kill someone in a blink of an eye.

Jimin found Yoongi when the latter applied for the internship in their company’s tech department. A chance encounter led to much more and when Jimin saw what Yoongi was capable of he had welcomed him into his den. Of course, after making sure he had Yoongi’s loyalty.

Jimin would have enjoyed Yoongi’s company given his mood, but the omega accompanied Taehyung since the Triads would be present in the meeting. As a tech geek, Yoongi could hack into anything that accessed internet and was also pretty good with a lot of electronic stuff Jimin would never understand. He was a great asset to the Cobras.

With his heat passed, his appetite was back and he found himself constantly munching on something that was left around. The modern advancements in the field of medicine made the heats and ruts bearable for the wolves. While the pain was dulled by the medicine, the constant state of arousal made it impossible to move around as he pleased.

He was on his fifth piece of pizza when he decided he had enough. He had showered earlier, so he just changed into a pair of sweatpants and a baggy hoodie. Not his best attire but he was in no mood to dress up. His freshly dyed, peach-colored hair was fluffy giving him a soft look.

He applied his favorite cherry chapstick and was on his way out, gun safely strapped in his ankle. He dismissed the guard who wanted to follow and entered the elevator. Taehyung would flip if he learned he left on his own again.

But the situation was peaceful in general and he was in their territory. Almost everyone knew who he was. The majority of the people knew him as the young CEO of Park Inc. The one in the underground world knew him as the fearless leader of the Cobras. They would be crazy to try something on him.

Jimin rode down the thirty floors, hands buried into his pocket and teeth sinking into his bottom lip as his omega grew restless. He just wanted to escape the metal box and get some fresh air.

The relief that washed over him when the fresh autumn breeze beat his face was palpable. He took a few greedy gulps and let the omega settle in his chest, reminding himself to book the club for the weekend so he could let his wolf run. It has been a while.

The city wolves that lived with the humans had to be mindful of shifting. The wolves belonged with nature. Though with time they had evolved to live in big cities, their nature couldn’t be ignored. They had special clubs with a wide expanse of forest area which was well protected and preserved for them to spend a day or two in the wild, go camping or do whatever as they see fit. People who couldn’t afford these private forests went a bit farther into the wild.

He wandered around aimlessly, pulling the hood over his head. The darkness had fallen and the night was illuminated with bright lights that came from the buildings. Around him, the city moved as busy as usual.

Jimin kept an eye on his surrounding but didn’t really care where he was headed to. Because this was the fort build by Cobras. Anyone who dared to mess with him would be a fool. Park Jimin ruled Seoul and controlled the cities that surrounded it.

He didn’t realize how much time had passed but the high-rise buildings have thinned out and he was in the shadier part of the city. The street vendors were wrapping their shops and there wasn’t much of a crowd. Was it that late already?

At what time did he leave? He checked his wr istwatch, realizing it was around eleven p.m.

Oh.

He has to return, but the omega was in no mood to leave just yet. It enjoyed the fresh air and changed its surroundings a bit too much. He continued down the narrow street, hoping to find the main road and then find a taxi. He could book a cab or call his driver, but he just wanted to stall as much time as possible.

A low whistle caught his attention. His nostrils flared, sensing four alphas around. The omega scrunched his nose, his senses still heightened and the wolf was a bit sensitive to strong scents. But then Jimin didn’t pay much heed because the bitch never appreciated any scent for that matter. It was too picky. Jimin thought the omega was prone to die single if it kept going like this.

He exhaled loudly and ignored the footsteps that were now following him. Engaging a bunch of horny assholes that had no clue as to who they were fucking with was the last thing he wanted. Mainly he didn’t want to add four bodies to Hoseok’s never-ending headache. The man deserved some rest.

He continued walking, still with no sense of direction only to realize he had unknowingly entered a road that was dead-end ahead. He slowed his steps, the alphas following slowing down as well.

Jimin scoffed. Now he’d have to put up with the ignorant fools. He despised the thought of having their scent on him. With a scowl, he stopped and turned around to face them.

