Chapter Text

Cigarettes and the dull smell of alcohol permeated through the air outside the venue, people talking and gossiping while the static and shrill sounds of the next band’s setup rang throughout the building. Saturday nights were always the busiest, which was great for performers who were trying to get their name out there, but it was also competitive since there were always limited spots and some groups had already made a name for themselves and were crowd favorites. The next group was setting up, the sudden sharp and percussive sounds of them testing their instruments on the darkened stage resonating throughout the crowded room as more and more people filled the complex.

“Now why the hell did they have to pick such a shitty time to perform?” Shinobu sneered as she grabbed her drink and turned toward her sister.

Kanae smiled at her, “Masachika said this was the best time to grab for them, he had to talk to quite a few people to even convince them to give them this time slot since its a popular showing,”

Shinobu rolled her eyes at her sister’s response, “I guess, but still, it’s crowded as fuck.”

The pair of sisters walked through the crowd of people, Shinobu leading because even though she was smaller, she was a bit more assertive, giving people a sharp ‘excuse us’ before shoving past them as they headed towards the main stage. “Mitsuri’s already here, right?”

“I believe she arrived with Obanai earlier so she should already be back there,”

“Hey!” The pair turned toward the new voice, a familiar pair of purple eyes and orange hair strolling up to them. “Is everyone here yet?”

Shinobu shrugged as she stood in front of Sabito, “Kanae and I just got our drinks and we were heading up to the spot, have you heard from G-”

“Guys, guys!” Another voice chimed in, the small group turned to meet the bright, emerald eyes of their friend, Mitsuri. They watch as she pokes the security guard, saying a small ‘sorry, excuse me’ before making her way past him and towards the group, “You made it,” she moved to hug each one of them.

“Of course, we did,” Shinobu returned her quick embrace.

“Kyojuro’s here too, he arrived with Akaza and Tengen!” Mitsuri commented as she moved on to Kanae.

Kanae hugged Mitsuri back, “Your outfit is spot on as usual.”

“Oh,” Mitsuri gave a small twirl; her outfit consisted of a pink and black plaid pleated skirt with lace trim along a chain dangling from the belt loops, her top a cropped tank with a heavily distressed, cropped pink and black striped sweater, obviously not heavy enough to be considered uncomfortable in a crowded environment like this. “Thank you, Kanae, you look great too!” Both Shinobu and Kanae’s outfits looked similar except both followed their own styles with Shinobu’s following a purple aesthetic, while Kanae’s followed a floral one that her boyfriend helped her pick out before coming.

“Hey,” Sabito moved to grab Shinobu’s attention. “I haven’t heard from-”

His sentence was cut off by a loud cheer from the audience as the lights in the room dimmed, signaling the start of the show. Mitsuri squealed before dragging the group to follow her backstage, Shinobu giving Sabito a knowing look before following along. The security guard moved out of the way for the group after Mitsuri said they were with her, her charm truly having no limits. Right as they got to the side of the stage, a loud, brutal guitar riff along with the pounding of drums began, the intro being a familiar one to the group and the crowd.

“They’re starting with that song? Sanemi’s really trying to fuck up his vocal cords right off the bat,” Shinobu commented as they watched the group start up their first song.

“Hey,” A familiar loud voice joined them, Kyojuro coming into view with a plate of food in his hands.

“You should’ve said you were getting something, I would’ve texted you my order,” Shinobu grabbed a single chip from his plate of loaded nachos, Sabito following suit.

“Sorry, I was in a rush trying to help set up before my order was done, people try to steal other’s food if you’re not there to pick it up,”

Kanae and Mitsuri also stepped in to grab some nachos as well, Kyojuro thinking he’ll probably need to place another order during this showing. “Kyo, is Masachika around?” Kanae asked, her voice raised due to the volume.

Kyojuro’s eyebrows furrowed, “I know he’s around here, he was talking to the manager and owner a little bit ago, I think-”

“Hey, hey I’m here!” Masachika jogged over, looking tired. He placed a chaste kiss on Kanae’s lips before holding her hand and joining the group. “Sorry, I was talking to some people about possibly getting the group another showing next week.”

“And?” Sabito’s eyebrows furrowed as he munched on another chip, Kyojuro already on his phone submitting another online order for two extra large loaded nachos.

“They’re considering it!” Masachika spoke brightly, “They said they have a strong stage presence, they liked their previous show from last week when they performed at the Orpheum and from what they can see already, tonight looks like it will be just as, if not equally, as great as last week’s.”

