Summary:

Daida has recovered his body, he has changed and wants to do his best. He decides to train to be able to use his healing power well. He then asks his mother to train him but he doesn't understand why he can't even heal a tiny wound.

Notes:

day 2 of ousama ranking week!!!!!!!!!
i chose "power" because i started to appreciate daida and I really like the fact that he can use the healing power like his mother!!
so I just wanted to make it a little difficult when in the end it's very simple because i like to think that daida is sometimes stupid
i wrote this before 22 or 23 (i forgot which ep) and I didn't expect him to look so??? kind i dont know

Work Text:

Hiling knew very well that her son, Daida, was going to inherit her powers. He’s still his son and one day or another, he will awaken his powers. But she didn't expect it to happen so soon and especially that it would be Bosse who would open the way for him.

This open path really frustrated Daida. He would have preferred to awaken his power on his own, but it's too late, he must not think about it anymore, some people will continue their life as it always was, and others will be able to start it again. This is what Daida will decide. His sojourn in the darkness has changed him, he is no longer the same as before and he is going to start his life over again. He wants to be able to use his healing power correctly, it's still a very important power and he doesn't want to let that slip away.
Daida then decides to go find her mother and ask her to train her. He looked for her everywhere in the castle, the more he looked for her the more the motivation came to him. Daida found his mother not far from where Bosse had destroyed the wall when he was fighting his son, Bojji.

"Mother! I was looking for you everywhere!”, shouted Daida.

“Daida? What's going on?”, asked Hiling.

“I would like to ask you something, would it be possible for you to train me? For my healing power. Please,” Daida said while looking away. He's not used to asking things like that, he finds it embarrassing.

“With pleasure, but I believed that you could use it as you wish? You can't do it at all?", asked Hiling.

“To tell you the truth… I had a hard time using it well, I tried on myself when my hand got cut, but it turns out that it doesn't heal me at all.”, he said, still embarrassed.

“Oh, I see, in that case, I would give you workouts! You better prepare for it! We start tomorrow in the training room,” she announced. "Now out of my way, with the renovations to the castle, it's dangerous, I don't want you getting anything on your head."

The next day, on Daida's side, he prepared for the sessions that his mother was going to give him. He would have liked to talk with Bebin before going to join his mother, but it seems that he is not available.
On Hiling's side, it's more complicated, she never trained anyone, and how to train Daida if there is nothing and no one to heal? She wasn't going to hurt anyone on purpose, that would be absurd. She then gathered the big four and about twenty guards.

“Whenever you get hurt, whether it matters or not, I want you to come see me! No matter the injury, a blow to the head, a cut, a bruise, whatever! I even accept injured animals. Spread the word to others. Those are orders!”, Hiling ordered.

This is how the sessions to train Daida began.
At first it was just cats that got their paws stuck and cut themselves. As Daida had announced he could activate his power but he was not healing, so he decides to stop to ask his mother what was wrong, but he restrained himself when he noticed his mother thinking hard.

“Hmm…Keep healing the little cat Daida…Don’t stop.” Hilling said.
He continued to heal the cat, which was beginning to get bored. After a few minutes, tiredness was felt in Daida to the point that his legs no longer held and he faints. Hiling caught up with Daida and took him back to his room.

Daida woke up with a start. He didn't remember falling asleep. How long has he slept? He remember that he was healing a cat. He got up and got ready to search his mother. On the way, he sees Apeas.

“You are finally awake, Prince Daida.” Apeas said.

"Finally? How long have I slept?” asked Daida.

"Since noon yesterday. And we are in the morning. Your mother is waiting for you in the training room.” Apeas replied.

“Oh… Good, thank you.” whispered Daida. He walked away from Apeas and wondered why had he slept so much? He had never slept so much in his life. “Oh. It’s because of my power.” he realized.

When he finally found his mother, she explained to him that after he fell asleep, she had looked at the cat's wound and that his wound had reduced a little bit. Joy flashed across Daida's face.

