"It's you! The Gothic boy! Did you like the flowers? Thanks for buying them!" He rambled happily, Akutagawa went poker-faced. Gothic boy? Is that how people see him?

Work Text:

Akutagawa was bored.

Yeah, he was bored. Well, he's laying his head on the desk, tapping on his own pen mindlessly ignoring the audible talk of his other classmates in class. He doesn't bother to try to make a conversation with them, they always thought he was cool for being quiet and having an incredible bike as well. His grades were fine as he used to be tutored by Dazai himself back then, he still got the ability to ace his tests anyway.

The teacher was explaining and Akutagawa just wrote down stuff whatever was placed on the bored, though, he wasn't that bored as he had his own group of friends. Tachihara, Higuchi, Gin, Chuuya, and a few others from different class. He supposed his life was great. After class ended it was already 4:30PM in the afternoon, his friends had invited him to go outings on the new Café around the city. Unfortunately, he had been busy with school works and was buried 6ft underground with them. He was supposed to complete a simple presentation within a few months, he'll manage without help.

While researching on a project for this forsaken and somehow hard research with stuff not popping up what he wanted on the internet, Akutagawa might have already gave up but he needs to prove that he'll get a higher score than anyone. Which led him to being called by his own beloved sister.

"Hey, you sure you don't wanna come with us?" Gin pops her head out on Akutagawas door with a frowning expression. Akutagawa spins his chair around from the desk and sighs.

"I told you, Gin. I'm busy, maybe another time?" He responds reluctantly, he'd love to go out, he's just busy with being buried with stress of homework he needed to past.

She sighs before giving him a smile, "all right. If you say so. Call me when you need something. Tea is on the dining table if you want to drink." Akutagawa didn't even know himself how he got such a caring younger sister, despite being the older one, he can't even manage to take care of himself without being reminded.

"Thanks, Gin." And with that, she was out of the apartment, a sound of click the door made indicated she left.

Akutagawa was now left alone in a silent and eerie his room gives, left with a stack of books patiently looking at him to start working.

It's been more than two hours, he needed to stretch his back and Akutagawa winced from hearing it. Somehow, he probably sat like a shrimp which icked him. Perhaps he needed to take a walk around with his motorcycle, maybe? Which he did, saving the presentation and essays on his charging laptop, closing it and grabbing the spare keys left on the counter. He hasn't drank the tea yet, Gin might kill him later. Oh well, if he gets back before her, he'll just reheat it in the microwave.

Akutagawa recklessly puts the protection helmet on and climbs on his beloved black bike, starting the engine as he leaves the apartment. Letting the roars of the bike come alive.

Now, he hopes he wouldn't run to either of his friends. He literally just rejected their offer of hanging out, but he'll just use the excuse of walking around for a break for fresh air. Akutagawa stopped on a nearby parking whatever he was placed at, removing the helmet and putting it back at the back of the seat placing it hidden and protected. His raven hair with white tips blew aimlessly due to wind. The sky was a mix of a pink and blue hue and clouds littered decorating it. He coughed a little bit on his gloved hand before walking back on the streets.

He was met with signs of restaurants, shops, and a few people promoting their shops. Though, there was one he didn't even understand himself. He mindlessly grabbed a promotion paper of a new flower shop opened just months ago, compared to other papers, this seemed a bit calming. The sound of the back of his head was encouraging him to visit this flower shop. Akutagawa impulsively tries to locate this location.

There, he stood in front of a cute flower shop. The outside greeted him with multiple colorful and benevolent flowers, he can spot a few vines, roses, tulips, and other blooming flowers he couldn't recognize. Akutagawa was dumbfounded. His feet led him here because it was, what? Calming, soothing, and colorful? Tachihara would've laughed at him for coming here as he doesn't look like the guy to be buying flowers. He sighed, he would've felt bad for just accepting the paper without coming. Bracing himself, he opened the door, a bell alarming someone has visited.

"One second!" A calming voice called out, probably from the back of the shop. They were either tending to flowers or making a new flower to grow.

