Work Text:
Leng Yue's (left) clothes are based on what she wore when she went to the Emperor's tea party in episode 8, with some slight changes to the colours.
Chu Chu's (right) clothes were designed by me. They're a bit more ~costume-y than Leng Yue's. Due to the lack of surviving clothes from the Tang Dynasty, and having to reconstruct clothes from paintings and written records, there's some controversy about how certain clothes worked. The broad embroidered band going around Chu Chu's chest, held on with ties, is an existing reconstruction of how hezis worked... but it's maybe not the most likely reconstruction. ^^; Still, it's very fancy, in my opinion, and the Imperial Coroner is fairly ~costume-y show. (Chu Chu's fan is also queering the binary between bamboo and spinal bones, because she is the sort of person who would want one, and her husband is the sort of person who would make one.)
< /end historical rambling.
