"Tra la la. Please come again." "Thanks."
Beneath the cloak, an unviewable smile formed on Ralsei's face.
There wasn't much that he could do in this world in the way of public service without setting off some serious alarm bells.
After all, he was a goat, and as far as he could tell, the only remaining goats here made up the royal family.
That and he looked like their dead prince. Try explaining that combination to people.
Despite this, he still wanted to show kindness where he could. And he appreciated any kindness he received back.
But now, he was alone again. Just him, his boat, and the hypnotic splashes of water. They were so terribly familiar to him, almost like a certain song...
He didn't exactly make it out of the other world in one piece. He wished he could remember more than he did. Combine that with the many, many years that he's been here, in the underground...
He couldn't remember a lot about his past life.
Sometimes, he questioned his own sanity. He'd ramble off complete nonsense to his passengers, just to try to make them smile.
He'd say something absurd, just to know if the rider was listening to him.
He was so lonely.
Sighing, he carefully, very carefully dropped the hood of his cloak.
With his hat on, at least nobody would notice his resemblance to the prince quite as easily, assuming he got caught like this. But he didn't let that happen.
Laying back on his boat, he stared up at the ceiling of the cavern.
He wished there was somebody he could talk to. Some hope of going back to how things were.
And as much as he knew that the skeleton was in much of the same situation as he was... That man of bone didn't have a clue who Ralsei was.
Then, something changed one day. A human arrived in the underground.
But as the child stepped onto his boat, Ralsei wasn't concerned with them. His attention was on the being beyond them.
Someone he knew very well.
...but they didn't know him, he quickly realized. 'So they were here first?...' Ralsei thought to himself.
He considered questioning the small child. But... they weren't like Kris. He could tell just by looking at them.
They were just a vessel.
Still... if the entity is here, before going to his world, then... Maybe if he's lucky, he can...
"Tra la la. Beware of the man who speaks in hands."
