Work Text:
the leaves dance a swirling waltz
i count my fears, my pains, my faults
once warm heart turns cold and slow
in autumns grasp, the leaves let go.
as cooling winds chill within
the days grow shorter, my love grows thin
yearning for winter's sharp embrace,
all i want is time and space.
for in the cold and silent night
i wonder if i can find a love so bright
love's warmth gradually fades away
the sky is painted in shades of grey
i feel so lost amidst the dying trees
has the world grown deaf to my pleas?
told i've gotten weaker, i feel so small
uncared, discarded, the leaves free-fall
one day, snowflakes will softly land
i'll realise i'm not alone, but hand in hand.
the warmth returns, a welcoming surprise
in the frozen winter, love reawakens,
and it flies.
