Two Truths, One Lie

Summary:

It's Yoongi's turn and Seokjin keeps on shifting in his seat as he stares at him while he says his two truths and one lie:

"I can play the piano. I am still in love with Seokjin. I am taller than Namjoon now."

Notes:

tbh, i am thinking of whether this is in the right account or not but it's happy ending so we'll keep it here.

Work Text:

To be perfectly honest, Seokjin doesn't know what he should feel when he saw the message he got from one of his friends in high school. It has been a while- a decade to be exact- since the last time he has seen or heard from them. It's not like he wanted to lose touch but he kind of needed it after- well, after breaking up with Yoongi, who was in the same circle of friends.

It wasn't a bad break up. It was mutual, one can say. They were graduating high school and he was moving overseas with his parents. It was inevitable. They were supposed to break up... right? Except that he really didn't really want to and he just thought that Yoongi wouldn't want to be in a relationship with someone who is on the other side of the world.

That would be unfair to him, right?

He sighs as he rests his head on his desk. Should he go?

"What are you overthinking about again?"

Seokjin lifts his head up to look at Jaehwan. "Nothing."

"I've known you since we were in uni and now we have been working together for six years. Don't think you can get away with your nothing here." Jaehwan rolls his eyes at him before rolling over to Seokjin's station on the other side. "Now come on, tell me."

With a sigh, Seokjin shows him his phone. "My high school friends are inviting me for a reunion and I don't know if I should go or not." He rests his head on his desk again. "I knew I shouldn't have agreed to that lunch with Hoseok that one time."

"What's wrong with seeing your high school friends? I'm even envious you had such close friends back then. And you had been hiding from them for 6 years now." He pushes the phone back to Seokjin.

Pouting, Seokjin takes his phone back. "I was not hiding from them."

Jaehwan snorts at that. "You literally hid behind me when you first saw Hoseok that one time."

"Because I failed to keep in touch! I was embarassed, okay? I did not know if he hated me or something."

"The guy had the brightest smile on his face while excitedly waving at you- how could you even say that he might hate you?" Jaehwan gives him a pat on his head. "Just go to the reunion if you feel so bad about being a bad friend for the past 10 years."

"I was just busy with uni and all and then there was work after..." he lies but Jaehwan just looks at him with judging eyes. "Fine! I was actively avoiding them."

Sighing, Jaehwan rolls his chair towards him closer. "And why were you avoiding them? Basing on Hoseok alone, I can tell they are good friends."

"You remember that one ex I told you about?" Seokjin asks as he sits upright.

"The one with you in the photo in your wallet?"

Seokjin nods. "Well, he is going to be there."

"Oh."

He sighs as he rests his head on his desk again. "Yeah- oh."

"Isn't that good though? You'll see him again! Maybe you can fix things and get back together or something?" Jaehwan holds him by the shoulder and shakes him. "And then you can finally stop complaining about not having a boyfriend but rejecting every guy who tries to hit on you."

"You really think it's that easy to win someone back? What if he doesn't like me anymore?" He cringes at what he just said. "Yikes- hearing myself talk about this sounds so juvenile. I'm in my late 20s and I am talking about liking someone and then fearing that they don't like me back as if I'm a highschool student."

Jaehwan laughs at him. "Well, if he doesn't, then at least you can start moving on. I think the reason why you are still hung up on him is because you're still thinking of what ifs. Unless he rejects you, you'll keep having this tiny piece of hope inside of you, clinging to the possibility that you guys would've worked it out if you didn't break up."

"Fine." Seokjin sighs. "I'll think about it."

"Too late-" He tosses something back to Seokjin. It was Seokjin's phone. "I already replied to Hoseok's email to let him know that you will be there." He smiles before sliding back to his desk.

And that is how Seokjin found himself standing in front of a cafè, feeling iffy about the way his collar feels around his neck but he knows it's just him being hyperaware of everything because he is nervous.

