Work Text:
“Soooo, how you going to break it to my brother that you technically made a clone child out of his DNA and your DNA, meaning you have a whole-ass child together. Ya’ know. Just without the sex part,” Bart obnoxiously popped his watermelon bubblegum, swinging his legs off the side of Tim’s work table. Tim, the blessed compartmentalizer he is, ignored Bart in favor of trying to get said clone child to eat half a banana.
“Thiz, please just eat the banana. I’m begging. You need the vitamins and such from it,” Tim’s voice was low, broken and hollow. He held up the banana half to Thisbe. She narrowed her honey golden eyes, and snarled at her father.
“I don’ want a banana!” She wailed, before breaking down in tears. Bart grimaced sympathetically, and patted Tim on the shoulder. Tim once again ignored him, and put the banana down. “Okay, okay! You don't have to eat the banana!” Tim soothed, petting his daughter's hair. Thisbe hiccuped a few times, but stopped crying. Tim sighed in relief then turned to Bart.
“I am not telling Thad I created a child from our shared DNA. I am not doing that to him. I love Thisbe, but she was unintentionally made. He did not sign up for fatherhood.”
“Dude, seriously, just tell Thad you made a baby, he’ll help. Grife, he’ll be thrilled. He’ll probably cry because he loves her so much. Sure, he might be a lil’ mad you didn’t tell him, ya’ know, three months ago when she was created, but he’ll be fine otherwise. Can’t be worse than what he’s done to me,” Bart shrugged his shoulders. Tim groaned and put his face in Thiz’s hair. She squirmed a bit, but let him hold her.
“Thad’s going to m-u-r-d-e-r me.” Bart snorted at Tim’s despair.
“No he won’t dude, he’ll be more interested in keeping you alive for Thiz’s sake! Thiz needs both her parents, after all, ” Bart said, pointedly, snapping his gum once more. Tim huffed. “Kon and Cassie agree with me!” Tim huffed again. “If you don’t stop huffing, I’m going to tell Thad myself.”
Tim did not huff again, but did glare over at Bart. Thisbe squirmed, attempting to get out of her father’s grasp and off the booster seat she was sitting in. Tim let her go, and she scooted off the chair with Bart’s help.
“I wanna go play! Uncle Bart, come play!” She pulled his hand and Bart followed her out of the room, yelling over his shoulder, “Think about it, Tim! Thad will be thrilled!”
Tim put his head on his work table, and banged it gently against the metal. He couldn’t tell Thad! That would be trapping him! Thad hates being trapped and told what to do! Being Thawne’s pawn almost killed him! Sure, the circumstances were different, but it was forcing him to do something that he had no choice in. Tim couldn’t do that to him.
He couldn’t.
Besides, how was he supposed to tell him? “Oh, hey Thad! I know you didn’t know this, but uhhh, I have a major crush on you, and I was experimenting with the cloning chambers in an effort to help Conner understand his DNA better, but I got curious and wanted to see if it was possible for us to have kids, even though you don’t really like me at all, but I accidentally hit the wrong button, and your speedster DNA made the process go super fast and now we have a daughter!! Congrats, it’s a girl!!” Like, Thad would kill him if he said that! Hell, he’d probably kill him just for giving Thisbe his last name, regardless of DNA status! Thad was a nice dude, but he was still super deadly and vicio—
“Hey Tim?” Bart’s voice interrupted Tim’s thoughts. Tim looked up at Bart. The man looked a little sheepish, and was rubbing the back of his neck. “I uh. I lost Thiz.”
Tim’s sight went red. “ You lost my daughter? ” He snarled, and fled the room, desperate for her to be okay.
