Work Text:
Mirana was never the jealous type until now.
She was looking forward to a lovely celebration with her friends and her gorgeous eight-month-old girlfriend Alice.
Not that Alice won't pay her any attention and dance with Tarrant.
Everyone at Marmoreal knew of the champion's love and the queen's love, nevertheless
this foolish, horrible...No, she couldn't think like that.
It wasn't right, but even so, Hatter had no right to lay his hands on her Alice.
"Well, take her back."He whispered her darkness. The White Queen was not as affectionate, good, or pure as you might say at first glance.
She might have been as cruel as Iracebeth, but she behaved differently, lest she end up alone.
Back when she was still the White Princess she feared the most solitude.Solitude strengthened her inner demon and the only thing that could destroy the demon or at least weaken it was someone's company.
Familiar,friends but mostly love.
Her Alice helped her with her psyche more than any alchemy she knew.
She would never admit it out loud, but she loved rough sex with Alice. Her Alice too.
It was a good way to release her demon without hurting anyone.Lazy drank white wine and remembered the first night she and Alice completely lost control of her demon.
She didn't even have time to remember the beginning because she heard a loud laugh.
She looked around in confusion and was heartbroken by what she saw.
Tarrant had Alice in his arms and was spinning her all round. The two of them hugged each other tight and laughed that Mirana thought...not this...not that, no, she didn't think that.
It was just a dance,it didn't mean anything...but if they had... an affair,I guess so.
Mirana hit her head internally, if only for thinking of such a thing.
It was Alice she was thinking about. Her innocent, sweet, loyal Alice.Alice would never cheat on her,her mind just played tricks on her.
Maybe the mind, but not the ears."Alice,I love you."The voice of Tarrant trembled slightly.Mirana knew by what.Nervousness.Well...as did her heart.
"I love you, too, Bro."Alice said. With these words a huge stone rose from Miran's heart.Alice did not love Tarrant, she saw him only as a brother.
She didn't know how long her mind had been on this one sentence when she felt a one known blonde hug her from behind.
"Hello, Mirana."She turned in her arms and fixed Alice with an affectionate if slightly irritated look.
"Hi Alice, are you having fun tonight?"She asked Mirana, trying to keep the rest of her doubts out of her voice.
"Yes very much but, I noticed you looked unhappy, so I wondered if you wanted to dance with me?"The last part said quite teasingly."You know,to improve the mood."
Mirana kissed Alice with a laugh. The younger woman was so adorable and didn't even realize it.
"I'd love to dance with you, Alice."
Alice's eyes sparkled after that statement. With a smile on her face, she took the Queen's hand and led her to the dance floor.
A slow song played,Mirana's favorite, which has always brought her amazing feelings. But that not matched the feelings, that she was held in the loving grip of Alice's arms.
"Alice?"
The girl in question tilted her head back to meet the Queen's eyes."Yes Mirana."
"I know what I'm about to say is stupid, but please...don't leave me."
Alice looked at Mirana in confusion. She may not have known the reason why Mirana said this, but if her beloved needed to hear the answer from her mouth, she would just do it.
"Of course Mirana,I will not leave you.You are my love, a people who cannot be replaced by anyone. Moreover, my heart beats only for you,my beautiful queen."
Mirana sighed in relief, then blushed slightly."Alice...you never rest."
The girl smiled broadly."When I have a beautiful girlfriend like you, it's hard to hold back."
Mirana didn't get a chance to answer because she saw who was approaching them.It was Hatter.
He didn't look happy, in fact he seemed as out of character to her as she was to herself today, but the way he looked was extreme.
"Alice, can we talk outside?'He said it in a falsely amiable voice that made Mirana's skin crawl.
The girl didn't seem happy with Hatter's question, but she still complied.
She went with Tarrant for a long time. She didn't know where they were going and that made her nervous.
She might ask him, but the moment she was pushed against a tree and kissed hard was irrelevant.
Hatter pulled away and looked at her face, which was filled with anger.
He knew how she felt about Mirana, and yet he kissed her.
