Summary: The Aizawa-Yamada family gets snowed in their car and it’s freezing cold outside. Hitoshi, the reason as to why they were out in the first place, can get them out. It comes with some high prices that Hitoshi really wanted to keep to himself until after graduation and after they move in together.

Why must his boyfriend be so hot?

Disclaimer: I own zero rights to the My Hero Academia franchise.

Author’s Note: This story is inspired by another story titled Winter Savior by Quotewithhope. It has also been super cold where I live with next week hopefully being normal so some of the ice can melt and vanish. This story is also free written so it does not have a storyline in which I am following.

~~Story Begins~~

Hitoshi knew he was grounded once they got back to warmth and safety. He knew it without a doubt, but still, he didn’t have to like the fact that he was going to be grounded. Usually, he could handle the grounded punishments as his sweet boyfriend would always find ways of getting around the punishments. Like allowing Hitoshi to use his HOOP subscription to watch his anime shows on his phone and the fact that his boyfriend specifically got HOOP for Hitoshi to use made his gay heart flutter with delight. Or when he loses his coffee privileges and his boyfriend just sneaks him a travel mug filled with the sweetest and creamiest coffee Hitoshi has ever had and it’s still hot like it was freshly brewed. His boyfriend doesn’t even care for sweets all that much so Hitoshi has to tell his heart to stop trying to get his ribcage with the knowledge his boyfriend buys him the sweetener and creams for him only.

Now he can imagine his punishment being not being allowed to see his boyfriend at all.

If only he took up his boyfriend’s offer of returning the public library books for him then this could have been avoided.

“Daddy,” his sweet little sister said from her child seat between chattering teeth. “I’m cold.”

“I know, sweetie,” their Pops, or Yamada Hizashi, the pro Hero Present Mic, said, taking off his jacket and draping it over her as he looked over the front passenger seat. “Just hold on a little bit longer. We’re trying to figure something out.”

Hitoshi looked down at his mobile device when their Dad, Aizawa Shouta, the pro Hero Eraserhead, looked in the rearview mirror at him. Aizawa clicked a button on his phone and sighed.

“The emergency response unit will be three hours out and that is at a minimum,” Aizawa said. “Other emergencies that are more pressing will of course take higher priority.”

Hitoshi flipped his phone around nervously in his hands. He looked up as his Pops looked back over at his Dad.

“We cannot wait that long,” Yamada said. “The temperature is still dropping as we speak and our trunk door is frozen shut that has our blankets.”

“We can’t make it back to UA or home on foot either,” Aizawa said back.

Hitoshi unlocked his phone and went to his phone keypad, speed dialing someone.

“There has to be something in which-” Yamada started to say but was interrupted as the person on the other end picked up with such an adorable sleepy ‘hello?’ that Hitoshi almost cooed.

“Hey, were you sleeping?” Hitoshi said.

“Hitoshi, who are you talking to?” Aizawa said, looking in the mirror.

“Hibernating to be exact, but yeah, I was sleeping. Even though our body temperatures run high all throughout the year, hibernating just helps us keep the higher body temperatures so our organs won’t shut down,” the voice said while sleeping.

Hitoshi let out a small smile as he imagined his boyfriend sleepily rubbing his eyes.

“I’m sorry to call,” Hitoshi said, “but we need your help.”

“We?” his boyfriend said.

“Hitoshi,” Yamada said. “Who are you talking to?”

“I already asked him that. Put it on speaker phone,” Aizawa said.

“My family. The librarian had called and basically demanded that I return those library books today. She didn’t care about the weather and -”

“Hitoshi, is your whole family with you?” his boyfriend said now fully awake.

“Yeah. Dad, Pops, and of course Eri,” Hitoshi said. “I’m sorry.”

“Why are you sorry?” his boyfriend said. “Mom, Dad, I’m going out to save my boyfriend and his family. Mom, you might want to listen to his story as that librarian ignored your email again.”

“I would tell you to put a jacket on, but you’ll just overheat in it,” he heard his boyfriend’s mom grumble.

“Brainwash,” he heard his boyfriend say and honestly, the name of his quirk shouldn’t sound so comforting and soothing, but it does when it comes from his boyfriend. “Are any of you hurt?”