Aside from the fact that he is now going to see Yoongi after a decade, he is also finally meeting his friends that he has been actively avoiding because he feels like he was burdening them with the dilemma of who to console since both he and Yoongi are in the friend group. It was a mutual break up but even if it wasn't talked about, he feels as if their friends had to make the choice of choosing just one of them and of course, the logical choice is Yoongi because he gets to stay here while he had to go abroad for his studies.

It started out with not replying as much. Days soon turned into weeks with him saying that his classes were hectic and such. And then from normal days to missing out the big events like birthdays and holidays to eventually not responding and soon not even receiving messages from them.

More than the dread of seeing an ex he really didn't want to break up with, he was afraid of the built up resentment of being a bad friend to them. There was, of course, the gnawing thought inside his head that if his friends does that, he would be deserving of the treatment.

Maybe he can still walk away? Maybe he can just text Hoseok he suddenly got something to do with work and then-

"OMG hyung- you really came!"

He almost falls down when someone came crashing into him with a hug.

"I really thought you wouldn't." Hoseok finally lets him go but he still has a bright smile on his face. "Wait- you are not planning to ditch us last minute, right?"

His ears turning red answered the question for him. Hoseok's smile turns into tight-lipped one as he takes his hand.

"Hyung, I told you. No one feels like that. We missed you. That's all." He smiles as he places Seokjin's hand into his arm to lead him inside. "Sure- we wished we didn't lose contact but we kind of understand how hard things are for you and hyung after you guys broke up and you had to be away. But I promise you-" He stops for a moment to look at him when they got to the door. "We just missed you and we just want our friend back." He smiles as he pushes the door open.

The first thing he sees is Namjoon wearing glasses since the other three has their backs turned towards the door. Namjoon immediately gets up and gives him a dimpled smile. It looks familiar and yet so different from the last time he saw him. "Hi, hyung." he says in a much deeper voice.

This makes the others tense. Jimin and Taehyung then looks at him as Hoseok pushes him a little to make him go closer. He was somehow encouraged to give them a smile but it eventually drops off his face when Taehyung just looks away and Jimin just sighs as he forces a smile before getting up to greet Seokjin.

"Hi, hyung. Long time no see." He says as he extends a hand to Seokjin but the first thing his hyung sees is that his smile doesn't even reach his eyes.

He takes his hand even when it screams unfamiliarity to him. He and Jimin used to hangout a lot back then but now all he gets is a handshake. Namjoon gives him a half hug as he says a quick welcome to him.

He gives them a forced smile but he really can't quite find any words since his attention was on the two still sitting at their table.

Jungkook has grown a lot from the last time they have met. He got some muscles now and a beautiful tattoo sleeve on his arm. And Taehyung? His kind of adopted brother from back then turned into this charismatic man with stunning visuals.

"Aren't you guys going to greet hyung?" Namjoon asks the two. Jungkook doesn't answer while Taehyung looks at him for a second before saying, "No."

Hoseok was quick to hold Seokjin's hand- which he was grateful for. He gives him a quick nod, encouraging him to reach out.

Because that was just right for him to do. He was the one who stopped responding first. He should be the one to initiate contact.

He starts with Jungkook as he feels intimidated with the way Taehyung glares at him.

"That's beautiful art you got going there." He says as he goes beside him.

He waits for him to say something but what he didn't expect was Jungkook to suddenly pout and then start crying.

"I uhm-" he looks at the others but they just gave him a nod, encouraging him to go on. And so he does. He reaches out to Jungkook's nape to make him to turn to him so he can cry on Seokjin's shoulder as he gives him a nod. "I'm sorry." he starts, making Jungkook cry harder.

"I saw you outside but I didn't know if I was allowed to say hi." he says in between his sobs, making Seokjin's chest tighter. "I didn't know if I was still your friend because you don't answer my calls and you don't reply to my messages."

