Work Text:
"Forgive me," Avon says, the first time, as pure shock sends him stumbling across the Liberator, eyes darting from Jenna…to Cally…to him.
"Forgive me," Avon repeats the next few times, when it still feels like a cruel puzzle.
A dozen times; a hundred. They die on planets new and familiar, but never by Avon's hand. Cally is never alone; Vila never looks at him in fear.
He's greedy for all of it. A thousand times wouldn't be enough. When Orac eventually solves it, Avon only hesitates for a second.
"Forgive me," Avon whispers, and deletes the file, unread.
