What Being A Teacher Is All About

Summary:

Iruma is hired as a teacher by his grandfather, to create an opportunity for Iruma to gain teaching experience and other learning points, that his current position in the school would not bring him. To be frank, this was actually part of Sullivan's preparation for him to become the next Demon King.

“The Demon King is the netherworld itself.” Sullivan had once told Iruma. That was when Iruma came to the realisation that the Demon King was everything. Well... A teacher was another thing. Prioritising the students' safety above anything, even going as far as to sacrifice yourself, was one of the duties of being a teacher. An Evidol was another thing. Lastly, grading papers, don't get me started on that one..

Iruma-sensei is also faced with challenges as an Evidol! As much as he finds it embarrassing, refusing his students' requests seem almost impossible.

“Please, Iruma-sensei. This is really important! I need to win this! Please!" Kerori, the Evidol, Kuromu, begged.

“… Alright, alright.” Iruma gave in. In the end, not even Iruma-sensei could resist the very word, “please".

Chapter 1: The First Step to Becoming a Teacher

Summary:

The morning before Iruma prepared to go to the Teachers’ Lounge went like this.

“EHHHHHHHHH?” Iruma gasped in shock, mouth agape after hearing the plan about him becoming a temporary teacher to gain experience, from his grandfather.

“We wish you good luck, Iruma-sama. We will continue to support you at school.” Opera said, with sparkles twinkling in their eyes and a small smile on their smile.

“R-Right, thank you Opera-san and Oiji-chan…” Iruma replied, pretending to cry inside.

Chapter Text

After two consecutive knocks on the door, Iruma gulped nervously and fidgeted with his hands.

"Would I be good enough to teach my classmates?" Iruma thought to himself. Iruma shook his head profusely after and told himself, “No.. Even if I’m not good enough, I’ll still try..”.

The door slowly opened, featuring Dali. "Ah, Iruma-kun, do you need something?" Dali asked, but paused for a moment as he spotted Iruma's unusual outfit. That was, none other than the teachers' uniform.

"Ah... Yes. Do tell me if I get anything wrong. I will be in your care, everyone!" Iruma stated as he bowed politely.

"Ah.. I see, Iruma-kun, so you're the new teacher! Come on in! You also don't have to be very formal with us, Iruma-kun…" Dali chuckled softly.

Iruma blushed and nodded his head in agreement. Upon hearing what Dali said, the other teachers gasped in shock, there were practically sparkles twinkling in Robin's eyes as he held Iruma's hands.

“Iruma-sensei! Woahh!” Robin gaped at the sight, Iruma looked so stunning in their uniform, it even looked like he was a teacher all along.

“Ah- Robin-sensei…” Iruma muttered under his breath shyly while not facing Robin’s beautiful green eyes.

Robin could very pretty if you looked closer. To be very honest, Iruma had a crush on two of the teachers for a very long time.

Be it their personalities, or just something that made Iruma like them even more, they were just themselves. That's why Iruma liked them, specifically.

"Ah, right. Iruma-kun, you have to do the paperwork for which subjects you want to teach. Kalego-sensei will judge it!" Robin said, handing Iruma the paperwork and briefly Iruma on how to answer before walking to his desk to finish his own paperwork.

"Well then, I'll be off to finish my own paperwork. See you later, Iruma-kun!" Robin said, walking away as he smiled.

After a few mintues, Iruma was smiling happily while doing paperwork. Upon seeing Iruma's expression, Dali was at ease and approached Iruma.

"So, Iruma-kun, how's the first day doing paperwork?" Dali asked in a very relaxed manner.

"It's pretty nice? I suppose. Who knew doing paperwork were way simpler than my parents abandoning me." Iruma wheezed, breaking into uncontrollable chuckles.

Dali-sensei, on the other hand, stood there in a daze, shocked and confused. "... What?" Dali said, lips curling into a concerned frown. Worry was written all over his face.

"Er, sorry, that just came out, Dali-sensei." Iruma added, regretting the fact that he said that, nearly slapping himself on the head.

"EHHH! Iruma-sensei needs a hug!" Robin started as he jumped onto Iruma, more specifically on his chair but embraced him in a hug.

"Er, Robin-sensei? What are you doing?" Iruma shouted, feeling puzzled.

"Your right, Robin-sensei..." Momonoki said, wiping away her tears as she joined the hug.

"Yie, kuan kuan! Iruma-kun will bloom like a flower." Suzy suggested as she touched his nose, admiring him like a flower.

"... What are you... all... doing..?" Kalego asked, walking in only to see that Dali, Suzy, Momonoki, Robin and Marbas happily hugging Iruma.

Iruma’s teachers didn't say anything so Iruma didn't as well. They just stared at Kalego and nervously smiled, hoping to ease the situation. All except Robin who escaped the hug and pulled Kalego in to join the hug.

"Heyy! Kalego-sensei, come join us!" Robin suggested in a cheerful tone.

"Hey, Robin-sensei, we probably shouldn't-" Iruma cut in, trying to prevent Robin from getting into even more trouble.

"... No. It's perfectly fine, Iruma..." Kalego replied, shaking his head.

Even Dali and the other teachers, including Iruma, could be fooled, but not Robin.

"Wait! I'm sorry, Kalego-sensei! Spare me!" Robin apologised profusely as he tried to escape Kalego's wrath. But, it was too late. Robin's screams filled the room as Kalego dragged him over to his desk and assigned him ten times the amount of paperwork that was normally given to teachers.

A smile formed on Iruma's face as he watched the two from afar, chuckling and laughing at how both of them had a "conversation".

"So, is it fun being a teacher, Iruma-kun?" Dali asked as he continued to laugh uncontrollably.

"Very, Dali-sensei." Iruma replied, flashing a radiant smile.