"Hyung is sorry." Seokjin says as he brushes Jungkook's hair with his left hand as he hugs him tighter with the right one. "I just... I just didn't know how to reach out again."

They finally let go after Jungkook's breaths even out.

"Are you mad at Jungkookie?" he asks, making Seokjin smile a little before shaking his head.

"No. I am more mad at myself because I couldn't bring myself to message you guys after not responding for so long." He stands up straight before meeting Taehyung's eyes. "You guys should be the one mad at me for ghosting you."

"And we are." Taehyung answers. "You only broke up with Yoongi-hyung but you avoided the whole group because of the break up."

"Taehyung-" Jimin warns but the other was quick to shush him.

"Jimin, you were hurt the most when hyung stopped responding so I do not know how you can still smile at him." Taehyung tells him before looking back at Seokjin. "What you did was unfair to us since you just decided on our behalf that we don't want you as a friend anymore since you moved away. You took away our choice when the option you decided on wasn't even one to begin with."

Seokjin wants to look down but he knows what Taehyung was saying is right.

"I know. And I'm sorry." He gives Jungkook a look before the youngest one nods and lets Seokjin's hand go so he can walk towards Taehyung. "I am a shitty friend for cutting you off when you didn't do anything wrong to me. That's why I feel so ashamed standing before you guys right now- because I doubted our friendship." He offers his hand to Taehyung. "Can I be your friend again?"

But Taehyung swats his hand away. He was about to move back when Taehyung suddenly pulls his hand as he gives him a hug. "We can do better than a handshake, hyung. I am still hurt but I am just glad you're here again."

Seokjin can feel tears welling up but he just hugs Taehyung tighter. In the corner of his eye, he then sees Jimin sobbing quietly on Namjoon's chest so he nudges on Taehyung before they pull him into a hug.

"Hyung is very sorry, Jiminie." He says as he gives him a kiss on the temple. Jimin has always been someone who adjusts to them and he cries silently so he can be very protective of him.

"Why does he get a kiss and I don't?" Jungkook whines before joining the three in their hug, making the others laugh.

"I told you, hyung. No one is mad." Hoseok hugs them. "Hurt and disappointed in losing a friend, yes. It can sound like anger but it's not. It's just a mask to protect ourselves."

Namjoon joins in on the hug as well. "But we are really just glad you're home now."

"You're not yet totally forgiven though. You need to give me a decade's worth of banana milk to make up for stuff." Jungkook mumbles, making them laugh but Seokjin just nods.

"We have a lot to catch up on too." He smiles as he hugs them tighter.

"Does that include us?"

Everyone stills at the new voice, making them all turn towards the door where Yoongi is standing.

"Oh uhm-" Seokjin suddenly doesn't know where to look. The group then lets each other go and just stands there awkwardly, waiting for one of them to speak.

"Why don't we all sit down and order first?" Hoseok ushers them all to their seats. Seokjin sits in the corner, beside Namjoon and infront of Jungkook. Hoseok sits beside Namjoon while Taehyung is in between Jimin and Jungkook. Yoongi sits on the other end of the table, two people away from Seokjin and yet his eyes hasn't moved from him ever since.

He shifts uncomfortably in his seat but he knows he really can't hide from Yoongi.

"So how are you, hyung?" Namjoon asks as he takes one of the garlic bread sticks. "It's been a decade since the last time we saw you. You're working for a big company now?"

"I'm a producer now." He smiles as he offers the garlic bread on his side to Namjoon.

"You don't eat garlic bread now, hyung?" Jungkook asks.

He shakes his head with a smile. "Oh- I found out that I am actually allergic to garlic."

"Oh- well, that's a shame." Jungkook says as he takes a piece and offers the rest to the others. "But a producer? That's amazing. You write songs?"

"Oh no- not that kind of producer." He denies with a small smile. "TV shows. I come up with themes and segments. They have been bugging me to start with my acting career just because I have the visuals but my ideas for shows are just doing so well so I'd prefer to focus my attention on that."

