Chapter Text
Today was just not Izuku's day. First, his boyfriend Daichi had decided it was a good idea to argue followed by what he likes to call a love tap so he had to put on make-up to hide the reminder. Now not only is he behind getting to work, but he'll be opening the cafe alone because Ren called out saying he was "sick" for the third day in the row. Sighing he finally reaches his place, Chibi's, and rushes in and starts setting up the tables, register, and then gets to work in the kitchen starting on prep.
After most of his simple dishes are prepped, he sets up the display for the deserts that luckily today were mainly his frequently bought cookies, little slices of pie or cake he'd just made last night after close. While most cafes did sell food Izuku liked selling breakfast, lunch, and dinner meaning the little omega would prep between each meal time so people could eat fresh. It also helped people loved his food especially when he'd bring out local favorite's his parents had first started. A little after 7am he flipped the sign to open and took his chalkboard outside showing the fresh deserts for the day along with the lunch special. Today was a favorite he loved to make his own little recipe for Spicy Tuna Donburi Rice Bowl he made two batches since some said it was a little to spicy last time he'd made this dish, but he loved it. Just as he was about to go back inside he noticed a black and orange motorcycle pull up to the building where the new tattoo and piercing shop was opening around lunch today so it must be the owner. Not one to be rude the greenett gets an idea for a small welcome gift.
Katsuki had just seen the most gorgeous fucking man he'd had the privilege to lay eyes on. He watched as he went back inside the cafe before taking off his helmet he smirked as shut off his bike and goes to unlock the shop door taking in the newly remodeled building as he flips on the lights and sets his helmet down. He honestly didn't have to be here yet, but he was ready to at least see everything before setting up for opening at noon. He hears a knock on the shop door and makes his way back to the front and smirks when he sees the man he'd seen before holding something. Opening it he rakes his eyes over the shorter male taking in messy green curls, bright green eyes, and cute freckles littering his cheeks giving the blonde a shy smile."
"Um I hoped I'm not bothering you, I'm Izuku Midoriya I own Chibi's next door."
"Katsuki Bakugou, but you can call me Katsuki I just here to get this place ready to open at noon. Did you want to make an appointment or something?"
If the gorgeous angel hadn't stole his attention with his looks alone the sound of the sweetest laugh he heard definitely did something to his heart rate. Izuku shook his head giggling.
"Okay Katsuki you can call me Izuku then! As for an appointment I don't think pregnant Omega goes well with a new tattoo. I wanted to bring you something as a welcome gift! I wasn't sure what you might like so I brought you a free cup of coffee, but if you got time you get one free meal if you want."
Katsuki nodded as he accepted taking the to go cup sipping it and smirks, "Not bad. I'll pop in for dinner later save some of that Spicy Rice Bowl you got wrote on the board I love my shit spicy. Once you have that pup I'll return the favor. "
He watches as the little omega brlushes with a smile, "If I run out I can just make you a fresh bowl it's no trouble, but I gotta get back over there I get busy pretty early."
With a small wave Izuku walks off not realizing the tall blonde was watching him walk away with that smirk still plastered on his lips. Izuku had just got back to the cafe as a few people started trickling in which in hindsight it was okay, but he knew he'd be screwed if anyone else called out today. Luckily by 9am both of his friends walked in and immediately clocked in once they saw the other trying to take orders and get others out all on his own. Shinsou was the only other one allowed to cook so he made his way into the kitchen as Todoroki took Izuku's place taking orders so the greenett could go help the other in the kitchen so they could get everyone's orders out.
Meanwhile, Katsuki had seen two of his packmates walk in the cafe next door with a furrowed brow, did they know about the place and didn't think to fucking tell him about the gorgeous omega that worked there?! He's pulled from his thoughts as the rest of his pack of idiots come through the door when Sero and Denki make their way inside the alpha makes his way to them.
"Oi! Why the fuck did Eyebags and Icyhot go next door? Thought they wanted to see the place?"
Sero grins shaking his head, "Bro they work there with their friend Midoriya. He inherited the place when his parents passed a few years ago. Do you seriously not remember them talking about him on pack night?"
"Tch, if I did I wouldn't be fucking asking jackass! How come I'm the only fucker who hasn't met him before?!"
Denki laughs patting his shoulder, "To be fair Blasty none of us have actually met him. We only know about him because our mates work there, but from what Hitoshi tells me he's pretty shy and antisocial due to his boyfriend."
