Work Text:

For Nakime things had been going just as usual. Muzan had left on a mission a week ago and she was all alone in the infinity castle. Checking the ancient clock she debated weather to summon Muzan back before remembering what he had said, "Don't summon me until the sun is up. So since it was only 5:30 AM she waited till 6:00 to bring him back.

15 minutes later she heard Kokushibou quietly arrive and ask, “where did Muzan-sama go? I need to report back to him my latest findings.”

To this she replied by stating, "Muzan-sama is on a mission. I will summon you back when he has arrived back and has time to hear your report." Kokushibou left almost instantaneously after she had said this. He was uppermoon 1 for a reason. 6:00 soon came and she summoned Muzan back. What she didn't expect to see was him on the brink of collapsing. In his hand there was a broken bottle he reeked of alcohol. Nakime starred in shocked horror. He was in his female form which was strange as he didn't go into that form often. Not being able to stand any longer he fell back onto his knees. The demon king on his knees?! Drenched in liquor? Nakime stood up rigidly and walked over to him and took the bottle in his hands. On the bottle was a small label reading, 'Wisteria Forest'. Her husband used to drink it like no tomorrow.

“Great,” she muttered to herself. Muzan looked to the floor feeling embarrassed that only now had he realized what the label had said. Unsurprisingly he was trembling after all he had just drank something that would’ve killed almost any other demon easily. She guessed he must have consumed
anywhere from 20-35 bottles. Muzan looked to be drunk, but still had a little sense left.
Muzan’s kimono was soaked in alcohol and sweat.

Nakime sighed before saying "You need to go to sleep," that’s what was the best thing for him. He never slept at all, but it was the best idea she had at the moment.

"I can’t, I have so much more work-" He began but Nakime interrupted

"yes you can," putting a blanket over his shoulders.

"I have -much work and -to do, I-I d-don’t h-ve tim-e. Wha-at if dem-mon fin-ds m-ee? L-ik-e yo-ou'v-e alre-eead-ey se-en m-e at me-y we-ake-st, and you co-uld win-n a fi-ight," he was visibly scared but also incredibly drunk.

"No demon could find you here, not even Kokushibou, and why would I want to kill you? We need you to help kill the demon slayer core."

His reaction time wasn't even quick enough to react before she rested her hand on his shoulder. Muzan found it to be sort of comforting. Closing his eyes Muzan leaned back on the wall. When Nakime heard the soft sound of snoring she got up and quietly teleported to an area where she could talk with Daki. Sometimes she summoned Daki when she wasn't on a mission just to chat because the others were either cold or just completely nuts. Daki soon appeared.

“Hello Daki,” Nakime said cautiously. Daki looked around for Muzan-sama and knew something was amiss with the way Nakime talked.

"Where's Muzan-sama?" Daki asked, sort of concerned about the situation.

"I need your help... there's uh something wrong with Muzan sama-" Nakime replied, cut short by Daki who looked like she had just seen a ghost.

"Is h-he okay?" Nakime shrugged. "What happened?"

"He consumed a lot of wisteria,"

"Why would he do that!?"Daki asked, half annoyed, half in shock. There was no response from Nakime though. "What do you need help with?" Daki sighed, calming down only slightly.

"Could you get him some new clothes? he is stuck in his female form right now." Nakime replied feeling terrible to have to make her comrade do the work.

"Of course!" Daki replied looking much more gleefully because of the prospect of choosing what Muzan wore.

"I need to go check up on him. i'll be back shortly," Nakime had said shortly and left without giving Daki a chance to say goodbye. 5-6 hours had passed since she had left him. After all she had to manage the castle, and make sure the demons were in check. When she teleported to the room she found him sleeping peacefully and innocently. After making sure he was okay she quietly left making sure she wouldn't wake him up. She teleported to the area where she and Daki were going to meet up.]Daki was already there making a huge grin when she saw Nakime. Draped over her arms was a beautiful black kimono with white lilies throughout it. Daki thought this was perfect. Giving the clothes to Nakime she asked,

"When can I see Muzan sama?" she asked with a hint of worry in her voice.

"I don't know when he will wake up, but I'll tell you." Nakime gave her a slight smile and left. Soon after she teleported to a still sleeping Muzan. Waiting for him to wake up she sat down next to him, putting her hand on his back. When Muzan woke up around 30 minutes later he felt slightly refreshed. But since he didn't sleep often when he did it lasted longer than he liked.

"How do you feel?" Nakime asked quietly so if any of the moons were in the vicinity they may not hear them. She had turned off the lanterns to make it easier on Muzan’s eyes. He lifted his head and looked at her trying not to make eye contact. Muzan rubbed his eyes warely before speaking

"I feel terrible. My head is killing me,"

she sighed, "You definitely have a hangover," briefly making eye contact before he looked away.

"shit," he thought. He started trying to take out all of the hairpins and accessories he had been wearing but ended up needing Nakime’s help. Muzan’s hair was decently long and his soft black hair fell behind his back. Nakime, not sure how well he was doing with the hangover and everything, asked him some questions she knew he'd not want to answer truthfully.
She sighed, knowing it would be hard to get him to admit it to her, but decided to ask anyway.

"Do you feel nauseated?" He looked down at the ground before muttering,

"A little…,”

"I know you'll hate to admit anything like this but, do you think you're going to throw up?" Nakime asked, making sure she was ready in case he said yes. There was no way Muzan was saying yes to that one. No way he would admit it to her face though.

"No," He said in that guilty way you would expect from a chid. She glared menacingly at him which made him shiver. The great demon king being scared of his underling?!

"I told you I’m-" he was about to say before his body made a jerking movement and his stomach churned. He curled up like a cat.
Nakime gently slid the blanket off of him and grabbed his shoulders, balancing him.

"Stand up, come with me," Nakime said slightly exasperatedly. Muzan steadied himself on her body. But Nakime could feel him slightly trembling. "Don't worry you won't fall, " Nakime said. He replied with a small "Mmm". Eventually she got him to the bathroom and propped him up over the rim of the toilet. He leaned over the rim of the toilet still trembling.

"I'm not going to puke," He said stubbornly. His body jerked and he put his hand over his mouth before swallowing the vomit back down.

"Just let it out. That's the best way to feel better soon," Nakime told him as he put his hair behind his back. uncovering his hand he said

"I need to do wor – ,” he put his hand back over his mouth.

"Come on, it’s okay if you have to puke," he put his hand down.

“That's a good start I guess” Nakime thought tiredly. He parted his lips over the toilet, allowing a gush of a purple liquid to spill out. Tears started to form in Muzan’s eyes. Nakime put one of her hands on his back, rubbing it in soothing circles. “guh— eurgh !”he retched weakly. It felt endless as the puke gushed out of his
mouth. Muzan couldn’t remember how many bottles he had drunk but crushed himself for drinking them. He tried to speak before another wave hit him. When it finally subsided, he wiped his eyes. His mouth tasted terrible. After he didn't throw up for a minute she asked "Do you think you got it all up?" still rubbing his back in small circles. She had always done this former husband.

"I think," spitting weakly into the toilet. At this point, he couldn't even argue.

"Do you feel any better?" knowing he couldn't lie because she could tell.

"A little bit," He admitted grudgingly, finally telling the truth. Nakime put her hand on his head and pulled him in for a hug. He didn't even refuse. It felt nice being hugged for the first time.