“Are you lost, pretty thing?” one of the alphas asked, his tone playful but he didn’t miss how their scents have spiked with interest now they saw his face under the street light.

Ah, fuck. He hated pet names. It rubbed him off the wrong way. He was far from an alpha’s plaything.

Jimin knew he was attractive. He was beautiful and his scent was that of fresh peaches. So sweet and alluring. Such an aphrodisiac to unmated alphas. Well, not that mated alphas were any different. There were only a few alphas that could resist his scent. Taehyung and Hoseok basically grew up with him and saw him as their blood. As for the others, he really felt sorry.

“We can bring you wherever you want to go?” suggested the other, his eyes raking down his petite form.

“What’s your name, sweetheart?”

Jimin rolled his eyes. The bastards inched closer.

“Why aren’t you talking, pretty thing?”

Jimin didn’t move a muscle. He kept his hands inside his pocket. His omega was relaxed, accessing them lazily. He knew he was better than them. He also had an element of surprise against them. No one would expect an omega to fight back.

“Leave,” he said in a bored tone. “I’m not in a mood.” His gaze cut to the side.

The alphas slightly spread out as if blocking out his path to freedom. Jimin fought the urge to scoff again. He growled low in his throat.

“Ah, you’re feisty,” one commented.

“He growls like a puppy,” another burst into laughter.

Jimin was slowly losing his patience.

“So cute and small.”

Jimin narrowed his eyes. No one called him small. His lips peeled off flashing his fangs and his posture stiffened when another loud growl cut through the atmosphere.

“Back off!”

The omega perked up, nostrils flaring and the growl halting in his throat as the new scent permeated their space. An alpha, it supplied helpfully. He smelled like spring flowers with an underlying scent of pine. Rich and potent. Jimin felt his knees weaken as he finally smelled the newcomer.

“Get lost!” one of the four alphas growled. “This is none of your business.”

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing? Ganging up on a helpless omega like a bunch of pussies?”

If Jimin was in another mood, he’d have growled at the word helpless. But the stupid omega was looking ahead with stars in its eyes and Jimin was mortified for the first time in his life because it was wagging its tail.

What the fuck?

“Move away,” the alpha spoke again. The warning rang clear in the air. His scent was a bit spicy which meant he was furious.

“Or what?”

“Or I’ll put you in your place and show you where you belong.”

The alpha was tall with broad shoulders. His voice was deep, full of authority but there was something different about it. Jimin couldn’t put his finger on it, but he was curious. He tilted his head to get a better look at the alpha and growled in annoyance because the four still crowded his vision.

One of the alphas that were cornering him turned around and lunged at the newcomer. Jimin tensed and poised himself to attack but the new alpha dodged the attack efficiently. He caught the attacker’s arm and twisted it, earning a painful howl before punching him square on his face.

The guy went down in a heap, clutching his nose and letting out painful grunts. The other two who went after him met with a similar fate. The omega was smitten with its jaw agape as it stared the alpha in awe. And it was important because the stupid wolf never ever did something like that before. Not even during their teenage years when they were curious about alphas.

The alpha was a good fighter, given his form and fighting stance Jimin could deduce that much. His movements and the punches delivered were sharp with purpose. He knocked the two alphas down easily. One was unconscious.

The fourth one threw his hands in the air in a surrendering motion. “I did nothing.”

“You being here and not doing anything to help alone is enough.” The alpha lunged and the fourth one went down on his knees.

“Spare me, please. I’ll leave and you won’t see me again.”

The alpha paused. “You disgust me.” He kicked him. “Take your filthy friends and leave at once.”

Jimin shivered right then. Fuck. He didn’t know how anyone could sound so sexy in a situation like that. He gawked openly.

The alpha turned to face him once the four alphas were out of their sight. He stepped into the light. “Are you okay?”

Oh fuck.