"I thought you're like producer-producer like Yoongi-hyung. He's also a producer now!" Taehyung smiles widely.

Seokjin's eyes shift to Yoongi's but he immediately looks away when he sees that the younger is still looking at him. "I uhm... that's great to hear. You're pursuing your passion. I thought you would be an engineer since that's what you were going to take back then."

Yoongi just nods as he takes his drink for a sip.

"It took a while to convince his parents. He even had to move out just so they can't do anything with his decision." Hoseok says as he looks at Yoongi. "He really came a long way so we're proud of him."

"We really are." Jimin seconds.

"Well, I am too." Seokjin says, making Yoongi look at him. "I'm proud you're doing what you really want to do."

Yoongi just answers with a smile.

With that, Seokjin clears his throat and tries to shift his attention to his other friends. "How about you guys? How are you doing?"

"Oh me? I'm a trainee idol now." Jimin says with a wide smile.

"You're what? That's amazing-"

Jimin then bursts laughing. "You believed that? Hyung, I was just joking!"

"Well, I thought you got scouted or something." Seokjin whines, making the others laugh.

"With how long we haven't seen each other, it would be very easy to lie to you, hyung." Namjoon says while shaking his head with a fond smile.

"Why don't we play a game then? Two truths, one lie? Let Seokjin-hyung choose which one is the lie?" Taehyung suggests, gaining a couple of approvals from the group.

"It's the perfect game- we haven't seen each other for the last decade so certainly, a lot of things have changed and there's things we don't know about each other now!" Hoseok exclaims while excitedly clapping his hands. "Okay. I'll start." he clears his throat. "I own a dance school now. I am now a brand ambassador. I have a crush on Jungkook."

"What-" Jungkook blinks as he looks at Hoseok.

But Hoseok just smiles and makes Jungkook shush. "Shh- hyung is making a decision."

"I was actually leaning towards the brand thing but Jungkook had such a surprised reaction so... maybe it's the crush thingy?" Seokjin laughs a little.

"Ddaeng!" Hoseok smiles as he even makes an X with his hands. "It's the dance school thingy! I only teach- Jimin actually owns the school."

"Ah- hyung! I was actually going to make that one of my truths." Jimin pouts. "Now I have to change it."

"So you're a dance teacher now. That's amazing. And a brand ambassador???" Seokjin looks at him in awe. "No doubt on the visuals but I just can't imagine you sticking to just one style."

"My sister and I have started a fashion line. She technically owns it since I don't like managing businesses but she signed me as a brand ambassador instead." Hoseok explains.

"Are we just going to ignore what hyung just said?" Jungkook asks in a loud voice. "You have a crush on me?"

Namjoon laughs at that. "I am more amazed that you never noticed." Jungkook was just about to say something but Namjoon continues. "My turn. I am now a philosophy professor. I travel the world just to visit museums. I am now a consultant for The Pokémon Company."

"I am thinking you guys are unknowingly starting a pattern here so I will say the second one because that sounds a bit too much for me?"

However, the younger just smiles. "I schedule it every 2 months."

"Wait- so it's the professor thing?"

Namjoon shakes his head. "No- I love Pokémon but I don't think I will apply as a consultant for them." he laughs. "I have been a professor in SNU for two years now."

"That is amazing! I am so proud of you guys!" Seokjin pats Namjoon's back. "You guys are doing so well!"

"Hoseok-hyung has a crush on me!" Jungkook says, still out of it, making the others laugh.

"Yes, dear. Hoseok-hyung has a crush on you." Seokjin pats his head.

"It's your turn, hyung!" Taehyung leans closer, interested with what the other has to say.

"Oh- I have to give two truths and one lie too? Okay. Hmmm." Seokjin pauses to think. His eyes however land on Yoongi and he contemplates on how he can gauge if the other is still interested in him. "I have a couple of songs on Soundcloud. I received an offer to guest in Chef Baek's cooking show." He keeps his eyes on Yoongi as he prepares himself for what he's about to say. "I have been dating someone for a year now."