"Why did you do it to Hatter?"
He just stared at her before he laughed cruelly.
"You're so stupid Alice, but it doesn't matter because you're my little Alice."
Fear struck Alice, and even though she knew Hatter wouldn't hurt her, she knew this wasn't Hatter.
Tarrant was still smiling cruelly at her.She wanted to ask him what he meant, but suddenly his body began to change shape.
Once his transformation was over, he showed his true face and, to her surprise, it was none other than Stayne.
She despised him, she hated him, the White Queen even had him banished, and now he was walking around in some kind of illusion, like, honestly, where was the point?
"What are you doing here, Stayne?"
She tried as hard as she could, but she couldn't entirely leave the hate out of her voice.
He immediately pulled her back by her hair and looked her in the eye with that disgusting look of his.
I wish only his gaze was disgusting on him.
"What do you think I'd be doing here, Alice?"
He asked her strangely.
She didn't want to look him in the eye.Not for fear, but knowing that if she did, she'd most likely spit in his face.
Which pissed him off.
He wanted the girl to look him in the eye and give him the attention he clearly deserved.
He let go of her hair and slapped her.She wasn't strong enough to lose consciousness, but she definitely hurt her.
"What was she for?"
She was still asking him!He was about to give her another one when he noticed her free hand reaching back and...the only sounds heard through the garden were a crunch of bones and a scream of pain.
He stumbled a few steps back, holding his nose, which was bleeding.
He had to admit that she had strength, but she was no match for him.
She could never beat someone who was so much stronger than her, and certainly no one who was twice as big.
She soon proved him wrong.
He had no chance.
He never stood a chance, but he fool had to try his luck.
"You little whore, I'll kill you!"He lunged at her, but she swerved.
She was much stronger, faster, and more impertinent than he remembered.
He never thought that if there was a fight between them, he would be the one to lose.
He tried to hit her again, but she swerved again. This time she hit back.
He was strong and somehow, from her stupid attitude, she managed to hit him in his good eye.
He cried out in both pain and anger. She was supposed to be the one who suffered, not him.
Several times she kicked him with moves he didn't even know.It took turns over and over again. His belly, his back, his belly, his back.
He couldn't even breathe anymore, and she hadn't even worked up a sweat.
It was unfair. He should have tortured her.He should have brought her to her knees and she should have begged for mercy, she should begged for him.
At the end of his torture, she should have begged to be made his whore.
She wasn't supposed to fight back. She was supposed to be his subordinate, nobody else's!
The thought of Alice being with anyone but him made him mad.
He'd heard rumors that she was the White Queen's mistress, but he didn't take them seriously, despite seeing their dance together at the ball.
There were always whispers in Underland, but such stupidity as Alice being in love with White Queen was over the line.
There were always whispers in Underland, but such stupidity as Alice being in love with White Queen was over the line.
Suddenly she stopped her attack. He wondered why, when she had almost beaten his soul out of him.He doubted she had changed her mind.
He raised his head, which was pounding horribly, as if Bandersnatch had sat on it, his blood boiling from the look ahead.
The White Queen had Alice in her arms, riding through her golden hair, whispering comforting words as if he weren't there.
Maybe the gossip wasn't that out of line.
It wasn't the best idea, because he was instantly overwhelmed with jealousy.
Jealousy so strong it made him see red.
He gathered all the strength he had left in his body and slowly very slowly pulled his sword out from under the bushes where he had left it, if Alice hadn't cooperated much.
It was a pity he didn't get it during their duel, for it would have been his now.
But there was absolutely nothing you could do about it,if he couldn't have Alice to himself,he didn't want anyone else to have her, especially not this white-haired bitch.
He got up faster than anyone in his condition could manage and turned to the couple, who took no notice of him.
Gathering all his strength, he tried to cut Alice's throat.
He was surprised when his blade stopped a few inches from Alice's neck, and even more surprised when his body rose of its own accord from the ground.