“No, just freezing and the doors are almost frozen shut,” Hitoshi said, trying to stay out of reach of his Pops trying to grab his phone. “Do-Do you need to know our location?”

“I’ll find you. You have the Unicorn and Erasure with you, plus have the most tantalizing warmth scent that I’m following,” his boyfriend said.

Hitoshi felt red creep up his ears.

“You shouldn’t say things like that,” Hitoshi mumbled. “I’ll see you soon?”

“Most definitely,” his boyfriend said with a growl.

Hitoshi hung up his phone and shoved it into his pocket.

“Help is coming,” Hitoshi said.

“And what to tell us who this help is?” Aizawa said glaring through the mirror.

“My boyfriend,” Hitoshi said.

“You have a boyfriend?” Eri said, wiggling around in her seat.

“And who is this boyfriend?” Yamada said. “We haven’t met them. We don’t know anything about him.”

“You have met him and you do know some things about him, but don’t get mad at him, please,” Hitoshi said. “I’m the one who wanted to keep the relationship a secret because I’m not secure in my spot in his life.”

“Does he make you feel that way?” Yamada said. “Because you-”

“NO! At least, not intentionally. He’s more confident in my spot of our relationship than I am. He calls me by quirk’s name and it’s so soothing because it's filled with so much love and adoration for me. He calls me his mate, his sweet coffee bug,” Hitoshi said. “However, he imprinted on you Dad because he looks at you like a protector and gosh his blood heritage has him always protecting Eri.”

He looked down at his hands.

“I will almost always come first, but Eri might sometimes beat me out because of her being a unicorn,” Hitoshi said. “I just didn’t want to have to fight my family for my boyfriend’s attention.”

A knock sounded on the door’s windows just as Eri let out a squeal!

“I know that green anywhere!” Eri said. “It’s Mr. Deku!”

A hand brushed the snow and frost off Hitoshi’s window and Midoriya Izuku was standing outside the door. His green hair usually alive with bouncy curls was soaked and sticking to his head like he was in a shower, a black old band shirt that Hitoshi swore he had lost was soaking with water, purple shorts that Hitoshi knew Midoriya stole from him was wet too.

Hitoshi snorted as his boyfriend let out a yawn even though steam was going into the air from his body.

“Sorry, sorry,” Midoriya said, slightly muffled through the car door.

“What the heck is Problem Child doing and wearing?” Aizawa said.

“Can you open the car doors or do you need me too?” Midoriya said.

Hitoshi tried to open his door. He couldn’t get it to budge so he leaned over Eri to try and open hers.

“Dad, Pops,” Hitoshi said. “Try and open your doors.”

They both tried and neither could get their car door.

“Sorry in advance,” Midoriya said before yanking a car door open and almost taking it off the vehicle. “There we go. Sorry it took so long. Body is running sort of slow at the moment.”

Hitoshi scrambled out of the car and hugged Midoriya.

“Oh my good, you are on fire,” Hitoshi said. “It literally feels like I’m curled up in a fireplace.”

“Mhmm nice sleeping spot, would recommend sleeping in a fireplace, especially if there is fire in it,” Midoriya said. “Anyway, I need to get the others out.”

Hitoshi let out a frown and removed himself from Midoriya’s presence. Midoriya reached in and grabbed Eri who was excited to be held by her favorite hero.

“You are so warm, Mr. Deku,” Eri said. “It’s like I’m in a nice warm house.”

“And you are so cool to the touch,” Midoriya said rubbing his nose against hers playfully. “It’s like I’m standing in a refrigerator.” He almost got out of the car all the way before looking at his teachers. “Do you need me to open up the front doors?”

“I can climb out the back,” Yamada said. “Thanks Listener.”

“Same,” Aizawa said. “However, where is your coat?”

Midoriya blinked and moved out of the way of the car so the two teachers could get out.

“So, uh, Listener, why are you out here dressed like that?” Yamada said.

“Hitoshi called stating you all needed help,” Midoriya said. “Anyway, my home isn’t too far away. Just follow me.”

Midoriya just started walking away with Eri in his arms and Hitoshi pouting as he followed.

“Don’t worry,” Midoriya said. “I’m going to cuddle you when we get to my place.”

Yamada and Aizawa caught up quickly.

“You’re dating Midoriya, Hitoshi?” Yamada said.

