Work Text:

Katsuki was pacing again, and it was messing with Eijirou's “Me” time. How one person's pacing could interrupt a heated Mario cart session would usually be a mystery, unless you knew Katsuki, who even on the best days stomped around like he was trying to raise the devil himself.

When the stopping ended in Katsuki's room again, Ejiro decided it was quiet enough to return to his game. And as he almost swept the first place from Denki, who he was playing with online, Another round of stomping startled Eijirou to drive off the edge of the rainbow road.

Damnit, he had money riding on this round.

A fist pounded on his door, and Eijirou slammed his switch onto the bed, causing it to bounce as he stood.

“EI, get your ass out here, I need something indestructible!” Katsuki yelled through the door.

“Katsuki, we are not sparing, your ankle is still shattered. you're supposed to be laying down!”

“OI those doctors don't know shit, so get out here now!”

“No!” Eijirou yelled, bracing his back against the door, shaking from the force of Katsuki's fists.

“Don't market yourself as an unbreakable punching bag if you don't want to be used as one fuck face!” Katsuki yelled.

“Go lay down Katsuki!” Eijirou yelled, refusing to be aggravated by his friend, after all, he had been dealing with this mood for days, so he was pretty good at it by now.

Eijirou was almost willing to let it go when a sudden crashing of metal on metal reverberated from the kitchen. That was the straw that broke Eijirou's fragile level of self-preservation, and he wrenched open the door to his temporary bedroom.

“Oh hell, not again!” Eijirou muttered to himself

After marching down the hall he was rewarded by the sight of his furious temporary roommate wrestling with the pots and pans.

“Where the fuck are you, you fucking Shitty 6-inch saucepan you fuck!” Katsuki yelled at the pots, swearing excessively even for him.

Eijirou was rethinking his decision to come in here, but before he could escape KAtsuki spun holding his prize.

“Shitty hair.” Katsuki deadpanned in greeting.

“Hey, bro!” Eijirou greeted me, attempting his best. I'm here for you so please don't punch me in the face with a smile.

“The fuck you want?” KAtsuki grumbled, throwing the pan on top of the stovetop.

“I remember asking you to follow the doctor's directions, but clearly, you're not going to. So wanna talk bro to bro?” Eijirou gestures between them.

“Now why would I want that?” Katsuki asked, eyes narrowed. He let the cutting board he was holding smack loudly on top of the countertop. Eijirou flinched slightly at the loud noise.

“Come on man. I've given you 4 days to chill after Mido left, but you can't keep being so pissy. You're gonna burst a blood vessel.” Ejiro argued.

“Shut the fuck up. “ Katsuki shouted.

“Dude seriously! Midoriya is going to be on his mission for the rest of the week. How is he gonna react if he comes home and you no longer have a left foot? Seriously, where are your crutches” Eijirou argued,

“I would shut up if I was you,” Katsuki growled, and that is the exact moment Eijirou recognized what he was cooking.

“Are you cooking katsudon again? Bro, I thought we talked about this yesterday!” Eijirou cried. Katsuki had made katsudon every day so far, sometimes multiple times a day.

It was cute that he constantly made his missing boyfriend's favorite meal. Well, it would be cute but Katsuki always made 3 servings of katsudon, and Eijirou was going to vomit if he had to eat another.

And her Katsuki was again, making another serving. Probably having spent thousands of yen on ingredients in the last few days alone.

“Don't we have enough in the fridge if you want some? This isn't healthy mentally or physically.” Eijirou Snatched the meat mallet, Katsuki had been demolishing a piece of chicken and his counter at the same time.

Katsuki's awful attitude had been declining since last Friday when Midoriya had gotten a summons from the Hero Commission. They had only waited 2 days after Izuku had gotten his official Pro hero Status to send him on some undercover mission.

Izuku hadn't given them a lot of details before he left, as it was an undercover mission and most of the details were confidential. All they knew was that it would take about a week, and they would have no contact with Izuku or Todoroki on the mission.

“Shitty hair, I swear to God!” Katsuki yelled, trying to wrestle the mallet back. Eijirou spun to keep it out of Katsuki's sparking hands. Plus he was faster as Katsuki was limping heavily from his bandaged leg.

“Not until you face your emotions!” Eijirou cried, jumping on the couch and raising the Mallet above his head to keep it from Katsuki's reach. His bad handle on his emotions had landed Him in the hospital after he lost his cool during a chase and smacked into a concrete parking garage. He had gotten the criminal, and a fractured ankle for his trouble

“No, Shut the hell up loser!” Katsuki screamed.