The loud and harsh vocals from their friend resonating next to them, ‘ cut cut cut me up, and fuck fuck fuck me up!!’ along with the crowd thrashing with them, Masachika’s words rang true. They all knew their friends’ band would be a successful one; Sanemi, Tengen, Obanai, and Akaza knew how to draw a crowd in with their talent and presence.

Sanemi was one of the guitarists, the second being Tengen, both were vocals and would switch between songs. Sanemi’s vocals tended to be harsher between the two, taking on the harder songs they’d cover, but Tengen still sang his fair share. Tengen was the main showman out of all of them, when it came to how he acted on stage all the way to what he wore, he was always the one grabbing the most attention which was no problem for the others. Obanai was the bassist and was good at what he does, his stage presence wasn’t as out there as the others but people were still drawn to him because he was the quiet type. Akaza was the drummer, he perfected his talent at a young age due to needing an outlet for his aggression. Tengen was actually the one who proposed he join their group after hearing him play from his garage, it wasn’t the most ideal invitation but Akaza accepted nonetheless. Together they performed small shows here and there before actual venues started to hear about them. Around that time is when Sanemi’s best friend, Masachika, stepped in to help them organize their schedules and book them at better places.

They had been doing shows for a couple of years now, their popularity only growing over time. Besides their talent, their stage presence was what kept people coming back, they just had a way of drawing people in. They stuck to doing covers in the beginning but they slowly wanted to branch into possibly writing their own music.

The group watched their friends perform, going through a few songs that they knew were popular while also singing some new ones, Tengen taking over some vocals to let Sanemi’s rest. Their fans were a bit much, some- most being there for obvious reasons, but they were supportive nonetheless. After a few more songs, they finished off with a final cover of Metallica, and by the end they were all already sweaty, tired, and breathing heavily. Tengen was the one to give the final ‘goodbye’ and to look out for their next show as they walked off stage to meet their friends on the side.

“Y’all did great!” Mitsuri complimented the group, her boyfriend, Obanai, going straight to her, placing a kiss on her cheek.

“Are you surprised?” Tengen asked cockily, the question obviously rhetorical. The group was putting their instruments away while everyone else moved to the side to get ready to head out, letting the next group get ready to set up.

Sanemi immediately went for his water, nearly chugging the whole thing, his friends snickering off to the side, “Ever think about not doing so many songs that strain your voice in one sitting?” Shinobu chides.

Sanemi rolls his eyes at the question, his hand coming up to wipe away the side of his mouth, “Considering those are people’s favorites, it’s hard not to.”

Shinobu was about to speak up again when her phone pinged with a notification, Sabito looking over her shoulder to see if it was from the person they were waiting for. She excused herself, walking past the barricade, Sabito explaining to the group that she was just going to find one of their friends. The group sat together while Sanemi, Tengen, Obanai, and Akaza all packed up their equipment. They were discussing where they should head to eat, Tengen yelling about how he knows a place with good burgers and beer, others coming in to chime in with their own opinions and suggestions.

Shinobu returned to the group, dragging the friend Sabito said she was retrieving with her, “Hey guys, this is Sabito and I’s friend, his name’s-”

Sanemi was packing his guitar away when he heard Shinobu speak up, introducing whoever this new person was. He turned around in order to not come across as impolite, about to give a half-assed and tired greeting but as he did, he completely blanked out on what he was going to say, all he got from what she said was the name of the prettiest person he has ever seen in his life as everything else seemed to slow down.

Giyuu Tomioka, that was his name.

The man himself looked absolutely perfect even with the poor lighting of the area they were in. He looked slightly nervous standing next to his friend as she introduced him to the group but was all smiles when saying ‘hi’ along with a small and timid wave. He had the deepest blue eyes Sanemi has ever seen accompanied by one of the gentlest voices he had ever heard. His skin was a bit flushed as he even fanned himself a bit, Sanemi wondering if it was because of his outfit which was a long sleeve, black crewneck sweater and skin-tight, ripped jeans. It didn’t seem like the most ideal environment to wear such a heavy outfit, but even so, he pulled it off well.

Sanemi was seriously wondering where this person had been all his life, and he probably wouldn’t admit it, but his heart did skip when Giyuu’s eyes landed on him as Shinobu introduced each of them to him.

Blue.

Sanemi always liked the color blue.