The shock of being above ground was quickly replaced by fear.He was justified because as soon as he looked the white-haired witch in the eye, he knew his fate had been sealed.
Suddenly he felt his body fly a few yards away, a sharp pain in his chest and then nothing but darkness.Eternal oblivion.
Alice couldn't help but cry out.She hated Stayne as passionately as she loved Mirana, but she wouldn't wish him what the normally kind Queen had done to him either.
She didn't have time to deal with her horror for much longer, because Mirana fell to her knees beside her and her body tore one sob after another.
Young Champion couldn't help but wrap her queen in an embrace.
Too bad the Queen was out of her mind right now, trying to get the girl away from her.
At first, just scratching, kicking even tried biting, but the girl refused to let go.
Her frantic mind chose to use magic, but instead of discouraging her Champion with a harmless spell, she sent her flying into the trees.
This brought her instantly out of her madness. She had just hurt the person she loved most in the world.
She knew it was ironic, but it was true.
She ran to Alice, who was trying to breathe. She didn't know for sure, but she felt as if she had broken several ribs.Lieing on the ground probably didn't help her,but it was much better than trying to get up.
"Alice,I'm so sorry,I didn't mean to hurt you.Sorry!Sorry!Sorry!I really didn't mean to."
Mirana knelt beside Alice, stroking her hair. She couldn't move.
She knew she should go for help, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.
She hurt Alice, so it was her duty to stay with her.
Suddenly she heard screams behind her.
She recognized Tarrant among them, but she was too dizzy to heard what he was shouting at her.
She rested her head on the girl's head beneath her and let her body relax slightly.
There was no reason to worry...at least, she tried to convince herself of it.
Alice was still coughing and gasping madly, but Mirana was using every ounce of magic, as well as unconsciously her life energy, which was left in her body to take away her Champion's pain.
Alice's breathing slowed, she no longer coughed, nor choked. Her last thought before the darkness consumed her was whether Mirana was all right.
Hatter and several white guards searched the garden.
After Stayne tied him up in a little-used castle prison, he thought he wouldn't get out in time to warn Alice and the White Queen.
He didn't really get to their warnings in time, but he hoped to at least get to their rescue in time.
It was a mean thing Stayne did to him to get to Alice.Statyne's words about Alice's suffering kept ringing in his head when he heard a loud scream.
He knew instantly it was Alice. No one in Underland had such a thick English accent.
The white soldiers ran with him to where they heard shouting. It was a little-used alley in the vast Marmoreal Gardens that already looked suspicious even at first sight.
He called their names, but got no answer.
The silence, which was strange for such a busy marble garden, increased the search team's nervousness.
They feared the worst, but their fears were initially allayed when they saw them lying on the ground.
Unfortunately, the state they were in frightened everyone even more than before.
Hatter assessed the situation. He could help the soldiers transfer them to the castle, or he could mobilize the healers to prepare a room of medicines for them.
He decided on a healer as soon as he saw Alice's condition.
"I am going to prepare the Healer. You, meanwhile, carefully transfer our Queen and Champion to the Queen's kitchen."
The soldiers nodded unambiguously. They did not question Tarrant's choice of kitchen as a place to heal their ruler and her protector, moreover, not when they had so, on sight, serious injuries.
That was all Tarrant needed to confirm, and he ran for the lock.Like the others, he ignored Stayne, who was lying on the ground..
In record time, they got the room ready.
Even before the soldiers came with the wounded, the healers mixed some medicinal ointments.
Potions, too, of course, but they'd be hard to serve if they'd been unconscious for a long time.
The thoughts of everyone in the rooms stopped as soon as the white soldiers came running and the healers looked at their queen and, above all, Alice.
It was slight when Alice was dressed in only slightly burnt clothing, but as soon as she was undressed they saw a severe burn that was too close to her heart.
Healers wondered how she had survived, considering the ribs that punctured her lung and this small, if fatal, wound.
Realization caught up with them like a tsunami.
None other than the White Queen could do this spell. No one else in Underland could give their life energy to another being, lest that person die.
