Okay so I have a theory—I think that xiao must not like childe bc he’s worried about him ruining 4NEMO’s reputation. They were a unit, right? Like Aether is the best lead/visual, venti writes almost all the songs, Kazuha’s raps are lyrical and beautiful, and xiao’s dance skills are unparalleled. But like the life of an idol group can be short ya know— I mean venti was in Archon7 too before they disbanded and he started 4NEMO.
Aether and Childe’s weird unlikely friendship has made 4NEMO’s popularity soar, and Childe’s streams are getting more views than ever before too. They’re both at the height of their popularity, and it’s…fishy.
Like all of a sudden aether is on someone’s twitch stream?? And then like venti, and then all of them? I think they must have a deal. 4NEMOs fans get fed unofficial content of the four and childe gets viewers bc it’s on his stream. They’re all making $$ from it.
But xiao has always been really dedicated to the group, always wanted them to be a hit and has taken the group really seriously. We all know how he spends hours practicing and how he criticizes himself so harshly while being supportive of the other guys.
He must hate that they’re gassing up their popularity through anything other than talent. And speaking of things other than talent: childe.
I mean, cmon, he’s a fuckboy. Always posting tiktok thirst traps, always flirting on stream. He flaunts his money on insta and has even gotten aether in trouble for partying and hurting his reputation.
The dude just last week did a stream where he had like visible hickeys and a bite mark on his neck. Like dude. Inappropriate much?
So yeah, sorry for ranting. But like 4NEMO was already super talented before they started hanging around with that dude except now he’s putting all their hard work at risk with his behavior.
I don’t blame xiao for not putting up with it.

Maybe Aether and Childe became friends fast, but it seems like Childe knew xiao first.
Childe's not from liyue but he’s been living there for a while now. They could have even known each other from before, when venti was still in Archon7 for all we know.
Monocaeli also replied: and like woah childe slander. Sure, he’s flirty and not always on his best behavior on stream but he literally helped raise a million dollars for a Children’s hospital last year. And then matched it?? He literally cried when he talked about how important it was to him that kids have access to life saving medicine and treatments.
When he left the old harbinger channel, he openly admitted to struggling with mental health issues because of stress and some shit from his childhood and has since been a huge advocate for mental health in the streaming community.

Okay, hear me out. I think i know who Childe’s boyfriend or at least what we think is his bf is. It’s a little crazy I’ll admit. But hear me out. If I’m right, the whole xiao “hates” childe thing makes a lot of sense.
Okay so i need to start this way back, when Archon7 was in the height of their popularity. Like 5 years ago. We have all seen this picture of venti and xiao. Venti, of course was the youngest member of Archon7, but xiao wasn’t an idol yet. Lots of people have analyzed this pic, because it’s probably the first time two members of what became 4NEMO met that we have a record of.
Now, this pic was posted on venti’s Instagram with that caption “little bro 🍃”
We all thought that venti was referring to xiao as his little brother because we know that xiao looks up to venti and respects him as a musician. But I don’t think that’s true. Xiao was the first person venti recruited to join 4NEMO after Archon7 disbanded. He must have been associated with them in some way, right?
Well, i got to thinking, and Xiao has said on many occasions that he has older siblings. He has even explicitly mentioned an older brother that he looks up too and wants to be like. So i was thinking, well, what if his actual older brother was in Archon7. And well, besides venti, there’s only one other man in Archon7, and he’s from Liyue.
And then it all made sense. Xiao’s older brother is Zhongli, the founder and oldest member of Archon7. So OF COURSE xiao wanted to be an idol, and OF COURSE he is super dedicated to the business—he wants to continue and live up to his brothers legacy.
But, you may say, they’ve never mentioned it before, and I’d say that that makes sense too. One, we all remember the way people treated Zhongli. He was so popular that paparazzi followed him everywhere he went and his personal life was literally dissected by everyone. When he was photographed crying at his best friend Guizhong’s funeral, tabloids told everyone that they must have been secret lovers and made a spectacle out of a young woman’s untimely death from cancer.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Archon7 disbanded a few weeks later and that Zhongli practically vanished from the spotlight. His accounts still exist but they’re private and mostly inactive.
And two, wouldn’t people compare the two forever if we all knew? Xiao is extremely talented and we all know it, but maybe some people would say he didn’t work hard for success if his brother was already in the Industry. By keeping it quiet, xiao was able to make a name for himself without any baggage.
Okay okay so I know this post is really long already. But like I did some more digging with the wayback machine and found some old pictures of Zhongli as a teen, and you can see Xiao here next to Zhongli. This picture is super old, I mean xiao must be like, 7 or 8 here?
I think it makes a lot of sense. Zhongli retired from being an idol, and eventually started dating Childe, who has been following Xiao on most socials since before the founding of 4NEMO. And Childe probably met the rest of 4NEMO because of Xiao, and he became besties with Aether.
So, tbh I think I cracked the code. Xiao doesn’t hate Childe. He’s probably just fed up with being teased by someone who’s practically an older brother. Or brother-in-law, I guess.