"Hi! Welcome! Do you need anything?" A silver haired figure came out of the shadows. Revealing a cute boy, with uneven haircut. Akutagawa just stares, not knowing how to start himself. He didn't even know what he wanted. He hit himself mentally for this. Aside from the vibrant and vivid flowers, his style didn't fit here, he was dark as the darkness without light compared to shining ones which are flowers.

"No thanks.. uhm, I'll just browse around." He replied, a bit cold without intended of malice, making the florist surprised.

"Oh- all right. Feel free to look around! I'm sure you'll find something you desire." He says, giving him a sweet smile. Akutagawa had noticed those eyes. A mix of purple and yellow, creating a sunset combination. A combination that'll look, you can forever stare and drown in. The florist seemed to be positive and expressive compared to his negative and cold behavior.

After a bit of inspecting and roaming around, he'll suppose he'll get flowers for Gin, totally. Flowers definitely needed in their apartment. Gin would love it when she sees it. There was one flower that stood out in his eyes, it was gorgeous and vibrant. When Akutagawa was staring blankly at the Pink flower, the florist perked up from behind him.

"That's a pink hyacinth! It represents playful joy, it's a good flower for birthdays, graduations, or anything special on occasions. There are other colors too if you're interested!" The boy smiles just as bright as the sun, warmth. Akutagawa makes eye contact with him, causing him to look away instantly, a warm sensation on his cheeks faintly. A pink hyacinth, huh? He supposed he'll buy it.

"I'll get this," He speaks, "how much?" Akutagawa asked, grabbing the blossom pot to hand it over to the somehow very cute florist.

"1,320¥." He responds, getting the amount of yen the ravenette gave.

"Here it is! Please treat it with care!" The silver haired male grins happily this time compared to greeting costumers with usual smile. Eventually, he hands the flower to him.

"Please come again!" Surely, he will. Next time.

After leaving the flower shop, he nods to the sweet angelic florist and makes his way to where his bike was parked. Akutagawa somehow felt the warm tingling feeling in his face again from earlier, he'll come back next time he noted.

"WOAH! Ryuuno, since when did you buy a flower?" His sister cooed to the sight of a hyacinth placed on the coffee table.

Akutagawa laid flat on the bed, raising up slowly to look at the vivid flower adorning the table.

"I.. brought it earlier." He sighed, looking at Gin's smile brighten the room up, he did the right choice to buy a flower. Gin then squealed, she liked flowers he figured.

"It's really pretty! And taken care of really well! I should move it to the balcony though for some light for it." Gin grabbed it and ignored Akutagawa's embarrassed expression. Right, it was not artifical. It was a living plant, he forgot.

Akutagawa just grumbled, watching Gin at the peripheral of his vision placing it on top of some stuff, watering it a little bit before closing the glass doors.

"How was hanging out?" He queried the girl, his eyelids drooping.

"It was okay! Higuchi-chan and I-" Now they started rambling about her day which he didn't mind. He liked hearing their day cause it made Gin happily talkative.

"OH! Did you drink the tea I made?" She asked.

Oh.

The next day came, how fast days were. Students were roaming the hallways making it crowded to go to their destined class, hearing others say 'excuse me!' And stuff. Thankfully, he already finished most of his work so he can just rest and bed rot the whole week.

He didn't see most of his loud friend group today making him assume they were busy today to loaded works. Akutagawa didn't feel like going back to the dorms and went outside the campus grounds to take a breather. His eyes looked heavenward and his hands were directed to his black jacket. His day was going fine before someone bumping into him, the actions before that collide seemed someone was in a rush.

"Oh no! I'm sorry! Very very sorry!" A panicked voice filled his ears, thankfully he saved himself from not falling down.

His expression turnt into a dirty look and suddenly recognized the boy. The same florist. How embarrassing their meet again was.

The florists sparkled with lit up with joy when he recognized Akutagawa as well.