Great so the angel next door has a boyfriend and he's expecting. Oh well he can still be close to him right? Something about him as his instincts screaming to protect ever since he laid eyes on him when he pulled up at the shop earlier. Shaking his head he just tells everyone to make sure their stations are set up and has Jirou to make sure the speakers are fixed for the music to come through without it being to loud. Over at the cafe the three share a sigh as things begin to slow down so they can clean up from their small breakfast rush and Izuku can make the first batch of the spicy rice bowl for lunch as the other two prep and clean dishes.
"Izuku where's Ren?" Todoroki asks as he moves to help the smaller male prep the last of the ingredients for lunch when Shinsou stops by the two listening in.
"He said he was sick."
"Zuku this is the third day in a row this week alone. I don't trust him." Shinsou says as he touches his shoulder gently. "I know he's your boyfriend's friend or whatever but Daichi can't expect you to keep him hired on if he's barely working. This isn't good for you or the pup."
"I know. I just I hate arguing about Ren with him all because that's his friend. On the bright side I got finished training the new hires yesterday."
Before they can continue their talk the bell chimes as someone enters the cafe and Shinsou groans a soft kill me now. Laughing they get back to work and the rest of their day seems to run smoothly with another rush just as lunch starts when Izuku notices people heading inside next door meaning they had officially opened as well. By the time evening rolls around things have slowed down a bit when the bell chimes over the door Izuku is in the front when he looks up to greet the customer he sees the blonde alpha from earlier.
"Hey finally got time to eat. Still got some of that Spicy rice bowl you had on the board Izuku?"
Katsuki smirks as the other smiles brightly, "Yeah give me one second Katsuki."
He watches as he heads to the kitchen when Shinsou pops up. "Hey hot head why not just bring the pack over and eat together. It's about to be closing time soon."
"Tch their headed over Eyebags. They were just cleaning up their stations after I finished up."
Just as he said it the rest of the group was there. Kirishima and Mina were talking with Jirou while Denki blew a kiss to his mate and Sero was busy looking at the menu on the wall. Shouto was making his way to the register flirting away with Sero as he took everyone else's orders when Izuku came out holding a tray with a steaming bowl of food.
"Here you go Katsuki. I'll warn you now it's pretty spicy. What did you want to drink?"
"Good thing I fucking love spicy shit then, and I'll take a soda not very picky really."
Izuku makes him a drink setting it on the tray with his food smiling at him, "Here, oh, and since you love spicy stuff let me know what you think, ok?"
Katsuki just gives him a nod as he takes the tray so the man can help Shinsou with making food for his pack of idiots. By the time the last meal is handed out Izuku flips the sign to closed as he brings in the board from outside setting it to the side. Shinsou and Shouto were making sure prep was done for in the morning just in case the omega had to open alone again while Izuku closed out the register and separating the tips evenly for the two. Denki being Denki walked over to the counter to finally talk to his mate's friend.
"It's nice to finally meet you Midoriya! I'm Shinsou's mate Denki and the beta over there with black hair is Sero he's Shouto's mate! They talk about you a lot!"
The shorter omega smiled at him shyly, "It's nice to meet both of you! Shouto and Hitoshi talk about you both a lot too! "
"You're welcome to come sit with us once your done! Our pack is pretty chill even if Bakugou can be a hot head."
"OI FUCK YOU DUNCE!!"
Izuku giggles softly along with Kirishima and Mina joining in. Once the prep was done Shinso and Todoroki had made their own small plates of food before joining their mates followed by Izuku bringing their tips with a smile.
"Split even for you two today!"
"Izuku you know you don't have to do that when you need the extra for the pup." the duo haired beta said with a soft smile.
Shaking his head the freckled male just smiles sweetly, "Don't worry Sho I got my savings put back for the pup and Daichi got his promotion he just hasn't had time to help out is all."
Katsuki watched the two of his pack mates share a disagreeing look and he felt the same. What kind of fucking alpha didn't help out their pregnant boyfriend? He wouldn't say mate since there wasn't a bond or even a mate claiming bite on his neck that he can see. Not letting his scent become to much he reigns in the anger to clear his throat after finishing the food.
"This spicy rice bowl was pretty fucking good Izuku."
This causes his pack mates to gape over at the blonde which causes Izuku to tilt his head confused by their looks of shock when Kirishima speaks up.
"Bro your food really is amazing, but Bakubro never compliments anybody! You must be magic!"
Giggling a light blush dusts over freckled cheeks at the redheaded alpha's words when he smiles that shy sweet smile back to Katsuki, "I'm really glad you enjoyed it Katsuki! That's actually one of my own recipes."