"I was surprised when you told me your power doesn't heal, but it’s not something bad, your power heals but at a slower rate. You will first have to increase your energy reserve, you cannot even last five minutes.” Hiling announced.

The sessions were similar for several weeks to the point that all the people of the castle came to be treated. Even the big four.

First Apeas, “Apeas? Do you need treatment too?” Daida asked.

"Yeah, don't worry, I just hurt myself during my training." Apeas replied.

"Oh, is that all? I expected more from you."

Then Dorshe, “After Apeas, it’s you, Dorshe? Yet you are very strong. », declared Daida.

"I don't have any injuries in particular, it's related to my foot. It still gives me some pain. Usually it's your mother who takes care of it but it could help you with your training if you take care of it." Dorshe said.

“I see, I hope it gets better, I will try to do my best.” Daida answered.

Unlike the session with Apeas, the one with Dorshe went much better, Daida found it encouraging for him but he has to continue like this.

After Dorshe, it is the turn of Domas. “What wound is it this time?” sighed Daida.

"Oh...I was helping with the renovation of the castle, I was carrying a big brick and it fell on my foot..." Domas whispered.

“You dropped a brick? How? That doesn't look like you.” Daida said.

"Oh it's nothing, Hokuro had to decide to call me, and it just distracted me. Nothing else.” replied Domas.

“Distracted? How can he distract you so easily by calling you?” asked Daida.

"It's nothing at all, Prince Daida, don't worry about it...", answered Domas, embarrassed.

Finally, it was Bebin, but unlike the other three, it is not surprising on his part. He very often finds himself with bites from several animals such as cats, but mostly from his snakes.

“Which animal today?” asked Hiling.

"Just one of the snakes, I thought I could come and participate in Daida's training." Bebin replied.

After all these sessions, Daida sighed. These sessions are all the same and it is found not at all useful. The big four do not need his care at all, it is not a few small wounds that will weaken them. He got impatient and tried to find a solution. He asked Miranjo but she couldn't give him an answer. This healing power has always come naturally to her.
He thought of Despa. Bojji had told him about his way of doing things and how he was able to show him extraordinary things. His explanations were vague but he got the idea. He thinks about it for a few seconds to immediately abandon the idea. He doesn't even know if Despa knows anything about healing power and he certainly has more important things to do.

During another training session, the fatigue returned and Daida had an idea.
"Wouldn't it be better if I could use one of your mana potions to continue using my power and improve my energy reserve?" asked Daida.

"No way. It won't help you at all, that's not how you can improve your reserve. And you shouldn't depend too easily on that. The most important thing is to understand what is blocking you and causing you to take too long to heal.” Hiling replied.

His session ended earlier, today there were not many people to heal. On his way to his room, he met his big brother Bojji. He was walking around peacefully that he had forgotten about the renovations of the castle.

“Big brother, watch out!” cried Daida unsuccessfully since Bojji couldn’t hear.

A rock, neither too big nor too small, fell on another small stone next to Bojji, which ricocheted off his face and cut him. Daida ran to her brother to see if he was okay.

"Are you okay? You have something on your face, let me heal you.” Daida said. Worry crept across his face.

"Don't worry, I don't have anything." replied Bojji.

Daida tried to heal Bojji, and he understood what he did wrong. All those sessions that seemed useless to him, all those times he couldn't properly treat a ridiculous wound. The answer has never been so simple. Of the big four, it was only Dorshe where there were results, it was because he wanted to relieve him of his pains, unlike a Domas who had only hurt his foot, treatments was not especially necessary.
Even all the people in the castle who had come only for a scratch, Daida didn't take it seriously because it healed itself in a few days.
But he understood when he treated Bojji who also had just a tiny ridiculous wound.
He just had to heal on his own, not because he felt obliged by his sessions.

“Ah… It was as simple as that… I’m really stupid.”, he sighed.