Soon their shock faded and their cold-confident manner returned.
They had more to do with Alice than with Mirana, but even so, the queen gave them a good time.
The problem was, if someone was powerful enough to pass on life energy, they had to get back the energy they needed, or they died.
Fortunately, there were more than a few powerful objects in Underland from which this energy could be extracted, so a group of highly experienced doctors in Underland called healers had it quickly resolved.
The bigger problem was with Alice, but they still did their best to keep the Queen from being angry with them.
Besides, none of them would forgive themselves if the legendary Champion of Underland died in their care.
…
Hatter sat with the others a room away, waiting impatiently for medical updates on the condition of her friends.
All Underland knew what had happened.About the vicious attack by Stayne and the wounding of the Queen and Alice.
No one blamed Tarrant...except himself.
His eyes began to have an orange tinge, but as soon as Mally pricked his toe, he returned to his "normal" state.
"Mally didn't have to do this to herself, I wouldn't go into a frenzy."Tarrant muttered irritably.
"Very dubious, Hatter."A little mouse told him with a grin.
Tarrant wanted to retort another snarky reply, but the Tweedles, who had been silent for the time being, began to cry.
Instead of upsetting others, the move also made them sad.
They didn't realize it, but a few tears began to roll down their faces.Even the normally cold Chessur had a grim look on his face.
He's never been hurt in history, both Champion and Queen of Underland at the same time.
It reminded everyone of a failure they had accidentally committed.
Before they could blame themselves more the chief medical officer, named Danix Winter, entered the room.
"We managed to stabilize them both. Both the Queen and Campion will be fine, but Lady Alice's treatment will take longer."
This has lifted everyone's spirits.
Screams of excitement rang through the room.Even a blind man could see the joy of the room's inhabitants.
"Can we go see them?"Surprisingly, it was Chess who asked that question.
The young doctor smiled, but shook his head.
The move brought a puzzled look to their faces.
"You can't visit them right now. They need time to heal, and only the Queen is awake, refusing...to leave her Champion's side."
This didn't surprise anyone but Hatter had to ask the doctor something.
"Is the damage to Alice's chest serious?"
No one else knew what she was talking about because they had not been informed of her injuries, but the doctor and the good healer understood.
"Lady Alice won't have any lasting effects, but she certainly can't be too burdened for a few more months, that could hurt her a lot."
Hatter sighed in relief. The wound on his chest and the whiteness of Alice's skin startled him when he saw them.
"Thank you, Doctor."
The doctor just nodded and left the room.
The Tweedles were the first to leave the rooms, followed by Thackeray with a large cup of tea and shouts of joy. Then Mally went to go to her dollhouse, which she had been living in since Mirana had given her a job at the castle.
The only people left in the end were Tarrant and Chess, which was a bit odd, but neither of them took any notice. They were too busy thinking that might or might not have happened...okay, even thinking about that bastard Stayne was never good.
…
Mirana sat next to the younger girl on the girl's bed, which was really just a mattress on the floor.
Despite all the doctors' persuasion, she refused to go to sleep. She knew her healers were right when they kept telling her to go to bed, but there was only one priority in her mind, not to leave Alice.
Besides, she was sure that if she tried to go to bed her conscience wouldn't let her.
Alice paid for her lack of control, so she had no right to lose it again.
She herself did not know how she had come to the conclusion that if she left Alice's side, she would go mad, but deep down she knew it.
Thank God she wasn't so out of it that she missed the painful moaning and movement of Alice in bed.
She looked at Alice with both joy and fear. She wasn't sure if the younger woman would be mad at her for what she had done to her...or afraid of her...or hated her or...had to stop thinking that way, because her heart wouldn't last either
Alice felt sick. Her chest was hurting and she kept hearing the ringing in her ears, even though she tried to get rid of it or at least open her eyes, but neither of them worked.
She groaned and tried vainly to open her eyes.It was only after about the fifth attempt that she opened them and saw a blurred figure beside her bed.