“Bakubro, Repressing your emotions is not the manly way to go!” Ejiro screamed as Katsuki tackled him to the ground. “And take care of your broken body!”

Before Eijirou could regain the upper hand the door to the apartment door was flung open. There, standing in all his battle-beaten glory, stood Midoriya Izuku.

Everyone froze for a second before Katsuki was up and moving faster than Izuku could open his mouth.

Katsuki launched himself from the floor, and at the shorter man, Midoriya caught him around the nape of his waist. Izuku used the momentum to spin around Katsuki held tightly in his arm, and he laughed. The whole time he spun he managed to keep Katsuki airborne, feet swinging above the ground, an impressive feat considering Katsuki was a couple of inches taller.

“Kacchan!” Izuku cried, swinging them to a stop and finally letting Katsuki’s feet touch the floor.

Katsuki pulled back and used his grip on the freckled boy's face to manhandle him into different angles to inspect his face. A hand gently caresses a bandage on Izuku's neck.

“Hey, I'm fine, Just small stuff!” Izuku whispered in the space between their faces, flashing his boyfriend his signature smile.

Katsuki’s eyes flicked between Izuku’s eyes. Apparently whatever he found had reassured him, because Katsuki launched himself at his boyfriend's mouth. Kissing him hungrily, Katsuki pulled his boyfriend even closer like he was trying to squish their atoms together.

“Mido your back!” Eijirou yelled as he got to his feet, a mallet lay forgotten on the ground.

Katsuki finally pulled back from malling his boyfriend, allowing Midoriya to shoot Eijirou a sunny smile.

“Yeah! The mission was much shorter than expected, so here I am!” he cheered, even as Katsuki continued to drink in his face.

“You could have called, we would have picked you up!” Eijirou cheered, knowing he wouldn't be subjected to 3 more days of pouty Katsuki.

“I had a ride, don't worry!” Midoriya smiled again before his face was tugged back to look at Katsuki, who was pouting with the loss of attention.

Eijirou heard someone pounding up the stairs, behind them.

And at that exact moment, Todoroki Shoto appeared at the door, Katsuki threw Midoriya over his shoulder and matched him down the hall, and slammed her bedroom door behind them.

So Eijirou was left standing with Todoroki in his friend's living room, panicking.

“Oh hi, todo- bro!” Eijirou said, searching for an excuse. Seeing as until a week and a half ago Midoriya and Kasturi's relationship was a closely guarded secret. And in their love blindness, they might have just revealed the whole thing. So Eijirou had to clean up this mess fast.

“Wow! Aren't Mido and Kats just the best platonic bros?” Even Eijirou winced at that. A Smooth and totally not suspicious lie.

Todoroki merely tilted his head and continued to stare blank faced.

“Yup, I love to greet all my bros by picking them up and marching them around the house.” Eijirou forced a laugh. God, he was so bad at this. Katsuki was going to kill him.

“Oh sorry I thought you knew?” Todoroki asked, closing the door behind him.

“Knew what?” Eijirou asked.

“Oh I thought living here you must know,” Todoroki continued, deadpan, “That Izuku and Katsuki are disgustingly in love.”

Eijirou’s mouth dropped open.

“You knew?!” Eijirou cried.

“Of course I did.” Todoroki nodded, “I figured out that they liked each other the 3rd time I found them making out on patrol. They are not very sneaky”

Eijiro's mouth hung open as he watched the Half and Half user settle himself on the couch as he lived there, and turn on the tv to a news channel.

“Wait! How long have you known!” Eijirou yelled, “And why didn't you tell us, aren't you mister conspiracy theories?!”

“ Well, it's no fun to talk about if it's obvious.” Todoroki snorted, “ They literally made out behind the curtains after walking during graduation, how none of you caught them is a mystery to me.”

“ Wow, okay,” Eijirou said, falling to sit next to him on the couch, before glancing down the mysterious quiet hallway.

“You don't think there..” Eijirou aside horrified.

“Oh no, they have more shame than that.” Todorokia said, “At least I think they do.”

“Holy hell,” Eijirou said, spinning, “You know, so I have someone to vent to about how gross they are.”

