Chapter Text
It was a few months before Windblume, one of the best and biggest festivals of Mondstadt. At Windrise, a certain green bard sat. It was almost midnight judging from the placement of the moon on the starty sky.
That one peculiar night Venti has gotten this feeling of nostalgia again. It was rather pleasant for the most part, atleast untill the memories od past events came.
He tried to shake off the thought's of his old friend, that he now took form of.
'Dwelling on the past too much isn't worthwhile. It's not like we can change it can we?'
He reasoned.
At nights like theese he was often found in the tavern, drinking with Kaeya and ocasionally Rosaria. But sometimes one needs time to oneselves to sort their thoughts.
To think.
Not about what was, but about what might be.
.
.
.
And then it struck him.
'Why not do an Archon Reunion at Windblume?'
It was an excellent idea!
Though not everyone would be there ofcourse.
'Old Morax is always down for a meeting..'
· · ·
'Ei is a tricky one, I haven't seen her for over 500 years, but with the vision hunt decree abolished I will be able to reach out to her. And I can always bribe her with sweets!'
· · ·
'Buer, the current Dendro Archon. The Traveler told me that she was imprisoned for the past 500 years.. That poor child, I still don't know how could they just do.. THAT! With that said, I think she'll be happy to explore new places and try new snacks.'
· · ·
'Focalors.. No, Furina. Focalors passed away recently. But Furina.. She has been playing a role for over 500 years, while being but a mere human.. I've Heard that she stepped down a few months ago.. I should invite her too. Afterall she IS and Archon too.'
He smiled to himself.
'Murata, the Pyro Archon.. Not many know what is happening on the nation od pyro, myself included. I'm sure something bad is going down in Natlan.. I'll send her an invitation too anyway.'
· · ·
'The Tsaritsa, The Cryo Archon, The Archon of Love.. She cut us off completly after Khaenri'ah..
She doesn't want to hear about us untill her plan is fullfilled. I'm not telling her.'
· · ·
With that he Has decided.
He is going to celebrate Windblume with old and new friends!?
Isn't that so exciting!?
He stood up, the nostalgic feeling is no more, and with a gust of wind he teleported straight to the Acting Grandmaster's office.
–––
Jean was at her desk, trying to fill the last batch od documents before finally going home and gaining her well deserved rest.
That's why she was quite suprised— no terrified — when Venti appeared in the room with a slight breeze.
"Acting Grandmaster! Would you be so kind, and borrow me some paper please?"
He said to her, as she began to calm down.
"Venti? You scared the shit out of me."
She said and he seemed to just realise how the situation must have looked from her perspective.
"My apologies Jean, my Dandelion Knight, I didn't mean to frighten you."
'He seems a little diffrent today..'
She tensed.
'Did something happen?'
She thought.
"Eh? Ah, no no no. Nothing bad is happening don't worry."
Out loud apparently.
She stared at him for a moment. There was something in his eyes. A mixture of what seemed to be excitement, amusement, worry and... something else she couldn't quite catch.
"Jean? Are you okay?"
He walked up to her as she got back to reality.
"Ah yes. Paper is what you wanted right? Here."
She quickly said while getting a pile of paper from the drawer in her desk.
"Though I'm quite curious,-"
She added.
"-what do you plan to do with that paper?"
Something seemed to light up in the bard's eyes, before he grabbed the paper and said.
"I'm glad you asked my dearest Grandmaster!"
He began,
"Well, I was feeling nostalgic tonight and I had a perfect idea!"
"Oh? And what that might be?"
She asked him genuinely interesed.
'Now what did My Archon do again?'
"Well I decided that it would be perfect to invite my old friends for Windblume! It has been a while since our last Archon meeting."
He said it with so much entusiasm, that Jean was left amused.
'... I just Hope that nothing will blow up..'
"That is a great idea indeed."
She agreed, not quite saying what's on her mind at first.
"But please don't break anything along the way. No offense."
She added quickly.
His lips turned into a biggest grin that Jean ever saw.
"None taken! And don't worry, We'll be on Our best behavior!"
He said with a little bow.
"Thank you for the paper! AND Jean, please go to sleep."
That last sentence suprised her, but she couldn't add anything because the bard was already gone. The only sign of his barging in was a lonely Cecilia head on her desk.
Jean sighed.
"Oh what will I do with with you Venti?"
With that, she packed her things and went home. It was a request from her Archon afterall.
.
.
.
What she didn't know though, was that the bard never left her office after she exited the Headquaters.
Venti felt a little bad that he interrupted the Grandmaster's work, so he decided that she needs a little break.
He materialised in the office once again, after checking if anyone is around. When he confirmed that he was in fact all alone, he started looking through Jean's paperwork.
'A lost cat report, weird mechanism outside The Thousand Winds Temple, stolen vegetables.. Really?'
"Theese are the kind of reports the Grandmaster's getting? Most of them are the kind of commisions that hang on The Adventurers Guild bulletin board."
He thought out loud.
"And some of them are just people's own buisness! Do people really belive that the knights do nothing but resque missing cats?"
Venti was amused.
"We really have to do something about this, or our poor Jean is going to collapse under theese!"
He sighed.
"What do people think the Adventurers Guild is for?"
He thought for a little moment, before getting to work.
.
.
.
With the help of the winds— although he assured them that it wasn't necessary— he was done with Jean's weekly workload in about 2 hours.
Before leaving he decided to write her a note, so she wouldn't be too suprised about what he had done.
"Aaaaand, that sounds about right!"
He declared leaving the note on The Grandmaster's desk.
'Now let's start writing theese Windblume invitations..'
And with a gust of wind, he vanished as if he was never there.
–––
Next Morning Jean was already walking towards the Knights of Favonius Headquaters thinking about what she has to do today.
But when she entered her office, she saw a note sitting on her desk.
'Huh? What's that? I don't recall leaving anything here..'
She thought, walking up to her desk. She grabbed the note and started reading.
· · · · ·
"My dearest Jean,
I felt bad with disturbing your work yesterday night, so I decided to repay you somehow!
Normally a delay in your work would cause you to have to deal with whatever's not done in the morning.
But I dare to say not!
Forgive me, but I've overstayed a little longer last night and dealt with your work a little bit :D.
Ps.
You should really send some of those ridiculous commisions that you get to the Adventurers Guild.
I can understand the mechanism one, but a lost cat and stolen vegetables?
Enjoy your little vacation!
- Venti :)"
· · · · ·
.
.
.
Well that was not what Jean expected.
She read the note a couple of times more, before she started going through her paperwork for this week.
Indeed everything was done..
"Huh, so you really did do everything.."
She said under her breath, trying to process the information she just gained.
"What will I do with so much free time now?"
She felt a light summer breeze.
"Maybe you should go catch up with your sister..?"
"HUH?! WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?!"
Jean tensed looking around for the direction that the sound came from. She found herself spinning in circles around the room.
"Shh.. Don't frighen Dandelion Knight. It's the wind."
"The wind!? What is happening..?"
"..."
With that the breeze vanished, leaving Jean confused in the middle of her office.
.
.
.
"Catch up with Barbara huh..?"
Maybe that's what she will do.