“We will discuss that later, but Midoriya, where are your heavier clothes? Where is your jacket? Why did you come straight here after a shower? Hitoshi never gave you a location so how did you know where we were at? Does your Mom know you came out? If she did-”

“Why are you guys so concerned with my clothes?” Midoriya asked. “What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?”

“It’s a blizzard outside,” Hitoshi said. “It is also way below freezing temperatures. Any other person wearing what you are wearing would be covered in frostbit by now.”

“Oh. Yeah,” Midoriya said. “The cold bothers me in making me slow and sleepy, but it doesn't faze me? Like right now, I know that it's a blizzard and see that it’s a blizzard, but it feels like a rainstorm to me.”

“Is that why you are so wet?” Eri asked.

“Yeah. As soon as snow hits me, it melts,” Midoriya said.

“How high does your body temperature normally go?” Yamada said.

“Well, Dabi’s quirk and Endeavour's quirk don’t do anything to me. Mom literally had to put it on my medical file that the fever that usually puts adults in the hospital is my normal body temperature,” Midoriya said.

“So you mean to tell me that Todoroki’s fire attacks he keeps aiming at you doesn’t burn you at all?” Aizawa said.

“Nope. Then again, I found Dabi and asked him to just use his quirk on me so I could fall asleep in his fire. It was a good nap, I don’t know why he runs away from me now,” Midoriya said. “Oh, here's my building. Mom and Dad should know that you are coming with me.”

They followed Midoriya up to his floor and apartment as he opened the door and walked in.

“Mom, Dad, I’m home,” Midoriya said, sitting Eri down. “I brought over Hitoshi and his family. Go ahead and make yourself comfortable. I’m going to get into dry clothes and then go back to hibernating but only with Brainwash now.”

Midoriya went into his room and while the Aizawa-Yamada family started to get their winter gear off, Aizawa went forward into the house.

“Pardon the intrusion,” Aizawa said, going into the living room.

He saw Inko Midoriya being snuggled by a tall man with a dark green emerald tail wrapped around her and a dark green scaled head on her lap.

“It’s no problem,” Inko said. “I’m just glad all of you are okay. That librarian is going to get fired, I told her that all library books due for this week are extended due to the weather.”

“Izuku!” Aizawa heard his son say only to watch his son get dragged into the living room and Midoriya just dropped to the floor, curling himself around Hitoshi.

“Hibernating is always better with a dragon’s mate,” the man said, opening one blue-green eye. “Get used to being a pillow, Grape.”

“C-can I join?” Eri said.

“Aww, you don’t want to cuddle with us?” Yamada said.

“Peaches,” the man said.

“No, Dad,” Midoriya said, nuzzling his face into Hitoshi’s neck. “She’s Apple. And of course, Eri, you can join us.”

He held out his hand and Eri climbed into Hitoshi’s lap cuddling them.

The man sniffed the air before rolling over and burying his face into Inko’s waist.

“She’s Candy Apple,” the man said.

“Hisashi,” Inko said.

“Shush, I’m acting like my son did not just bring in Eraserhead and Present Mic as his mate’s parents,” Hisashi said. “Not when I’m not awake enough to fanboy over them or not fast enough to grab my autograph notebook to ask for their autographs.”

Inko chuckled.

“I would be a better hostess, but I did make some cups of hot chocolate for the four of you,” Inko said. “With how clingy my husband and son can get with winter, I have become somewhat of a master of making hot chocolate with my quirk.”

“Thank you,” Aizawa said.

“You are also most welcome to stay until this storm passes,” Inko said. “Between my husband being a fire dragon and Izuku a lightning dragon, there should be plenty of warmth to share by staying in the same room.”

“If you don’t mind, Mrs. Midoriya,” Yamada said as he forced Aizawa to sit on the floor so he could cuddle his husband. “We would like to ask some questions about your son and our son’s relationship.”

“I’m afraid, dragon dating is quite secretive,” Inko said. “You’ll have to ask Izuku and Hitoshi for those stories, but I can grab Izuku’s baby book and tell you about him.”

“Moooom,” Midoriya whined into his boyfriend’s neck.

Inko ignored her son and grabbed the baby book with her quirk, having it float in front of the two teachers. Yes, there would be some serious discussions to have later, but for now, stories of younger days and childish embarrassing stories were a good way to pass the time.