“They're awful,” Todoroki agreed, “they make me feel so violently single. But they were bound to get together sooner or later. At least it happened quickly enough. If I heard one more rant about how Katsuki's chest would make a perfect pillow, I was going to freeze my ears off”

“Yeah, imagine living with them, it's like my own chick flick, that I can turn off or escape,” Eijirou complains rolling his head to look a the tv

The new story changed to a video of the ruins of what used to be a large military-like compound. Smoke billowed from several points, and helicopters and trucks converged on to the building.

The text on the bottom of the screen revealed it to be the secret base of a new group of villains that had been terrorizing half of Japan. The villains had been attacked and arrested yesterday by unnamed heroes.

Wait a minute.

“Todoroki, were you guys?” Eijirou looked at him, and remanence of concrete in his hair.

Todoroki glanced at the TV and quickly walked away.

Suspicious

“I'm eating your food.” he answers instead, opening the fridge,” since I am Katsuki's best friend I know he has cold soba for me.”

“ We are not friends. Stop telling people that.” Katsuki yelled from the bedroom, as he and Midoriya exited, still wrapped together.

Eijirou chose to ignore the state of the hair and clothes, ignorance is bliss after all, and Eijirou hoped to remain as blissful as he could.

“ why Did Todoroki know before me?!” Eijirou challenged his best friend.

“Not by fucking choice. He's too fucking quiet and sneaks up on you. Little freak walked into the kitchen, saw us kissing, and made himself a sandwich.” Katsuki said, visibly less pissy than 10 minutes ago.

“If I stopped what I was doing every time you to kissed, I would die of starvation,'' Todoroki said from where his head was still stuck in the fridge.

Eijirou noticed that Katsuki was walking stiffly, trying to hide his limp, which meant Midoriya didn't know yet.

“ Kats, did you at least grab your crutches from the room?”

MIdoriya gasped and spun to look at his boyfriend, who was glaring at Eijirou.

If looks could kill, Eijirou would have died long ago, but they can't, so Eijirou remained smug.

Was it underhanded to use his boyfriend against him, maybe, but will it save Katsuki's doctor from having another nervous breakdown, also yes?

“Deku, chill my ankles are only a little broken.'' Katsuki tried, attempting to pull his boyfriend back into their previous embrace.

“Broken! And you're walking, Wait you carried me. Kacchan no!” Midoriya cried and reached under Katsuki's armpits. He lifted Katsuki like a naughty kitty and swung him over the armrest of the couch to settle next to Eijirou.

Katsuki looked on the verge of exploding, until Midoriya settled on top of his lap, throwing his legs to rest on Eijirou.

“If I have to sit on you to get you to rest then I will,” Midoriya said decisively, but by the smug look on Katsuki's demon face, he didn't view that as much of a punishment.

Katsuki settled his arm behind his boyfriend's back, on the armrest.

They fit back together like puzzle pieces, and for the first time in half a week, Eijirou saw his friend relax, turning back into the Katsuki they all know and love.

Midoriya seemed to relax, head falling into the crook of Katsukis neck.

“Please take care of yourself Kacchan,” Midoriya said slowly, murmuring into the skin below his chin.

“I will, Someone has to make sure you don't get yourself killed,” Katsuki grumbled, placing an apologetic kiss into the curls of Midoriya's hair.

Eijirou watched Mido pull away just enough to rest their foreheads together. It was a ritual Eijirou had seen them do a lot after the war, and a few times after a rough patrol. A way to settle themselves, and prove that each other was still there, still alive.

The mission must have been worse than either Todoroki or Midoriya let on.

Eijirou smiled and rested a hand on one of the legs thrown over his.

“I'm glad you guys are back safe,” Eijirou said.

“Glad to be home,” Midoriya said, resting his back on Katsuki's shoulder.

A thump on the other side of the couch startled all of them, and they spun to see Todoroki sitting at the other end, eating from a bowl. None of them had noticed him crossing the room. Katsuki was right, they needed to bell him as soon as possible.

“Why do you have 5 bowls of katsudon in the fridge?” Todoroki asked.

“Katsudon!” Midoriya cheered shooting up.

“On no, you don't, you can have it for dinner, its my cuddle time,” Katsuki yelled, stopping Midoriya's movements, with a smack to his nearest shoulder.

“Okay, Kacchan.” Midoriya smiled again.

All four new minuted pro heroes settled again, lounging together, and reminding each other that they were all safe, and they were home.

“Why is there a meat mallet on the floor?”
