Summary:
An audio recording of WhoopsOK’s fic “All Riled Up”
There’s an ugly voice in the back of Ghost’s mind, his father’s voice, a reminder of every instance in his life that he’s confessed to wanting something only to have it used against him. He wants something, it’s kept away, he wants something, it’s given just so he can watch it be destroyed.
Soap is not that kind of man, nor is he so easily taken away.
It still takes Ghost a week—three days of wearing a hole in his floor, two days of travel, two more spent wearing a hole in the floor of a nearby motel room for good measure—before he can make himself approach Soap’s doorstep, honesty clogging his throat.
Ghost wants to be dismantled.