Everyone goes silent as their eyes went to Yoongi but he only has a blank face as he stares at Seokjin.

"Well, what do you guys think?"

No one says it but they are all just wishing that the third one is not one of the truths but it's not looking good since the other two seems highly unlikely.

"It's the guy you were with when I saw you that day, isn't it?" Hoseok asks in an uncertain voice.

"I'm not going to give you any hints."

"The third one is the lie." Yoongi suddenly says, his gaze piercing through Seokjin. "Abyss and Tonight are melancholically beautiful, by the way. And I've seen your pictures with Chef Baek through a friend and with how you cook, it's not surprising he gave you an offer."

"Hyung, is this you wishing the third one is the lie?" Jimin whispers to him but Yoongi just smiles as he leans closer towards Seokjin's direction. "Well?"

Everyone turns their attention to Seokjin.

"You know Abyss and Tonight?" was all Seokjin could say.

"I'm a producer. I regularly check Soundcloud for new artists and songs for inspiration." Yoongi says before leaning back, shifting his attention on his drink.

"Oh right."

"Wait- that means that you're not dating anyone... right?" Taehyung asks.

Seokjin can only shake his head with a smile. "That was Jaehwan. A good friend of mine. We did try going out after we graduated but... it didn't work out."

His friends' eyes shift between him and Yoongi and it was getting more awkward by the second so Seokjin claps his hands once to get their attention.

"Well, Jungkook- your turn?" he says, hoping to get things back on track.

"Hoseok-hyung has a crush on me." was all he could say as he idly stares at his now watered-down iced tea.

"I'm guessing he can't let that go until who knows when so I'll go." Taehyung clears his throat. "I am a professional gamer now. I was a photographer for Vogue but I recently got casted as a model. The last one is two things. But who knows if both of them are true." he shrugs his shoulders.

"Ooooh- That's a bit hard. I know you are good enough to be a pro-gamer but the others are also possible." Seokjin takes a moment to think about it. "The photographer thing? I'd like to think you really started as a model for a brand immediately."

Taehyung laughs. "Actually, Jungkook is the pro-gamer. I just stream from time to time." he explains.

"That's cool. My friends finally getting the acknowledgment they deserve." Seokjin smiles.

"My turn?" Jimin says as he fixes how he was sitting. "Okay- Well, I am in a loving relationship right now." He says but Seokjin suddenly felt his heart drop to his stomach when he sees Jimin look at Yoongi. "I am proposing to Yoongi-hyung tonight. And- oh! I am taller than Yoongi-hyung now too!"

Everyone looks at Seokjin expectantly.

"I uhm..." He unconsciously bites on his lower lip. "It can't be- right? Not with how Yoongi has been looking at him the whole afternoon. He can't be with Jimin... right? "The proposal." he answers when he finally finds his voice.

Jimin smiles. "Ah- you finally got one right!" he says, making Seokjin breathe a little easier. "I am not proposing tonight."

"Just not tonight?" Seokjin asks unconsciously, his voice laced with disappointment.

This makes Jimin start laughing. "Oh god- please tell me you didn't believe that we are dating!"

"Jimin and I have been dating for 4 years now." Taehyung smiles as he holds on to Jimin's chair.

"He still falls off chairs when laughing?" Seokjin manages to laugh, voice still sounding a bit shaky.

"Yeah." Taehyung nods as he holds Jimin in place now. They wait for Jimin to stop laughing, which actually takes longer than expected. "Should we do Jungkook now or Yoongi-hyung?"

"Hoseok-hyung has a crush on me..." was all Jungkook can mumble.

"Yoongi-hyung it is!" Taehyung announces.

Everyone looks at the second eldest sitting at the end of the table.