After a while she recognized her as Mirana. She wanted to get up and hug her, but the pain that went through her chest when she tried to sit up prevented her from doing so.
This move caught the attention of the Queen, who only looked at her before she began to cry.
Alice made no attempt to sit up this time but took Miran's hand, which she reached and kissed on the palm of her hand.
Mirana looked at her in astonishment before hugging her, gently, of course, so as not to hurt her, but still with her whole body.
Alice sacrificed the hug.The pain she felt a moment ago dissolved as if it had never existed.
"Alice...I'm so sorry.I'm...I'm...I'm sorry for what I did to you,I didn't mean to."
She couldn't look the girl in the eye.She didn't want to see what the younger woman thought of her.
"Mirano, you have nothing to apologize for, so I wouldn't be alive if it weren't for you."
"But if Alice hadn't been me, you'd still be on the lookout and beat that villain ... instead ... to ... I kill him."
She said the last part in a whisper, yet a voice that didn't belong to Alice answered.
"Love, you didn't kill anyone."Said Chess, who materialized over the front of Alice's bed.
She was a little startled when he appeared, but his words made her feel several emotions at once.
Blessedly, when she spoke, her voice did not tremble."About what are you talking,Chess?"
The cat smiled his big smile and answered."You couldn't kill him when he had a heart attack, love."
They both looked at him strangely and said in surprising synchronization, "He had a heart attack?"
They looked at each other for a moment before looking expectantly at the levitating cat.
"Alice you're Stayna . . . shall we say she beat up?"
The blonde didn't understand what he was implying, but she nodded anyway.
"And Mirana sent him flying into the trees?"
At this the Queen nodded uncomfortably.
"It's just that neither of you hit him fatally, am I right?"
For that, they both advanced their shoulders as best they could in their position.
"I'll take that as a yes."Chess said, doing slow laps with his body in the air.
Both attributed it more to a way of thinking than anything else.
"So if you didn't even hit him fatally, he couldn't have been killed by either of you.Do you understand what I'm trying to tell you?"
They both thought about it and decided they were too tired to think about it properly.
"Nah, we don't really know."She answered for both Miranas because Alice didn't want to get involved in the cat mind game.
"I mean, love-"he deliberately took a dramatic pause-"that you didn't break your promise.Everyone was informed about it,just about not breaking your promise, otherwise they stay in the dark about everything else.I didn't want to publish anything that would make you uncomfortable,so you can-of course when you get well-make an official statement yourself."
Mirana couldn't believe it and pinched her hand. This drew laughter from her companions.
Mirana kissed Alice.
Chess knew his presence was no longer welcome, so he vanished.
Alice smiled into the kiss. That ended when the Queen touched her ribs.
"You know, I thought it was weird that I wasn't petrified for breaking my promise."
Mirana said it as if commenting on the weather, which didn't surprise Alice, given that Mirana had taken her vows as a child for fear of harming any living being with her fascination with death.
"Isn't that . . . well . . . ?"She asked.Really unsure what she could say without inadvertently offending Mirana.
Mirana nodded with a gentle smile, truly fascinated by the beauty of the younger girl, even when she was in such a state.
The younger girl watched her and waited for her to speak. The Queen made no movement, but did not speak, just savoring the moment.
Alice understood as soon as Mirana put her head in the bend of her neck and snuggled up to her.
The queen didn't have to talk for Alice to understand, and Alice didn't have to explain her concerns for the queen to understand.
Their souls were so connected that Mirana didn't have to explain to her why she followed them, that it was out of jealousy and Alice didn't have to explain her concerns about Mirana's mental health.
They just let their minds relax and enjoy the peace they had when they hugged.
They didn't notice their friends watching them with wacky smiles on their faces.
They didn't even notice the loud closing of the door and the laughter drifting down the hall.
They were too self-absorbed to notice this kind of stupidity, because as long as they had each other and their love burned in a powerful flame, no one could beat them.
Not even the strongest evil that ever existed, because they had each other, their friends, and kingdoms to care for, so as long as there was, at least one bright spot, no evil could separate them.
End
