Chapter Text

       Riddle had informed you a week ago that his dorm mates would be coming to spend their vacation at your house. You were a bit surprised your mother had allowed him to, but then again, with Riddle becoming House Warden of Heartslabyul, your mother had become a little more tolerant.

      On the day your brother and his friends were supposed to arrive you donned some nice clothes and waited patiently by the door. The first person that came through the door was Riddle, dressed in his dorm uniform, not a single stain or wrinkle blemishing his appearance. Your mother practically glowed with pride when she saw him. After him entered a boy around your age, with dark orange hair and red eyes.

      His eyes scanned the house and he let out a whistle. "You have a nice place, House Warden." He turned towards your mother and hesitated for a moment. "Nice to meet you, ma'am. I'm Ace Trappola." Your mother wrinkled her nose slightly but greeted him nonetheless.

     Following Ace was another boy with navy blue hair and cyan eyes. He seemed much more respectful, introducing himself as Deuce Spade. He was followed by Cater Diamond, an older boy with light orange hair and green eyes who immediately snapped a picture and posted it to Magicam.

   Finally, the last boy entered, and you couldn't help the smile that appeared on your face. Trey Clover, who several years ago had snuck Riddle out to his family's bakery. Though he'd been banned from seeing Riddle, he always made sure wave at the two of you and sometimes sneak you cake when your mother wasn't home. After an awkward greeting he followed Riddle to the guest room and you were left to prepare dinner.

            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "Everyone wait before you dig in!" Cater cried as the plates were brought to the guest room. "I want to commemorate our first meal at Riddle's house with a picture!" The other boys rolled their eyes but they all piled around Cater's phone, making silly faces as he tried to fit the food into frame as well.
   "Shouldn't the chef be included in the shot?" Trey asked, glancing over at you.
   "Oh, no, it's fine!" You protested, but Ace and Deuce quickly agreed and they adjusted their pose to fit you in as well.
    "Will you be eating with us?" Deuce asked.
    "I don't want to intrude," you stated.
    "You're not intruding," Trey said, pulling up a chair for you to sit. You smiled and sat as the boys began piling their plates with food, all healthy as your mother had ordered, but delicious nonetheless.
    "So where are you going to school?" Ace asked, his mouth full of food. "You're our age, right?"
    "I am, I think," you replied. "I'm studying at home. Mother is teaching me how to do basic healing."
    "Really? I thought you'd be going to a fancy academy like Riddle," Cater smiled.
     You felt the heat rise in your cheeks. "I'm not very good at magic," you admitted. "So mother decided it was for the best if she taught me instead. I've always said Riddle must've taken my portion of magic when he was born," you joked.
     Riddle rolled his eyes and regarded you with affection. "You're good enough. I'm sure if you went to Night Raven you'd outrank Ace and Deuce easily."
     "Hey!" Ace protested as everyone laughed. After the meal, they all say around talking before Trey turned towards you.
     "We're thinking of going to my family's bakery tomorrow. Would you like to come with us?"
     "I'd love to, but mother will need my help with some patients tomorrow." Was it just you or did he look disappointed? Certain you must have imagined it, you cleared the plates and then headed towards your room.
        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      As Trey got ready for bed, his thoughts drifted towards you. The last time he'd seen you, you were half his height and ridiculously shy. He still remembered how wide your eyes had gotten the day he and Chenya had smuggled a cherry tart through the window for your birthday. Riddle had told you all about the slice he'd had his first day out with them, and your excitement to try it was palpable.

      But now you were slightly taller than Riddle, and though you were still shy, it made Trey smile to see you joking along with the rest of the Heartslabyul boys. It was a pity you weren't going to an academy. Trey was certain you'd flourish if you were just given the chance. His smile grew wider as he imagined you at Night Raven, learning to cast spells and fly a broomstick. He had no doubt you'd surpass many of the students and surprise yourself and your family with your talents.

     "What's got you so happy?" Cater asked, snapping him out of his reverie.

     "I'm just thinking about tomorrow," Trey replied, trying to act nonchalant.

     "I'm sure you are. You should bring her a slice."

     "Huh?"

     "(Y/N. You should bring her a slice of tart tomorrow since she can't come. I'm sure it'd make her very happy." Cater nudged Trey teasingly and climbed into bed. "Goodnight."

     "Goodnight." Trey thought about Cater's suggestion. He was right. It probably would make you very happy. He nodded to himself as if that settled the matter. He couldn't wait to make you smile tomorrow.