It's finally Yoongi's turn and Seokjin keeps on shifting in his seat as he stares at him while he says his two truths and one lie:

"I can play the piano. I am still in love with Seokjin. I am taller than Namjoon now."

They all stop breathing as they shift their eyes between Seokjin and Yoongi again.

"Oh come on, hyung! That's so easy! Even Seokjin-hyung that we haven't seen for 10 years can immediately tell that the third one is the lie!" Jungkook whines, finally out of his daze. "You are definitely not taller—"

Taehyung holds Jungkook's hand. "Bun, I think that's not the point of Yoongi-hyung's truths and lie."

"Then what is-" it dawns on Jungkook. "Oh."

Yoongi is still in love with Seokjin.

It was Yoongi's deep laughter that disrupts the silence. "Sorry Kookie. I guess I didn't know how to play the game." He gets up from his seat. "I guess I lost so I'll pay today."

He then walks to the counter wordlessly to settle the bill which was an implication that today was over.

Seokjin wishes it isn't yet because now that he knows that Yoongi feels the same, he needs more time to know if he wants to get back together. But Namjoon said that he still has some term papers to grade while Hoseok finally asked Jungkook out. Jimin and Taehyung seemed to have other plans for tonight as well.

"You're going to stay, hyung?" Hoseok asks as he rolls down his window when he saw Seokjin still standing by the door of the cafè.

"Ah- I asked Jaehwan if he could pick me up. We live in the same apartment complex." Seokjin explains.

"Oh. Okay. Well, I'll add you to the GC later, hyung. It was really good seeing you today." The younger smiles.

Seokjin smiles at him and then looks at Jungkook who was still in a daze in the passenger seat. "It's also good to see you guys again. Take care, you two."

"We will!" Hoseok flashes him a wide smile before driving away.

Jimin, Taehyung, and Namjoon soon pass by him as well but Jaehwan still hasn't responded to his text. Maybe he can just ride a cab home—

A car stops in front of him. The window rolls down and Seokjin can immediately feel his heart racing again. "Do you need a ride?"

"I uhm... I live uptown. It might be—"

Yoongi suddenly takes off his seatbelt and gets off the car then opens the passenger seat door. "It's in my way then."

Seokjin can't say or do anything but just get in the car. He was just about to reach for the seatbelt when Yoongi suddenly takes it and puts it on him. He doesn't say anything even after closing the door and then getting in the car as well on the other side.

"Do you mind typing in your address here?" Yoongi says as he hands Seokjin his phone while driving out of the parking lot of the cafè.

He nods as he receives the phone. Seokjin can feel his ears turning red when he sees a familiar picture he hasn't seen for years- the picture of their shoulders while standing next to each other. It's very grainy and one can tell that the picture was taken by an older phone. "Uhm... what's the password?" he manages to ask.

Seokjin doesn't see the way Yoongi smiles at his reaction for the photo. "294021."

He types it in, wondering if the numbers meant something but can't really think of anything that they would stand for so he just returns the phone to Yoongi when the app showed the fastest route to his address. He somehow wishes he lives somewhere farther so they can be together for a little longer.

Now they have had a lot of moments they just sit beside each other in silence before but somehow, Seokjin feels the need to fill it with something- but it could just be because he was worried Yoongi can hear how loud his heart was beating at that time.

"So how are you?" he manages to ask.

"Still you."

He blinks in confusion. Did he hear him correctly? "What...?"

"Doing good." Yoongi smiles, looking at him for a second. "How about you?"

"Still a bit anxious about meeting you guys again even if today went well. I still have a lot of things to make up for." Seokjin answers with a slight laugh.

The lights turn green so the car starts moving again. "It's not really easy to reconnect and I'm sure the others understand that as well."

"I actually wanted to contact you guys when I got back but I thought there was nothing to fix anymore since it has been so long." He replies, immediately seeing the way Yoongi's hold on the steering wheel tightens.