Standing in front of him was the most handsome alpha he ever had the pleasure to meet. Don’t let Tae hear that. He was far from the picture-perfect alpha the society had painted. The stranger had wide-doe-like eyes, when he widened it looked round and like those of the Bambi from the Disney movie Hoseok loved to watch. His nose was straight leading to a pair of thin, pink lips.

His blonde hair was in soft waves as if showered recently and ran his fingers a few times through it, framing his face and a few strands falling over his eyes. He was a mixture of cute yet handsome. When the alpha turned his head to glance over his shoulder at the mouth of the road to check if anyone was still there, Jimin got a view of his sharp jawline. He was fucking sexy.

Jimin shuddered unconsciously and the omega’s knees gave out. The stranger must have thought it was because of fear because he reached out to grab his elbow and Jimin whined.

He fucking whined. His eyes widened in alarm and clamped his mouth shut.

What the hell was that?

“Easy there,” the alpha spoke softly. “You’re safe. They’re gone now,” he assured. He gave him a once over with concern etching his features. “They didn’t hurt you, did they?”

“N-No.” Jimin closed his eyes at the shiver that coursed through his spine again. He blamed it on his omega, the non-existent cold, and the remnants of his heat.

The stranger brought his free hand to cover his other elbow, holding him steady. “My name is Jungkook. I work in one of the gyms in this area,” he introduced. “Are you lost?”

Unlike the earlier one who asked if he was lost, there was no malicious intent coming from this one. He sounded so sincere that Jimin found himself swooning. The omega preened wanting more of his attention. He had to clamp his mental leash around its neck to keep it at the base and not do anything stupid, such as rubbing his body over the alpha, laying a claim on him, or going belly up and demanding scratches.

He cleared his throat, forcing his mind to ignore that image. This time he blamed Taehyung and Hoseok for spoiling him with frequent belly rubs.

“Y-Yes. I…I was going home. But then…um…” The alpha hasn’t seemed to recognize him and Jimin wanted to keep it that way. “They were following me and I tried to get away.” He looked around, blinking purposefully because he was told he looked innocent when he did that.

It worked on the alpha because his features softened further, his scent mellow and inviting. It blanketed him like a warm cocoon. Never in his life was he ever tempted to dig his nose deep into some alpha’s neck. But tonight he longed for that. He wanted to bathe in his scent.

“Don’t worry. You took a wrong turn here. If you head straight down the road you’ll reach the main road. It’s just a ten minute walk. You can take a bus or cab from there.”

“O-Okay,” he stuttered purposefully and looked around again. “T-Thank you for saving me.”

“Where do you live?” Jungkook let him go and Jimin missed the warmth.

The omega almost reached for the alpha, stopping when he realized what he was doing. Oh shit. He can’t tell him where he lived. “Jimin,” he said instead. “My name is Jimin.”

“Oh.” Jungkook blinked, and then he smiled. “Nice to meet you, Jimin-ssi. I wish we met under a different circumstance.”

That smile.

Jimin’s heart somersaulted his chest. It fucking did that thing. The alpha continued to smile down at him and Jimin forgot his gift of speech for a moment.

He’s so beautiful.

Jimin never called an alpha beautiful. An alpha that didn’t go by the name Taehyung or Hoseok that was. But even then he called them hot or handsome, never beautiful. But Jungkook was beautiful. He looked so soft when he smiled.

“I wish so too.” If his friends were here, they’d laugh at his expanse and would never allow him to live this down. They’d go as far as to engrave this moment into his gravestone because Jimin never talked softly.

The alpha relaxed. “Come on. I live in Hwagok-dong. I’ll accompany you to the bus station.” He pulled his phone out to check the time. “The last bus should be arriving anytime now. We should leave.” He jerked his head to the mouth of the narrow street.

Jimin nodded and followed the alpha, keeping up with his pace.

“So what are you doing in a place like this, at this time of the night?”

Jimin slapped himself mentally. “Oh, I…um…I actually came for an interview.”

“Interview?” The alpha cocked his brow and Jimin felt nervous for the first time in his life.

“Y-Yeah. T-There was a job opening in one of the um…” He raked his brain, remembering the modest supermarket he saw on his way down here. “You know that supermarket?” he asked.

