Work Text:

Yuqi paced back and forth in the living room, excitement bubbling within her. She couldn't contain the mischievous grin that spread across her face as her girlfriend, Soyeon, watched her curiously.

“So, are you going to tell me what’s up? I can practically hear your excitement,” Soyeon commented, sorting through mail.

“Soyeon.. Remember when we were younger and our parents banned us from hanging out? We used to sneak out all the time just to see each other..”

“What about it?” Soyeon chuckled, remembering those times dearly.

“Let’s do it again!” Yuqi insisted, holding onto behind Soyeon’s chair, resting her chin on her shoulder.

Soyeon raised an eyebrow, setting down the mail and running her hand against Yuqi’s cheek. “Yuqi, we’re adults now. I have to finish sorting this and then get to my work emails. And plus, there’s no one banning us from being together anymore.”

Yuqi pouted, leaning into Soyeon. “I know, I know. But can’t we just do it for one night?”

Soyeon hesitated, imagining how much work she’d have tomorrow if she didn’t get it done tonight. But she also couldn’t resist her lover’s pleading face, full of excitement. “Alright, you’ve convinced me.”

Yuqi clapped her hands together happily, twirling to the front of Soyeon’s chair to help her stand up. She couldn’t contain her excitement, and it spread to Soyeon a bit as they hurriedly put on jackets and made their way out of the house.

The night air was cold, so Yuqi held Soyeon’s hand, observing the streets they walked down with a sense of freedom. For once they weren’t in a rush to be somewhere, and didn’t have anywhere to go. They roamed the quiet city, enjoying walking next to each other. After a while, they found themselves in front of a towering building, its silhouette against the dark sky intimidating, but beautiful. The dim glow of security lights twinkled around them.

Soyeon’s brow furrowed as she caught on to her plan. “Yuqi, that building has a heavy security system. If we get caught—”

“We won’t! We’ll be sneaky, like ninjas. I promise, Soyeon, it’ll be worth it,” Yuqi wrapped her arm around Soyeon’s shoulder, giving her cheek a quick peck.

Soyeon sighed, giving in to Yuqi’s infectious mood. “If anything happens to us, I’m blaming you.”

Yuqi looked at her affectionately. “Do you trust me?”

Soyeon rolled her eyes. “If I didn’t I wouldn’t be standing here apparently about to break into this building.”

Yuqi led Soyeon around to the back of the building, deftly unlocking the door with a lock pick. She slipped inside, dragging Soyeon along with her, heart pounding with adrenaline. The two found the stairs to the place, running up floor after floor. The anticipation grew the more guards they dodged and cameras they avoided. Finally, they came across the last floor, with a door that led to the roof.

Yuqi opened the door, following Soyeon out. They sat on their jackets on the rooftop, gazing at the unobstructed view of the entire city beneath them. As well as the city, they also had a view of the bright, twinkling stars above them.

Soyeon leaned into Yuqi’s shoulder as they watched cars below that, from here, looked so small. Her heart had stopped pounding in anticipation, finally relaxing. “Thank you for taking me here.”

Yuqi looked at Soyeon with a mischievous smirk. “I told you we wouldn’t get caught.”

Soyeon rolled her eyes in annoyance. “And here I was, trying to have a sentimental moment with you.”

Yuqi pouted. “Hey! I can be sentimental.”

Soyeon leaned towards her face, eyes on her lips. “No you can’t.. You always have that stupid smirk on your face.”

“You love it, though.”

“No, I don’t, it’s actually annoying.”

“Then take it off,” Yuqi let out a small noise as she finished her sentence, Soyeon’s lips crashing against her own. She pulled her closer, moving her lips softly on Soyeon’s. Yuqi pulled away first, breath heaving. She pulled Soyeon down gently on the roof, laying her down so that they could gaze at the night sky above.

Soyeon sighed, turning her head to place another chaste kiss on Yuqi’s lips. “I love you.”

“I know.” Yuqi smiled smugly, getting a soft punch in the arm from Soyeon. “Okay, okay… I love you too, baby.”