"It's you! The Gothic boy! Did you like the flowers? Thanks for buying them!" He rambled happily, Akutagawa went poker-faced. Gothic boy? Is that how people see him?

"No..no problem. My sister really liked them." Akutagawa remarked his sisters expression when they saw the adorned flower.

"Really? I'm glad she liked it!" His eyes gleamed with happiness, the sun warmth his features, his silver haired brought warmth by the sun for some reason he cannot describe.

"I'm Atsushi Nakajima! Please, call me Atsushi instead." Great, he got his name. It would've been terrible if they kept seeing eachother if they didn't caught both names of each other and Nakajima here seemed wanting to be friends with him.

Whatever reason, their tones felt like they've known eachother for some time now considering how the duo felt comfortable with eachother.

He blinked before responding his name which Nakajima eagerly wanted to introduce. "Akutagawa.." He paused, "Ryuunosuke." Atsushi then smiles slightly.

"It's great meeting you, Akutagawa-kun! I have to go though, I'll see you around. Please visit the shop if you have time!" Atsushi encourages, walking speedily past him. Somehow Akutagawa hated social interactions, he can only deal with his friend group but for others, he'll just ignore them. What the hell? Akutagawa reddened at his numerous questions and thinking in his head. Nakajima was heavenly, now Akutagawa got even more redder at the thought.

"Sorry you had to wait there for a few minutes! I had to help a customer." Atsushi bewailed, since his hands are now free from tending other customer needs he can freely speak with Akutagawa now.

"It's okay, really." Akutagawa mentioned, reassuringly. His eyes locked with Atsushi again. He can never stop admiring his two colored eyes, for some reason it looked like a tigers eyes.

"I really like it when you stop by honestly. It's nice to sit and talk to someone calmly." Atsushi brings it up, sitting next to him with his elbow on his knee and his hand supporting his chin, making his figure cute.

Akutagawa just stares blankly at him before mindlessly nodding.

"Ah.. well. I just realized I like flowers now. Uhm, which school do you go?"

"Hmm.. I dropped out to help tend for my little sister for cash for our needs. I have a talent to take care of flowers despite them not being like us, you-know? In the end, they're living beings like us. They can wither out and die if not taken care of well." Atsushi frowns, looking up to him.

"Despite us meeting just two days ago, I really feel comfortable around you than anyone else." He eventually smiled warmly, his frown gone and replaced by his usual positive one.

Oh. He can feel his heart being trapped now, he looked away and smiling into his hand.

Since then, they've been meeting up after Akutagawa's classes to stop by Atsushi's flower shop. At some point they both ride together around city in Akutagawa's bike, that somehow attracted people in his campus for some odd reason. Perhaps they're just envious. They got to know eachother fairly enough to share eachothers information.

Akutagawa was just waiting for Atsushi to close the shop for today's evening. He brought a book to read to accompany Atsushi while he was tending flowers.

"Okay! I'm done!" The florist announced, peeking over Akutagawas shoulder, making his sided bangs meet Atsushi's long strand enough.

"Eh..? Why are you reading a book about flowers?" Atsushi stares at the written words, quietly offended when there's a florist standing.

The ravenette blinks before looking up, meeting Atsushi's gaze.

"Yeah." Akutagawa answers before returning to be absorbed to the book, leaving Atsushi scoffing.

"A-Anyway, the stores closed. Should we go?" Atsushi cheerily spoke.

Akutagawa nods, closing his book and putting it back before Atsushi snatched it,

"What do you think you're doing?" Akutagawa scrunched his face up, eyeing Atsushi.

"Reading this book when you can just ask me." He frowns, looking at the book before following Akutagawa, unbothered and shrugging. He climbed onto his bike, starting the engine and taking it off the stand.

"Wait, don't hop on yet." He reminded, starting the bike first before gesturing for Atsushi to hop on his back. Atsushi nods, putting the book away and hopping back. His arms immediately went to his slim waist. He never bothered to acknowledge it, but it fit just right. Hopefully it wasn't weird to think about it.

