Chapter Text
It is a beautiful day in the land of Hyrule. Amidst the land is a town called Hyrule Town and it is connected with Hyrule Castle, the home of the Hyrulean Royal Family. A boy in green clothing, armed with a small sword and a small wooden shield, has entered the town along with a fairy companion named Navi. The boy's name is Link and he is Hylian Human, even though he grew up with the Kokiri, a group of children who live in the Kokiri Forest and can't age into adults.
Link and Navi were sent by the late Great Deku Tree to find Hyrule Castle and meet with Princess Zelda and present her a shining green and gold stone known as the Kokiri's Emerald. The emerald was given to Link for safekeeping as the Great Deku Tree was murdered by a group of monsters under the command of a powerful dark lord who rules a kningdom in the Western Desert.
As he walks into town, Link examines the stone and then, suddenly, bumps into someone; a beautiful blonde girl who is about Link's age. While bumped, Link accidentally drops the stone and it lands near the girl's feet.
"Oh, I'm sorry," said the girl as she picked up the stone.
"Oh no, I'm sorry," Link replied. "I should've been paying more attention."
The blonde girl eyes the stone in curious wonder. She has never seen anything this beautiful. "This stone is pretty," she said.
"Thank you," Link returned and then begins to mutter nervously as the girl continues to look at it. "Uhh... I don't mean to be rude or anything, but can I have that back? It's really important to me."
The girl glances to Link and hesitates a little bit. "Here you go," she finally said as she gave the stone back to him. "How important is it, may I ask?"
"Well..." Link began nervously. Suddenly, Navi angrily flutters around Link with the girl watching in amazement. "Link! You know we can't tell anyone about this!" The fairy exclaimed.
"Oh!" The girl exclaimed. She is happy to see an entity such as Navi. "Is that a fairy?!"
"Yes, it is," Link replied and then turned to Navi. "It's okay, Navi. I think she means no harm. She's just a little girl."
Hmmph!" The Fairy retorted and immediately flies into Link's pocket.
"Please excuse Navi," Link said to the little girl. "Fairies are usually really friendly. I do not understand what's gotten into her."
"That's okay," the girl said as she giggled. "Say... Are you from the forest, by any chance?"
"Yes, I am," Link replied in a happy manner. He is starting to enjoy the conversation he is having with this blue-eyed blonde girl. "I'm from the Kokiri Forest. I was sent here by the Great Deku Tree to give this stone to Princess Zelda and warn her of a great danger that is coming to Hyrule." He suddenly cringed as he feared that he may of said too much.
The little blonde girl, however, does not look frightened at the sound of this information. "I see," she finally said. "I hate to tell you this, but normally, it'll be impossible to reach the princess because the castle she lives in is heavily guarded and surrounded by a moat that is impossible to cross without getting spotted."
Link glances down to the ground; he is very depressed at hearing how it'll be impossible to reach the princess. The girl eyes him for a little bit, especially at his beautiful green eyes, and then smiles as an idea popped into her head.
"Hey," she addressed to Link. "I'll make you a deal: If you play with me in this town today, I'll take you to see Princess Zelda afterwards, okay?"
"Really?" Link asked. "You'd do that? How?"
"You see... I'm friends with Princess Zelda," she whispered. "I can prove it." She reached into her pocket and pulled out a blue ocarina, or a flute-like instrument. It had a strange emblem resembling three golden triangles in the mouthpiece.
"Wow!" Link exclaimed, mesmerized at the sight of the blue ocarina and a little puzzled at the sight of the emblem. "I have an ocarina, too! I'll show you!"
As Link reaches into the pocket opposite to the one Navi is hiding in, the girl suddenly gasps, put the blue ocarina in her pocket and ducked behind a wooden fence.
"Excuse me, young man," a voice called out to Link, startling him. He turns to see a tall woman in her 30s. She is wearing blue armor and looks intimidating with her silver hair, red eyes, and a strange tattoo on her forehead. "Have you seen a little noble girl around here?" She asked. "She is about your height with blonde hair and blue eyes."
Link stutters for a moment, glancing at the wooden fence the girl hid behind. "Yes," he finally said glancing back to the woman and pointing to the gatehouse. "I think I have seen her approaching the gatehouse over there."
The woman glances to the gatehouse, then to the fence the girl hid behind and then to Link. "Thank you," she said and then head toward the gatehouse.
When the woman was out of sight, the little girl came out of her hiding spot and smiled at Link. "Thanks a bunch," she said in a gaily, grateful manner and then extends her hand. "So... do we have a deal?"
After a moment's hesitation, Link shakes her hand. "Yes," he said.
"Splendid," she squealed and began dragging Link to the middle of the town. "Let's go!"
Link has never felt happier since leaving his home behind. He and Navi are a step closer to accomplishing his mission. He, also, cannot wait to see what the princess is like, especially noticing how beautiful this strange golden-headed girl is.
