Work Text:

The Runaway Kid stared at the girl in front of him. She wore a yellow raincoat and sticked out like a sore thumb. She didn't speak much, which The Runaway Kid was grateful for.

Six stared at the boy behind her. She could've sworn she saw a paper bag on his head before. "Psst.. hey.."

Six caught the boy from where she was and you dropped him and pulled him up.

"What." Six whispered sharply, not wanting to make any conversations. "I-I know where we can hide for the meantime." Six scoffed lightly. "We don't need to hide." She said as she continued to crawl through the vent.

"What we need is to continue so we can get out sooner." The Runaway Kid stayed silent, hearing her response. Six couldn't help but have a little drop of her stomach when she didn't hear an argument back.

Six could vaguely remember a boy arguing with her every rash decision. I'm surprised you actually remember him. Six payed no attention to the shadow that resembled her.

"Careful." Sis heard the boy clad in blue whisper. She rolled her eyes and got a sense of deja vû. "Have.. we met before?" She asked hesitantly, not exactly feeling comfortable asking this.

The boy tilted his head slightly just like a certain someone, right Six? and shook his head. "No, we've never met before. Why?" Six didn't answer and ignored The Runaway Kid's question.

After a few more awkward silences, the duo finally arrived at a room, another puzzle. Six saw the key on top of a drawer and signaled The Runaway Kid to follow her.

She got into a position to give him a boost. The Runaway Kid saw her and hesitantly jumped when she gave him a boost. Paper bag boy wouldn't have hesitated"I got the key!" Six heard The Runaway Kid whisper. He threw it down to her the boy would've hung the key on the side of his trench coat. She put the key on the padlock and pushed the door.

The Runaway Kid helped her push and ran with her out the door. The boy almost fell from an open floor. Six caught his hand and watched him pant once the boy realized how close to death he was. He shivered as the cold waves of the ocean brushed his feet.

Doesn't this look familiar, Six? Six pulled The Runaway Kid up to the MAW and nodded emotionlessly when he thanked her. "Don't mention it." She meant that.

Despite her earlier claim of not wanting to rest, she couldn't help but get tired. She yawned and hoped The Runaway Kid didn't see that. "I-if you're tired, we can still go to a safe place to rest." He said hesitantly, not wanting to upset the girl Ŵoūo wouldn't have hesitated to voice his opinion

"Fine." Six sighed and followed The Runaway Kid to wherever the place was. She saw him hug a nome before said nome ran to multiple other nomes. "We're almost there." The Runaway Kid whispered.

"I hope it's comfy enough." He whispered again and they finally stopped. She saw multiple nomes running around and some were sleeping. "It's good enough." She nodded and sat on the floor, not giving The Runaway Kid any more dialog.

He nodded and walked towards the nomes, wanting to play with them.

Six drew shapes on the dust filled floor. She drew a rectangle and pressed dots in it, as eyes. That looks an awful like Mono, Six. She jumped when she heard the name.

Mono. Mono. Who was he? Why does she have such memories with him? You actually forgot about Mono? Six heard the shadow laugh cruelly. After what he did for you? After what you did to him? That's freaking funny. Six didn't understand what she did to Mono but she couldn't help but feel guilty.

Did she leave Mono behind? Did she do something horrible to him? She didn't want to know.

Mono.... she likes the name.. she looked at the drawing she made on the floor, and smiled slightly. She felt so sad, but she doesn't understand why.