"Chazuke..." Atsushi then devours them all while Akutagawa just watches him amused.

"Slow down, you're gonna choke on it." Akutagawa says, parting his chopsticks to elegantly eating the rice.

"Sorry!" He apologizes before consuming the tea after. Atsushi then looks to observe the cute little restaurant. It was a warm atmosphere and really peaceful. Not a lot of sounds were in the making except for people walking and serving.

Atsushi shyly smiles at him, a tinted pink adorned his cheeks before coughing to interrupt the silent.

"Thanks for..uhm. Bringing us here." Despite the fact they always go out for dinner whenever Atsushi was done with the shop.

"I didn't think you notice, but here! A flower. It's an Iris, it represents faith, courage, hope, and wisdom." Atsushi then gently shoves the flower tied in strings carefully to him.

Akutagawa's face suddenly reddened in either flusteredness or embarrassment. Though, he accepted it quickly.

"Thanks.." He murmurs a shy thanks under his breath. No way. Akutagawa felt his face burning before Atsushi smiles at his expression.

"Haha, you look flustered. I didn't think that would've broke you or anything." He teased after breaking Akutagawa's cold demeanor.

Akutagawa scoffs at his remark, "Shut up before I ran over your flowers with my bike." Making Atsushi take it back with protests, leaving Akutagawa smiling slightly.

"Soo, how's your partner?" Tachihara butted in and hanging an arm loosely on Akutagawa's shoulder.

"MY what?" Akutagawa raised an eyebrow, curious of what partner? He wasn't close to anybody.

"I saw that florist you always meet! He's always waiting for you outside the campus, stupid." His classmate remarked, and Akutagawa remembers.

"OH. Him? Yeah, I don't see that as one of your concerns.." Akutagawa averted his eyes.

"Awe! Come on! I wanna know who he is to you." Tachihara whined and clinging to his arm. Almost making Akutagawa to kick him the knee.

"Okay." He left the conversation as that. Why are people so curious to their relationship? Nobody even knew Atsushi inside of the campus. Only a few others have seen him. Well. To be speaking he only hangs out with friends that gave him a bit of closure and was okay with him. Then his mind suddenly clicked when he was away from his best friend. He needed to buy a few seeds for Atsushi. Akutagawa sorta wanted to grow flowers with him as a memory of their friendship, he noted mentally.

After class, telling Gin again that he'll be back late in the evening, she agreed and didn't ask any more questions. She was already aware and just gave him a smirk, making Akutagawa dead flat.

Akutagawa eventually picked Sunflower seeds to grow. He researched a while ago and they say it was easy to grow, though, Atsushi can just do it since he was more knowledgeable to plants.

"You wanna plant flowers? I never thought you'd ask!" Atsushis eyes gleamed of happiness, happy to finally hear what he wanted for months.

Akutagawa frowns, "You could've asked." Atsushi smiling cockily as he brings the seeds outside of the shop.

"Well, I want you to ask first." He grins. "Here, I think this spot can give the sunflowers the sun it needs, since they need it. They always face the sun. And then.. I think the soil is okay." Akutagawa just watches Atsushi admirably taking care of the flowers. It does look easy, but he knows if he did it himself, he'll give up.

After successfully planting the seed on the soil, Atsushi just made Akutagawa assist on what to do mostly.

"Yay! We successfully did it! If we taken care and water it regularly, it should grow in 3 months or more." Atsushi happily spoke, expressive on their success.

"Mhm, yeah." Akutagawa agreed, smiling on the back of his hand watching Atsushi.

On the span of months, they've been getting along well. After all, they've fit well for eachother for reasons. Sometimes, he picks up Atsushi to go for dinner or invited him to his apartment while Gin was gone or she was here. She didn't mind, but she always raises and giggles when they see Atsushi coming.

Their sunflower they grew together was taken well, it was a florist job after all. It reminded them memories they were doing while tending for it, which made the silver haired happy for it as well. During those two months now, they've been hanging out regularly or daily either to the park, visiting malls, and just hanging out on the flower shop.