However, Yoongi just nods and somehow that was how the conversation ended. Seokjin sat quietly in the passenger seat even when there was a lot he wanted to say. But the car soon stops in front of their building and he knows that time has ran out for him.

"I uhm..." He looks down at his fingers fiddling with the seatbelt. "Thank you for taking me home."

"I lied."

That makes Seokjin look at him. "What?"

"This is not on my way. I live on the other side of the town." Yoongi says as he removes his seatbelt.

Seokjin doesn't know how to respond to that at first but he soon comes up with something. "Then why—"

"Because." He leans his head back on his seat, eyes closed, hands gripping on the steering wheel again. "Because I wanted to spend time with you. I wanted to talk to you again. I spent ten years without you so I wanted to make this last as long as I can." He looks at Seokjin. "Do you really think there is nothing to fix anymore?"

His grip on the seatbelt loosens. "I... I don't know. I figured that you had moved on when I went away."

"I didn't." Yoongi answers quickly. "It's still you. It has always been you. It will always be you, Seokjin."

"You meant what you said in the cafè?"

"I waited for a decade for you because there is no one else I want."

Seokjin gets the courage to face him. "But we broke up. I broke up with you ten years ago."

"Us breaking up doesn't mean that I stopped loving you." Yoongi reaches for his hand. "I meant it when I said I am still in love with you."

Yoongi's hand is still cold just like how he remembers it. It's still rough to touch but he feels at peace as he intertwines their fingers together.

"Do you feel the same, hyung?"

Seokjin nods, still unable to answer verbally as he feels the tears welling in his eyes. It rolled down his cheeks when Yoongi squeezes his hand.

"I didn't really want to break up, you know." Seokjin admits as he wipes his tears.

"Neither did I."

"Then why did you let us break up?" Seokjin whines, laughing a little at how ridiculous they look right now. A couple of adults crying like a high school couple who just had a petty fight about something.

"Because I know that even if we broke up, you can find your way back to me because I never moved." Yoongi reaches for Seokjin's face to wipe his tears with his other hand. "Because I was sure that it will be us in the end somehow."

"Somehow?" Seokjin lets out a small laugh.

"Yes- somehow." Yoongi answers as he gives Seokjin's hand another squeeze. "Because I will find a way for it to happen."

Seokjin pinches his cheeks, making Yoongi laugh silently as he sits back on his seat properly.

"So what now? We try again?" Seokjin asks as he leans back on his seat.

"No." Yoongi responds, making Seokjin look.

"No?"

Yoongi takes a deep breath as he takes something out of his pocket. "I uhm... I kind of need my other hand." He says shyly. Seokjin lets his hand go and waits for Yoongi to say something but he spots a velvet box in his other hand, a little worn out. "I already let you go once. Don't ever think I will let that happen again." He says as he opens the box, revealing a ring inside.

"You... you want to..." Seokjin's tears have started falling again.

"Kim Seokjin, I don't want to let you again. Will you spend the rest of your life with me?"

"Oh my god, say yes please!"

They turn to the side where Jaehwan was holding his phone, presumably filming the whole thing. They laugh a little before looking back at each other.

"I know it's quite a surprise and I don't expect you to say yes because it's been ten years but I can wait if you are not ready yet—"

"Yes."

Yoongi stops for a while. "You said yes. You said yes?"

"Yes." Seokjin laughs as he nods, reaching for Yoongi, giving him a kiss that was long overdue. "Yes, I will spend the rest of my life with you."

"I can't hear you guys but I think you said yes! Oh my god congrats Jinnie and wallet guy!" Jaehwan cheers outside, making Seokjin laugh.

"Wallet guy?" Yoongi asks in a whisper.

"I'll explain later. But for now-" He gives him his hand.

Yoongi can't help but smile widely as he gets the ring from the box and puts it on Seokjin's finger before pulling him into another kiss.

"Thank you for waiting for me." Seokjin says against his lips as they pull away.

He gives him another peck before replying, "Worth the wait."
