When reincarnation takes place you would typically panic for knowing too much all of a sudden or just remain unaware. In Chinese culture your soul ends up reincarnation and this soul remembers his past life memories after having his pinky crushed. He wasn’t in some sort of denial of stealing the body he is in because he didn't. He just has another set of memories from a different life cycle. Besides, at least now he is able to create change to this world.
{years later}
There was a room with two figures in it. The shorter figure had the other trapped against the wall. He leaned his head onto the other shoulder and said “You started all of this so now you have to take responsibility.” There was a hint of insanity in those eyes that seemed to border between gray and red.
This insanity was started by the other who had an upturned lips while looking down at Mo Xuanyu. He leaned his head down so he could kiss the crown of Mo Xuanyu's head. He then said, “I wouldn’t do anything else for my love.”
Xue Yang then shifted so he was holding all of Mo Xyanyu’s body weight and got both of them ready for bed. Xue Yang couldn't wait for the morning when his lover's drunkenness wore off. He always got so possessive and straightforward with his words while he had alcohol to drink.Yet when sober he would shy away and get easily embarrassed but his honesty always remained the same.
Xue Yang fell in love with Mo Xuanyu at first sight and knew he most definitely had a chance from the very beginning. After all, he remembers a story from his past life memories. One that slowly unraveled into this world as time went on. Xue Yang would call himself a good person but then again no one truly was. So he decided to take whatever he wanted. One of those things happens to be candy because of its sweetness but he wanted Mo Xuanyu more than anything because he is the sweetest thing Xue Yang has ever seen or tried.
All he had to do was romanticize his way into his lovers' heart. And it's easier to do when you're already aware of the others cutsleeve status before anyone else does.

In another place in Yilling, there was Wei Wuxian going for errands along with his husband Wei Wangji and their son. Lan Zhan defected from his sect a long time ago in order to remain with his Wei Ying. All of this happened after a boy came to the burial mounds in order to ask the Yilling Patriarch for help with his love life through demonic cultivation.
Wei Wuxian found the thought of demonic cultivation and love advice in one sentence to be hilarious and ridiculously that he ended up letting the kid in just to hear whatever story he had to tell. Then someone along the way Wei Wuxian became a disciple just to help the kid protect himself and then the kids kept pointing out the miscommunication between him and Lan Zhan when Lan Zhan came around.
And now years later after the Wens Sect extinction. Not a single person named Wen exists since the last living ones have all changed their family name to Wei. In honor of their new Sect leader the Yiling Patriarch.

Since Mo Xuanyu and Xue Yang never join the Jin’s and Jin sect never got to learn how to use demonic energy. Instead Jin Guangshan ended up killing himself in the process. And it was blamed on Yelling Patriarch because Mèng Yáo just enjoyed the slander put on his sperm donor. And Mèng Yào just really enjoyed being treated nicely by his half brother and his wife.
Also Mèng Yáo is different because he met Xue Yang as a kid and Mèng Yáo met a little boy that understood him. A little boy that was nice to his mother, a little boy who he came to see as a younger sibling. And as an older sibling it would be better if his sibling remain the Yelling Patriarch disciples.
Also, Lan Xicheng is having his slow-paced romance story with Mèng Yáo.
Also did I mention that Mo Xuanyu is Mèng Yáo's half brother. So the person Mèng Yào sees as his brother is planning to marry one of the people who is his brother.

Also, Niè Míngjué is still alive and has a headache from how often his younger brother Niè Huáisāng sneaks away to Yilling. He wouldn't care if it was just to see his old friend Wei Wuxian but no his younger brother sneaks away to see Wei Ning. The Nie bloodline seemed to be close to ending. At least he still has cousins for that reason.
And then there's his sworn brother who sneaks away from the Lan Sect to see a certain Jin just because he can't confess with his own words.

Then we have Jiāng Chéng with an even slower love life since the person he’s fallen for lives in Yilling as well. I guess it's true that you tend to fall for someone that reminds you of your own parents. After all, Wèi Qíng has a fearful fire type of aura just like the late madam Yu had. Maybe Jiāng men liked to be dominated by strong women. Like father, like son who would have thought