"Shit then I guess I'll have to order it again soon."
Kirishima looks between the two watching as the little omega blushes from Bakugou's words when he also notices Todoroki and Shinsou nodding as they watch their pack alpha with their friend.
"It's on the menu today it was just up as as a special, but I make other spicy stuff too. Shouto and Toshi use to pick on me in school for liking spicy things to much."
Before the blonde can comment the bell chimes over the door as a tall man with brown shaggy hair that looks messy and a suit with a few buttons undone he stared at the group as if he was above them before clearing his throat with smug grin.
"Deku I thought I told you to close early tonight?"
The group watches as the greenett seems to fold in on himself but keeping a small smile as he turns to face the alpha watching them. "I'm sorry Daichi we kind of got a big rush once Katsuki's shop opened next door and Ren-"
"Ren was sick I know I dropped by to give him some soup since you couldn't be bothered to do it at lunch time. I'm sure Shinsou or Todoroki won't mind closing for the night since we have plans."
"But they just got off and their mates are here. Daichi we can still make it in time after they leave-"
Shinsou reaches out touching his shoulder giving him a comforting smile letting out soothing phermones as the omega had begun to work himself up without realizing it.
"It's alright Zuku. We'll close so you can go with Daichi remember not to stress it's not helping you or the pup."
"Okay, but I promise tomorrow you two can leave early I know it's your pack night."
They share a quick hug as the group watches the freckled omega saying their goodbyes as he's tugged out the door by Daichi. Katsuki's scowl never left his face during the entire interaction he didn't like the way that man was talking or treating Izuku. Why was it Izuku's problem that he couldn't leave during a rush to feed this Ren person and why the hell did he not even care about seeing his pregnant boyfriend becoming stressed? His thoughts are interrupted by a low growl from Hitoshi as he stands up to begin cleaning off their table along with Todoroki.
"Hito? Babe what's wrong?"
"That fucker doesn't give a fuck about my bestfriend or the fact he's carrying his pup! He's more worried about fucking Ren who's 'sick' for the third day in a row and gets pissed because we were to slamed at lunch for Izuku to take the lazy fuck food."
Huffing he walks away to cool off as his pheromones become scented with rage when Mina asks softly, "Why did he call him Deku?"
Todoroki being the one wiping off the table since the plates were taken sighed, "That asshole has been calling him that for a while now it means useless, but Izuku is anything though he doesn't see it that way. Daichi is a prick and Ren is his longtime friend that he pretty much fought over getting a job here. Me and Hitoshi hate his guts and Izuku just does his best to keep the peace for him and Daichi, but honestly he can do better even if he doesn't believe it thanks to that asshole. I just know Ren flaunts he's an omega like no tomorrow and what Ren wants he gets when it comes to making Izuku unhappy lately."
Katsuki stands to help the two clean up after their pack sighing, "Well I don't fucking know what it is but I don't trust that fucker."
Once the cafe is locked up for the night they all walk back to the shop to their vehicles when Kirishima nudges him, "I saw the way you two were looking at each other. It's your alpha instincts isn't it?"
"Fuck, Red, look I saw him when I first got here and I felt like I'd been punched in the fucking gut. All my alpha was yelling at me to do was to protect him and sure it does it for the pack, but with him it felt like fucking more. Like fuck if I can explain it but I'd kick that shithead's ass if it made him happy. I didn't smell his scent, but part of me feels like I'd die happily smelling it everyday."
The redhead just claps his shoulder with a grin, "Hey man I get it. I felt the same when I first met Mina in college and she was dating that moron of an ex. Just because he's pupped by that ass doesn't mean he should stick by him."
Their conversation is interrupted by Shinsou when the purple haired male walks over, "Katsuki I never ask for shit but on days me or Shouto don't work can you or one of the other's check in on him? I know you all saw how he changed around Daichi and I'm fighting my instincts not to kick his ass, but I think he's doing something to him."
Katsuki felt his own instincts rise at the thought of the greenett being hurt as a low growl passed his lips when he merely nodded. Everyone made silent agreement from that growl they'd definitely be keeping an eye out for the sweet omega next door. Meanwhile a block over a freckled greenett was curled up holding his still small stomach protectively as he silently cried himself to sleep beside an already sleeping alpha not caring about the new bruises on his skin or the new black eye or busted lip he was sporting all he cared was his pup was okay. He just had to find a way to get out of this before neither of them made it out alive.