“The one at the intersection?”

Jimin relaxed. “Ah, yes. I met with the supervisor there.”

“Oh, did you get the job?”

Jimin pursed his lips. What are you doing? If wolves could smirk, his wolf would be smirking at him right now. It was watching him with interest. Why wouldn’t he? After all, it made no effort to hide how attracted it was to the alpha. It was purely enjoying the way he stammered.

“They said they’ll call,” he lied through his teeth.

Jungkook nodded. “Well, all the best then. I hope you get the job.” He grinned and Jimin’s heart did that thing again. “I work in the gym opposite the supermarket.”

“Oh.” Jimin smiled. “You fight really well.”

Jungkook shrugged. “I do boxing,” he said. “I wanted to make it my profession, but you know how life for the unfortunate works. I teach boxing now.”

Jimin wouldn’t know. He was born with a gold spoon in his mouth. He wouldn’t know how people from this side of the town lived their lives. But he nodded either way.

“Didn’t know gyms operate this late,” he commented instead.

Jungkook offered a smile, both approached the main road. “I have a client who comes after nine thrice a week. So I stayed late.”

Jimin hummed.

“That’s the bus stop. You didn’t tell me where you live.”

“Oh, I live in Nakseongdae?” He blinked, the answer sounding more like a question. “Nakseongdae,” he repeated again. “I…um…live with a friend. He works in Gangnam. It’s close to his work.”

Jungkook only nodded. “I think it’s better to call a cab. The bus that goes in the other direction must have left fifteen minutes ago.”

“Oh. I’ll get a taxi then.” Jimin pulled his phone out, booking a taxi right away. “There is one five minutes away,” he said.

Jungkook looked at him for a moment. “Do you…um…do you have enough to get by?” He reached for something behind his back. “I can hand you some if you don’t.”

Jimin was frowning until Jungkook produced his wallet. His eyes widened. He pushed his hands gently, his omega too pleased with the gesture. “I have enough. My friend gave me money before I left.”

Jungkook nodded, putting the purse away. “Okay.” They stood in awkward silence for a moment when the flash of headlights turned around the corner. “That’s my bus.” He looked down at Jimin, a frown tugging at his lips.

“You should go.”

“What about you?”

Jimin smiled again, his omega wagging his tail in pleasure. Warmth rushed to his chest. This was new. He glanced at his phone. “The taxi is only two minutes away.”

“Take my number,” Jungkook said urgently as the bus came closer. “Let me know once you reach home safely. Please.”

The bus came to a halt, one passenger climbed down. Jimin handed him the phone.

“One second, please,” Jungkook yelled at the bus driver and quickly put his number on his phone. “Here. Text me so I know you reached.”

“Okay.”

“Please…”

“I will.”

Jungkook visibly relaxed and hopped aboard, his gaze never leaving Jimin until the bus disappeared from the view. The cab arrived soon and Jimin headed home.

“What the fuck happened to him?”

Jimin whipped his head from where he lay on his living room couch with a permanent goofy grin that refused to leave his lips.

“TaeTae!” He jumped up, rushing to his soulmate.

The alpha didn’t even flinch when he jumped to wrap his legs around his waist and nuzzle his neck, scenting him earnestly. If he did this to any other alpha, their mates would have probably ripped his throat but Yoongi didn’t bother with his shenanigans in the least. He relished the now combined scents of both Yoongi and Taehyung.

At first, it was hard for him to adjust but now the omega found comfort in their combined scent. It blanketed him with the assurance of safety from the alpha and the maternal warmth of an omega. He pulled back once his peach was perfectly added to Taehyung’s mint and Yoongi’s daisy scent. He rested his cheek on his shoulder content with a purr radiating off his chest.

He felt Taehyung moving to sit, but didn’t open his eyes. The omega missed his den mate so badly.

“Our little Jiminie is in love,” Hoseok snorted.

“What?” Taehyung’s voice boomed, causing Jimin to jerk back.