He was pulled out of his thoughts from an elbow to his side, Obanai telling him they have to finish packing up. Sanemi returned to what he was doing before being distracted by a literal angel. He was thinking to himself on how he could spark up a conversation with Giyuu, he doesn’t know why he was freaking out so much about having to talk to someone, he’s dated before- wait. Why is he already jumping to dating, he hasn’t even sparked up one word to the new individual. He sighed, he couldn’t help it, he always had an eye for pretty things and Giyuu was the most gorgeous person he’d ever lay eyes on.

After locking up his guitar and other equipment, he realized he was the last one to finish packing. Turning around, he walked back over to his friends; Kyojuro was sitting between his boyfriends, Tengen and Akaza, followed by Obanai and Mitsuri, who was talking to Kanae next to her. She was sitting with  Masachika who was chatting away with Sabito and Shinobu, and at the end of it all sat Giyuu with an empty space next to him. He seemed to be just listening in on the conversations happening around him, smiling and laughing at whatever was funny, that image carving itself into Sanemi’s mind. He tried to be as casual as he could, his hands resting in his pockets as he walked over, Giyuu noticed his presence and scooted a little bit to give Sanemi more room to sit, Sanemi not minding one bit of the close proximity.

Sanemi was too busy in his head to even realize the person next to him was speaking, “Hm?” His head snapped to the side to finally meet those blue eyes up close.

“Sanemi, right? Your show, I was just saying you guys were awesome,” Giyuu complimented.

“Oh, thanks,” Sanemi found himself stuck on how else to respond but Giyuu didn’t seem phased at all by the minimal thanks. Before Sanemi could try to strike up a conversation, the mic on stage rang and the announcer introduced the next act. The new group starting up followed by the crowd cheering which meant everyone would have to speak in louder volumes. Sanemi could see Giyuu was going to ask him something, as if him leaning forward a bit wasn’t a giveaway, Sanemi leaning in just a little to meet him halfway.

“Does your voice hurt afterwards, like after a show?” Giyuu spoke over the thundering drums and guitar riffs.

Sanemi nodded as he went back to his original position, “Yeah, most of the time, tea and honey usually help, but I usually just drink water right after,”

“I could imagine,” Giyuu smiled, tucking some of his hair behind his ear, exposing his several ear piercings, one being an industrial one. Sanemi made a mental note to ask Giyuu how it was getting that since he was planning on getting one himself, or maybe he was just looking for more things to talk to him about to listen to his voice more. “Do you normally perform songs that harsh all the time?”

“Not all the time, but they’re fan favorites so we tend to focus on them a lot more than others,” Sanemi took another swig of water. “Was this your first time coming?”

Giyuu nodded happily, “Yes, I had been meaning to come and see your group for a while. Shinobu and Sabito were always inviting me to finally meet you guys, but I’m always busy with school. But this show lined up perfectly with my schedule so it all worked out,”

“Well, hopefully you can keep coming since you enjoyed it,”

If the lights weren’t so dim, Sanemi could say confidently that Giyuu looked like he was blushing, what he could make out was the small ‘of course’ that escaped his lips.

Sanemi could not stop staring, he could see Giyuu clearer now that he was up close and could say he was the actual definition of perfection in his books. His hair was tied up in a high ponytail but Sanemi knew if he wore it down, it would cascade past his shoulders. He doesn’t know how it happened but he feels Giyuu’s eyes had become bluer now that he was closer to him. They seemed endless like the ocean, sucking him in like a whirlpool that he did not mind drowning in. He was seriously questioning why Sabito or Shinobu failed to introduce Giyuu to him- them earlier.

The group on stage finally switched to a different song, one that wasn’t as loud so they wouldn’t have to strain their voices as much. Sanemi leaned over the smallest amount, “Aren’t you hot?”

“Huh?” Now Giyuu was definitely blushing.

“No, I mean, like, in your sweater,” he backtracked, not wanting to come off as aggressive or make Giyuu uncomfortable.

“Oh, yeah, um,” Giyuu pulled his sleeves up a little. “It is a bit hot but it’s okay cause I have ripped jeans so that sorta helps.”

Sanemi hummed in acknowledgment, “Not gonna lie, it was the first thing I noticed when Shinobu introduced you to us. Doesn’t seem like the most comfortable outfit to wear here just cause it gets real humid and hot real fast with it being crowded and all.”

