Branded Me With Your Love

Summary:

“You know it’s upside down,” Steve says, absentmindedly tracing the raised edges of Billy’s latest tattoo.
“Munson isn’t that stupid,” Billy smirks, “I got what I asked for.”
“But it’s upside down,” Steve says again.
“Not when I’m watching you on your knees sucking my dick it isn’t.”

Work Text:

“You know it’s upside down,” Steve says, absentmindedly tracing the raised edges of Billy’s latest tattoo.

“Munson isn’t that stupid,” Billy smirks, “I got what I asked for.”

“But it’s upside down,” Steve says again.

“Not when I’m watching you on your knees sucking my dick it isn’t.”

“Oh,” Steve manages to squeak.

“Plus I didn’t want to have to keep bullshitting girls' names with the initials S.H.”

“Sadie Hawkins,” Steve supplies dumbly.

“There’s only one S.H. for me, baby,” Billy kisses Steve’s hair, “I wanted you to know that.”

It dawns on Steve, right then, that Billy also did this to protect him.  The heart from afar looked like it just had a delicate filigree swirl in the center, and even up close it was hard to make out what the letters were unless you looked at it the right way.  Which, was from Billy’s perspective.  Or Steve’s, from where he was now laying on Billy’s chest.

“I can’t believe you did this for me,” Steve touches it again gently.  Billy’s heart thrums steadily underneath his fingertips.  A heart over his heart.  Steve almost wants to cry.

“I don’t want anyone but you,” Billy says softly, “No matter what, ok? You need to know that.  You’re the only one, Steven Matthew Harrington.”

He can’t hold back the tears any longer.  They land on Billy’s tanned skin like dew drops.

“Sweetheart, don’t,” Billy cups Steve’s jaw in his hand and turns his face so they’re staring into each other’s eyes.  Billy’s baby blues look at him from under fluttering lashes, and Steve immediately feels a sense of calm.

Probably he’s crazy for loving Billy as much as he does, but he doesn’t care.

“You’re it for me, too,” Steve whispers.

He falls asleep with Billy’s slender fingers combing through his hair, the soft hum of some song Steve’s never heard before lulling him until his eyelids are too heavy to resist.

The last thing he hears is Billy’s gentle whisper, “I got a million thoughts runnin' in my head, I got a million words, that my mouth has just got to say…
