When the Ghost Hunters become the Ghost Hunted.

Summary:

The team of four ghost hunters: Scott, Jack, Shelby and Wilbur have some weird things happen to them...

Yeah no, that's it. They get semi turned into their origins. They're still humans, or are they? Have to find out ;)

Notes:

It all was inspired by this tweet: https://twitter.com/MyraTheFarmer/status/1516069097154355203

And so, at this very late time, I found this in my bookmarks. And I've decided, that fuck my sleep schedule, and fuck my winter break ending today, I'm gonna write something. And I haven't wrote anything proper for a few months now. And this language is not even my first and I'm still learning it, and I will probably continue to learn it for quite some time. idk what I will write tonight, but I hope it's gonna be good. And don't mind the gramatical errors too much. I'm kind of dyslexic additionally, but I try.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Introduction and Scott.

Chapter Text

There've been four ghost hunters. Quite a lot of people, who believed in ghosts of course, knew about them. And these four were a team. Scott, Jack, Shelby and Wilbur. There were no particular leader, but they didn't need one.

And so they were doing their usual ghost hunting. It was going all wrong, as it always does. They were never particularly good at this whole thing, but they were still best in that business, somehow still surviving and doing they're job a bit. It was not the easiest job, after all.

And one day, one of the members started feeling something weird. Or should I say.. seeing?

Scott was the first to start experience weird things. One night, before going to bed, he watched the night sky. He would do that every night, right before sleep. He always loved looking at them. But that one night, the stars were brighter, than the usual. It would've been fine, but it also felt almost like the stars started.. speaking to him? Huh?

"That's ridiculous," said Jack. "You've made that up."

"I wish I did," said Scott back, not even fully believing himself.

"I think you've just overworked, Scott," added Wilbur.

"Maybe I did... But it felt real. But I just don't get how I would hallucinate that one."

"Maybe you've eaten something not good?" suggested Shelby.

"What can I possibly eat to get hallucinations like that?" answeared Scott, being baffled at his friend's suggestion.

"I mean, you sure you haven't eaten any mushrooms?" asked Jack.

"No! I've already said, I haven't eaten anything, that would give you hallucinations."

"Then yeah, you've just overworked and started imagining things," said Shelby.

"I guess so..." and agreeing on that theory, the day continued for them. Until few days later (and some stars speaking to Scott later), the stars started appearing on Scott's body. Now that one was weird and pretty real.

If before it could be very weird and repeating hallucinations, but seeing a little star on your body? Nah, you can't just make that up. It's definitely not a hallucination, if you wake up, look in the mirror and then spot something on your very upper chest part, and it's a little shining star. And when you shower, trying to get it wash away, and it's still there and still shining, then that's something unexplainable.

"Okay, right, what is this." asks himself Scott, while still looking in the mirror. "Am I even awake right now? Am I still sleeping? How is this real? Why is this real? What? And I can't get it off." and after some thinking, he proceeded "I guess I will just have to live with this now. Oh well, it's not like anybody will believe me anyways. I hope it won't get any worse. I mean, it can't get any worse, right? Right? It probably will."

And with that, Scott continued his day, not saying a word about it, but still actively thinking about it. What an odd thing, huh.

On the next day, however, things got worse. There were now, a few more stars, shining on Scott's body. It's still not a lot, but knowing that they will spread even more tommorow kind of terrifying.

"Although, they're kind of pretty. Oh! I wonder how they would look on my face. I always wanted freckles. I don't even know if I want to get rid of them now. They're cute! Okay, I've decided I'm not gonna tell anyone until I can't hide it anymore or until it becomes too late."

With two weeks passed, Scott finally decided, that he can't keep hiding his stars under clothes for much longer. By this time, on parts where stars were, his skin got a little bit more purple-ish, making him look a little bit like the night sky? Maybe the galaxy in general? Either way, it looked cute in Scott's opinion.

"Umm, guys, I have something to tell you" got everyone's attention Scott.

"I swear, if it's about those talking stars again, Scott, then I'm leaving," said Wilbur.

"No, it's not about talking stars. Well... Okay, I will just show it" replied Scott, pulling his sleeves up, showing his arms, full of little shiny stars.

"What the fuck." said Wilbur and oh boy, everybody, except Scott, had the same thought.

"Yeah, this been happening for a while now. They've started appearing a few days later after stars started speaking to me. And YOU thought I had hallucinations."

"Scott, I think it was fair to think you had some one time hallucinations. I mean, I believe you now," said Shubble.

"Wait, so this was going on this whole time and you only saying it now?" questioned Jack.

"Yeah. I mean, if I told you guys, you would still call me crazy."

"Yeah, I absolutely would. And I still would call you crazy for keeping this one a secret," said Wilbur. "But if you would've told us, maybe we would be able to stop it. I mean, maybe we still can stop it from spreading."

"But I don't want you to stop it from spreading."

"What?" said the other three in unison.

"That's the whole reason I kept it a secret. And I would continue to keep it a secret, but I don't think it would've been possible any longer."

"Well, I'm glad you've decided to tell us about it at least now," replied Shubble, being glad, that Scott trusts them at the end of the day.

"Yeah, I guess. But it's still so shocking to me, that you have literal stars on your body and you're deciding to keep them," said Jack.

"Yeah, could've trusted us a bit more, Scott," said Wilbur and it came back to the usual banter between the team, between the friends.

And as days were going, Scott's body started to look more and more like a galaxy. His face is the only thing that remained somewhat untouched by stars, having only a few little ones, that dimly shone there, reminding its owner of freckles.

It's all was very unusual and happened quite quickly. With those stars came consequences of course. Scott now had to hide them under clothes or else he had to deal with so many stares at him, that he honestly couldn't blame. He would also stare at someone, if they had their visible parts of the body, other than face, being covered by stars and having a galaxy like colors behind those stars, making it all look galaxy like.

Although at first the stares were nice, but they got even more annoying, when some people were coming up to him to ask about it. More specifically, why he, as a man, would wear make up, especially like this. So yeah, just a bunch of more homophobic people basically.

A bit annoying, but it was alright in general. And the stars kept speaking to him sometimes. The little talks with stars were quite short and peaceful. Nothing much about them. But nice all the same.

P.S: When imagining Scott's skin, it's kind of like these two pictures of galaxy (the colors are pretty):