“No, it does,” Giyuu confirmed, messing with a fraying string on his jeans, not looking at Sanemi. “It’s only because my-”

“Hey, Giyuu,” Sabito called over, pulling Giyuu into another conversation, but Sanemi didn’t really mind, content with watching Giyuu interact with others. He could feel prying eyes on him, knowing well he was being incredibly obvious about his interest in Giyuu and that he wouldn’t hear the end of it after tonight. But Sanemi did enjoy their little conversations just now, he feels he’s always been somewhat of a good judge of character and he didn’t sense any negativity or insincerity from Giyuu, plus he knows Sabito and Shinobu were picky when it came to their friends so that meant Giyuu must’ve at least checked off most bars. He’s had his fair share of people being fake towards him or his friends and only hanging around with second intentions.

But Giyuu was honest and cute- adorable even, but definitely beautiful. He was also okay with conversation, he seemed a little awkward but nothing out of the ordinary considering he just met a whole group of new people so it would only be natural to be a little nervous during the first meeting. However, something was pulling Sanemi in more like a labored fisherman to the sea, he wanted to know more about him. Was he smitten at first sight? Extremely , but he also wanted to get to know Giyuu more just cause he genuinely enjoyed his presence.

He waited for Giyuu to be done with whatever he was talking about before bumping his elbow against his to get his attention. Giyuu’s head snapped quickly around to Sanemi, his eyes a little wide but probably because of the sudden touch, but Sanemi felt his voice get stuck in his throat for a second or two because damn were Giyuu’s eyes entrancing.

Clearing his throat he managed to find his voice and ask, “Are you joining us afterwards? We’re probably gonna head somewhere to eat, you’re welcome to come,”

“Oh, I-”

“Giyuu, why haven’t you answered my texts?” A new voice joined the group, Sanemi noticing Giyuu’s posture straightening immediately as he looked up at the newcomer.

Giyuu stood up to meet this new person, “I was just meeting up with Shinobu and Sabito, I told you,”

The guy was tall, probably around the same height and build as Tengen, with dark hair, though not as dark e as Giyuu’s midnight black hair. He seemed to be muttering something to Giyuu and Giyuu was just nodding along to whatever he was saying. Sanemi could see from the corner of his eye the hostility in Shinobu’s expression as she watched the exchange. The pair seemed to realize others were looking at them, Giyuu took the guy’s hand in his and Sanemi felt his shoulders sink, but then Giyuu looked at him then the guy.

“This is Sanemi,” He introduced, his voice not holding the same enthusiasm it did before. “He was part of the group that just performed,”

“Hey,” Sanemi nodded.

“Hey, it was a good show,” He responded though his words held no weight to them, not even looking at Sanemi as he responded.

Giyuu must’ve sensed the awkwardness and turned towards the rest of the group, “Oh, um, everyone this is my boyfriend, Kage.” Everyone greeted him welcomingly but everything still seemed off. He gave a half-assed hello much to Giyuu’s displeasure. Tengen being the social one, piped up, “Hey, we're all going out for food and drinks if you wanna join,”

Giyuu was going to answer much like he was Sanemi, but his said boyfriend responded first, “Thanks, but we’re gonna head out,” leaving no room for debate or argument.

Sanemi could see Giyuu looked upset but tried his best to mask it with something that feigned acceptance. Kage released his hand from Giyuu's grasp, beginning to walk away, obviously wanting Giyuu to follow. Giyuu looked back at the group, if one looked closer they could see he was slightly embarrassed but he tried his best to hide it. He looked at his friends, Sabito and Shinobu, “I’ll text you,” he told them before giving everyone a small goodbye and a halfhearted wave. He turns to Sanemi, giving a small meek ‘goodbye’ before walking away to the man waiting for him at the barricades.

***

Giyuu tries to reach for his boyfriend’s hand again but he snatches his hand away, turning to look at Giyuu as they make their way through the crowd. Giyuu’s eyes grow wide as he sees the anger in his eyes, Kage rolling his eyes at Giyuu’s confusion, “Of course you’d fucking flirt behind my back, what else did I expect,”

“I wasn’t flirting,” Giyuu protested, trying to grab his hand again. They finally made their way outside, Kage turning around sharply to have Giyuu almost walk straight into him, grabbing the wrist of the hand Giyuu was reaching at him with.

“You sure? Cause you seemed to be enjoying yourself smiling and giggling with that fucking guy,”

Giyuu winced at the grip, “I was just being nice, he’s one of Shinobu and Sabito’s friends, and I just-”

“You were fucking blushing too,” the grip tightened causing Giyuu to wince.