The omega scowled and swatted at his chest before scampering off his lap to climb on Yoongi’s lap instead. He proceeded to scent the omega, who just grunted. Yoongi was a sucker for affection but had the best poker face that said he didn’t. Jimin knew how much Yoongi loved their scenting sessions because he had the omega purring and scenting him back just under seconds.

“I’m not joking. Jiminie went sightseeing last night and met this cute alpha with an adorable smile. He’s smitten and acting like he had found his first teenage crush,” Hoseok explained.

Jimin pulled away with a pout before climbing off Yoongi’s lap and flung himself on the empty side of the couch, resting his head on Hoseok’s lap. “He is my first crush,” he complained. “I’m allowed to act this way.”

“Hold on.” Taehyung lifted a finger. “You went out last night?”

Uh-oh.

“Alone,” Hoseok added more fuel to the fire.

“Minnie, we talked about this. You promised you’ll be careful,” Taehyung growled. “Jeez, I can’t fucking leave you for a few days and trust you to take care of yourself.”

“Oh, hear out the full story first,” Hoseok intervened. “A few alphas thought Jiminie was some helpless omega and cornered him alright. Then comes this alpha in shining armor, saving our Jiminie from those alphas. Like he literally fought them and knocked them down before walking Jiminie to the nearest bus station. He even gave his the number to Jiminie and asked him to text him once he reached home.”

Taehyung didn’t look amused. In fact, his scowl deepened. But before he could say something Yoongi intervened. “What’s his name?”

“Jungkook,” Jimin replied dreamily. “He smells like spring flowers with a hint of pine. So fresh. I so badly wanted to bury my nose into his neck.”

“He won’t stop staring at his phone.” Hoseok handed the phone to Yoongi. “He’s been staring at the messages since I came this morning.”

“You were texting him?” Yoongi asked with a  lift of his brow.

Jimin shrugged. It was nothing. He just told him he reached home safely and the alpha replied shortly before saying good night.

“Minnie?” Taehyung was frowning now. “You usually hate the way alphas smell.”

“I know right.” Jimin rolled to his side, lifting himself in his elbow. “And you should have seen his eyes. It looked like those of Bambi from Hobi hyung’s favorite Disney movie. If I looked longer, I could even see an entire galaxy.”

Hoseok shrugged. “Told you he’s gone. Whipped in all caps.”

“Jeon Jungkook, aged 26, works as a boxing instructor and personal trainer. Used to be a boxer but quit professional fighting two years ago for reasons unknown. Lives in Hwagok-dong and has a three-legged black and white cat called Bella,” Yoongi rattled, scrolling through his phone, his nimble fingers typed away something. “No police records. Has no parents. Lived in foster homes since nine. Very close to his foster brothers Kim Seokjin, aged 31, a restaurant owner in Hwagok-dong, and Kim Namjoon, aged 29, a mechanic.”

“Wow,” Jimin murmured as he sat up properly. “This is why you’re always the best.” He grinned.

Yoongi shrugged, the corners of his lips twitching. “I just found his social media. The rest isn’t that tough to figure out.” He sniffed. “He isn’t even remotely connected to our world, Jiminie. Are you sure you want to pursue him? From what you said, he didn’t even recognize you.”

Jimin thought about it and then grinned. “He’s cute. It was fun to see him trying to protect me without knowing I’m capable of kicking asses. Besides, I’m kinda bored with nothing better to do. Why not have fun while I’m at it?”

“He’s handsome but kinda cute,” Yoongi said, handing the phone to the others.

“He is, isn’t he?” Jimin beamed. “He didn’t even try to flirt with me you know. So far every alpha who isn’t family or a friend has tried to flirt in one way or another, even the mated ones. He only showed concern and was even responsible.”

“Are you sure you only want to have fun?” Taehyung cocked his head to the side.

“Of course.” Jimin shrugged. “You know I don’t do relationships or long term. I’ll get over him soon.”

Yoongi crossed his leg at the knee. “He’s cute and smells nice. That’s a first since your omega is too picky when it comes to alphas.”