“It’s hot and my face is flushed, you told me to wear this outfit,” he explained.

“Yeah cause if you wore the shit in your closet you might as well be asking every guy in here to fuck you,”

“Hey,” one of the bouncer's voices came between them. “Everything okay here?”

Kage suddenly let go of Giyuu’s wrist, his expression shifting immediately into a calm one, his thumb tracing gently across where he was gripping onto Giyuu, it was almost soothing, “Yes, just a small misunderstanding, we’re good,”

The bouncer looked over at Giyuu, who smiled, “We’re okay, sorry,” he spoke sheepishly.

After he deemed them okay, the couple began walking away until they were out of earshot, he let go of Giyuu’s wrist, the gentle touch gone completely as if it was never there, “I told you to wait for me anyways,”

“I did, but Shinobu found me and I told you where I’d be,” Giyuu rubbed his wrist. “How were you even running late? We-”

“None of your fucking business, Jesus,” He snapped.

The conversation seemed to die down at that point, both making their way to the car. They wordlessly got in and drove off, Giyuu didn’t want to argue anymore, he hated fighting. He settled on the fact that he probably should’ve told Shinobu that Kage was going to find him, that it was his own fault for walking away because if he hadn’t he wouldn’t be mad now. He didn’t think he was flirting with Sanemi though, only simply making conversation. It was rare Giyuu could be that social but he was happy to see all the ones his friends talk about, Sanemi just happened to be the closest to him.

He hopes maybe in the future he could follow Sanemi's invitation and go to more shows, maybe this time actually meet up with the group in time to watch it all together. Maybe- just maybe Kage would be more social and not so upset with him, then maybe everything would go over smoothly. They continued not to say anything as they drove, though Giyuu was upset from the argument, he was also content knowing he probably made a few new friends.

***

Back at the venue, the group of friends were preparing to head out after Giyuu’s departure, “Well, he seemed charming,” Akaza commented, his head resting against Kyojuro’s shoulder while Tengen’s arm was draped around both of them.

“I don’t like him,” Shinobu scowled as she crossed her arms.

“Why?”

“He just seems weird,” Sabito responded for her, Shinobu’s eyebrows furrowing as she nodded along.

“Has Giyuu ever said anything?” Mitsuri asked, obviously a little worried by her friend’s words.

Sabito shook his head, “No, he always says they’re good and that everything’s fine, but something has just always seemed off whenever he’s around,” he shrugged.

“He’s just an asshole,” Shinobu added.

“He just didn’t seem like the conversational type,” Kanae added her own opinion, Masachika agreeing.

Sanemi didn’t add anything as everyone conversed, all of them getting up to start heading out to wherever they planned on eating at the late hour. The band members grabbed their equipment, saying goodbye to the staff as they all headed out the back. They all ended up settling for the place Tengen recommended, the bar being close enough for them to walk to. Tengen, Kyojuro, and Akaza were obnoxiously flirting with each other, giving each other the most obscene of comments, making the group want to part from them just to spare them from the vulgarity.

Tengen noticed Akaza look at his phone after getting a pinged notification, watching him scowl before swiping it away and shoving his phone into his pocket. He squeezed his boyfriend’s shoulder, “Everything okay?”

Akaza shook his head dismissively, “Everything’s fine, just dumb social media comments is all,” and with that, that conversation was done and they had arrived at their destination.

They found a large corner booth, perfect for a party of their size, Tengen ordering the first round on him before the waitress departed to give them time to look at the menu. Shinobu was commenting on how greasy every item probably is, Tengen commenting on how it just adds flavor, everyone deciding amongst themselves on what to get. Obanai and Mitsuri just decided to share a plate, Masachika and Kanae doing just the same, while Tengen ordered the bar’s infamous monster burger, claiming he needed carbs and protein before he went to the gym the next day. Shinobu and Sabito ordered the same turkey burger while the rest of the guys ordered different types of specialized burgers from the menu. After collecting all the menus, the waitress departs before stating she’ll put that order in for them.

Everyone goes back to their conversations from before, drinking the beer Tengen ordered for them. Sanemi, however, stuck to himself as he scrolled through his phone, seeing a few videos on his feed from some of their regular fans from the show that night. He looked at his inbox, finding nothing but crude messages from fans talking about how hot he looked on stage and what they would want him to do to them.

Delete.

Sanemi often wonders if some of those fans just see them as sex symbols rather than actual people. Don’t get him wrong, he’s confident in his looks, he knew he completed that ‘ideal look’ for most of their fans with his two full sleeves and piercings, but the constant fangirls and fanboys that try to get in not only his pants but also his fellow band members’ as well, were annoying as hell. Even someone like Obanai who makes his relationship very well known has gotten some vulgar messages, Tengen is the one who gets the most and is actually the one who gets most irritated considering he’s also made it known that he’s taken by his ‘two insanely hot boyfriends who he fucks almost every night’ (his words). But Sanemi never entertains them, just simply swipes left and deletes the messages altogether, blocking someone if they go too far.

However, Sanemi’s mind just seems to be drifting as he continues to mindlessly scroll through social media, tonguing the metal in his mouth against his cheek. He’s pulled out of his daze when he feels an elbow to his side, looking over at the man next to him, already scowling internally as he knows what Tengen’s about to pester him with.

“What do you think, Shina?”

“Of what?”

“Of Giyuu’s boyfriend,” he explains, “You’re the only one who didn’t comment earlier.”

Sanemi tongued his cheek again, “I have no comment.”

Tengen scoffs, completely doubtful, “Fucking liar, you mess with your piercing whenever you’re annoyed.”

Sanemi ignored him and continued to mess with the metal ball on his tongue, pushing it to roll between his teeth, obviously annoyed by his bandmate’s persistence. Sighing, he responds, “He just seemed annoyed,”

“He did seem like he wasn’t happy to be there,” Kyojuro comments.

“You know who did look like they were happy to be there?” Tengen side-eyes Sanemi, the latter rolling his eyes, knowing exactly what was coming. Tengen slapped an aggressive hand on Sanemi’s shoulder, “Sorry, Shinazugawa, you tried.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Sanemi gritted his teeth.

Tengen snickered, “You serious? I’ve never seen you smitten like that before, like the second Shinobu pulled him over, you just went gaga for him,”

“Heart eyes,” Akaza commented, Kyojuro nodding along as he snacked on the complimentary bread rolls, saving the last one for Mitsuri as she also went to town on them.

“I didn’t,” Sanemi looked away.

Finally, the waitress arrived with all their food along with some other waiters to help her with the rest of the plates and sides. As they place the food to the designated person, Tengen continues to comment, “Dude, you were literally stuck to him after he was introduced,” however Sanemi doesn’t comment, letting the employees do what they need, asking if they need anything else, both Kyojuro and Mitsuri asking for extra sauce.

Akaza and Kyojuro actually end up sharing their food, Tengen looking at them and their exchange with a smile before turning to bother Sanemi some more, but Sanemi beats him to it.

Sanemi was in the middle of putting ketchup on the side of his plate when he snaps, “Okay, fine whatever, even if I am, it doesn’t matter,” he shakes the bottle to gather whatever is remaining left in the bottle to his plate. “He’s got a boyfriend anyway,”

“Hey,” Tengen slaps his shoulder again. “I thought you were doing great though, he did seem to be comfortable with you even though you just met each other.”

Sanemi ignores the red that probably creeps up on his face and Tengen secedes in his questions and goes back to his food and partners. He pretends not to feel Shinobu or Sabito’s prying side eyes, knowing they most likely were listening in on what he and Tengen were talking about.

Sanemi picked at his food for a moment before he went to turning one of the rings on his fingers, a habit he had to distract himself from his thinking but didn’t always necessarily help. He sighed, he was fine with his place, did he have a slight yet not-so-slight crush on Giyuu even though this was their first meeting? Absolutely, but he respected Giyuu and his relationship. After all, he just met him, if anything it was his own fault for assuming he was single, but it makes sense that someone like Giyuu would be in a relationship; he was sweet and beautiful, anyone would be lucky to have someone like him.

God , Sanemi was really off his game, wasn’t he? One look, one smile from a pretty boy and he’s already a goner.

He did enjoy talking to him though, he liked seeing Giyuu smile and talk so lively about their minimal topics even though their meeting was brief. Damn, Sanemi never expected this from himself, to have been affected as he was just from one meeting, but Giyuu was in a relationship and that was fine, Sanemi would be okay. He wouldn’t dare think of getting in between a couple and being a homewrecker, and he knew he’d probably see a bit more of Giyuu. With him being friends with Shinobu and Sabito, they were bound to run into each other again sometime, so if the only slot available in his life is to be just a friend then that’s okay too.