“It’s just a phase where I’m curious. That’s all.”

Taehyung snickered. “I’m gonna write this down and tell you ‘I told you so’ when you fall head over heels for this boy.”

Jimin huffed. “Whatever.”

***

It had been a week and Jimin still stared at the texts he exchanged with Jungkook that night. He half expected the alpha to take advantage of the situation. He had his number and he could have texted, right? At least said hi. But all he got was radio silence.

The omega was already whining in his head, reminding him of the delicious scent that left him tongue-tied. He typed several messages only to delete them before he pressed send.

He was a flirty omega. He loved to take advantage of other’s weaknesses. Initiating a conversation was never hard for him. He enjoyed it even. But he couldn’t even form a proper sentence and worse he didn’t know why it was so hard to contact the alpha first.

A frustrated growl ripped out of his throat as he paced his office in Gangnam. The Park Inc. building was fifty floors tall with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a rich view of the city below. Usually, he took his time to admire the sky and the view when he was relaxed. But these days he could barely function without thinking about the doe-eyed alpha.

What the fuck is wrong with me? He is just another alpha.

But the omega thought differently. He plopped on the couch with a huff. Jimin contemplated registering at one of the gyms Jungkook worked, but Taehyung was quick to shoot it down with a scowl. The omega pouted.

He glanced at the phone again. Would Jungkook remember him? It had been a week already. What if he had never saved his number? Not possible. Jimin put his number in his phone himself. What if he had deleted it?

Another growl rumbled out of his chest just as the door to his office opened and Yoongi strode in. “What’s got your panties in a twist?”

Jimin’s scowl deepened. “Nothing.”

“Is it that alpha again?”

Jimin looked away. “No.”

“Why don’t you text him already? It’s not like you’re suddenly shy, are you?” Yoongi sported an amused look.

“I don’t text alphas first.”

Which was a blatant lie. Jimin always made the first move when he was interested. Not that any of them led to a relationship. He was never in one. His omega always fussed and rejected the alphas before it even got to that stage.

“Yeah?” Yoongi barked with laughter. “Never stopped you from flirting with them before.”

He narrowed his eyes at his friend. “Jungkook is not just any alpha.” His response was surprising to even himself.

“He’s special. I get it. What’s stopping you?”

Jimin’s shoulders slumped. “I don’t know. It’s been a week. He hasn’t dropped a single text. How long does it take for him to say hi?”

“Maybe he already has an omega.”

Jimin growled at that. “He doesn’t.”

Yoongi raised both hands in a surrendering motion. “You don’t know much about him. What if he’s dating and hadn’t made it official?”

Jimin bounced his knee and bit his lip. “You told me he’s single.”

“I only looked up at him online.”

The omega narrowed his eyes at his friend. “Don’t give me that shit. You just want a reaction from me. It’s been a week. You want me to believe that you haven’t done a background sweep already.”

Yoongi had the audacity to look smug. He always did a thorough check on anyone who came into his radar. “If you had checked your email, you’d have known that I already sent you his schedule. You could bump into him again.”

Jimin’s eyes sparkled with interest and the omega perked its ears. He was quick to access his emails, a goofy grin brightening up his entire face. “You should have told me that first.” He scrolled through the schedule, frowning when he saw the alpha was a hard worker. “Okay. He works in a gym near his home from morning six to nine. But that’s too far.”

And Jimin wasn’t a morning person. He looked at the other options. Jungkook provided personal training during the day at varied hours depending on the clients. They met in Yeongdeungpo, which was between Nakseongdae and Hwagok-dong. Maybe that was the best option for now.

He contemplated hiring him as a personal trainer, but that would mean he’d known Jimin’s real identity. What if the alpha decided he wanted nothing to do with him? Jimin shrugged off that option.

Something clicked in his mind suddenly. “Get me a job in that supermarket opposite Jungkook’s gym.” He smiled with glee. “I don’t care what you do. My timings should match with his.”

Yoongi scoffed with a knowing smile.