"It's almost one hundred days, and it's almost grown!" Atsushi remarked, seeing the small seed turned into something blooming and colorful. They've taken care of it for almost three months now which made it quick to grow with tend and carefulness.

"Yeah, I'm glad." The ravenette comments, holding his book close to his chest while sitting down on one of the chairs outside the backyard. His face flushed admiring Atsushi for his hard work. When he had explained to Gin what he felt, she just giggled for his obliviousness to say he just fallen for a certain cute florist. Akutagawa denied it at first, but whenever everytime he looks at Atsushi he couldn't help to be dazzling. He really fell in love with him. He fell in love with his bubbly and hardworking personality. He couldn't even describe.

And Atsushi fell harder.

Atsushi had one of his bangs clipped back because it annoyed him, he had to say he really looked even more adorable with it, making Atsushi flustered and in denial.

Akutagawa supposed he can wait to confess soon to him once he hits one hundred days. He slightly formed a smile, bringing the book to hide half of his flustered face at the thought.

"Ugh, it's getting sunny and hot these days." The Florist, annoyed wiping down the sweat forming in his temple and making him glad he wore a clip to begin with.

"How can you not sweat under those layers of clothing?!" He shrieked. Akutagawa always wears jackets despite the weather.

"I always wear them."

"But- It's hot!"

"So?"

"Whatever.." Atsushi scoffed, grabbing the water sprinkler to water the sunflower to give the hydrated it needs.

Akutagawa just gave him a gentle smile which made Atsushi flushed again, seeing the rare smile Akutagawa gave him reserved for him. He turned away instantly.

Thankfully, it was the weekend. He can visit Atsushi whenever. He parked his bike and paying it and leaving it there to go to Atsushi's apartment. Knocking audibly enough, a click of the door opened. Revealing a short girl with dark blue hair staring at him, almost deadly and cold.

"Hm. You're his boyfriend he speaks about?" Akutagawa wanted to deny before the girl interrupted him.

"Atsuu! Your boyfriends here!" She shouted for Atsushi. The ravenette can hear footsteps before the silver haired was seen with a pink face faintly as he thanked her, kissing her forehead quickly before closing the door.

"Ah, sorry. That was my sister, Kyouka. Let's go to the flower shop backyard to see how out sunflower is going." He chuckles embarrassed, interlocking their hands together without complaints. Not that Akutagawa was bothered, it slightly made him happy internally.

The small shop was in to view, Atsushi grabbing the keys to unlock the door, pushing the glass door open making Akutagawa come in first because Atsushi held the door for him.

Outside greeted them with calm air and blowing wind, the sun's warmth was in their face as they shielded their eyes away before Atsushi breaks their interlocked fingers and making way to the in growth sunflower.

"Yay! It grew so much before!" Atsushis eyes eventually glamorous and twinkling when the sight of the flower bloomed successfully in a hundred days.

Akutagawa grabbed the camera out of his bag before snapping a picture of a happy Atsushi over a flower they grew together. It was a cute and colorful moment he had to take.

"Cutie." Akutagawa murmurs, Atsushi snapped his head towards the standing figure with a camera plastered and held in his hands. Akutagawa looks at him, smirking.

"Sorry. I hope you didn't mind, I just thought you were cute and adorable for just staring at our successful flower." Akutagawa began and a slowly reddened face faintly sneaks in, covering his face with a camera.

Atsushi just smiled, leaning closer to him, enough for their foreheads to touch.

"Haha. You're always flustered when I do stuff like that! It's funny, really," Atsushi smiles, "I love you." He whispers under his breath.

Akutagawa's breath hitched, staring at him. His mind short circuit.

"Huh? What?" Akutagawa stammered making Atsushi giggle. The ravenette scowled. He couldn't believe Atsushi confessed first! Did they have the same idea? Or he's just overthinking this.. though, his feelings were reciprocated, and it was okay. It made him tingly and snorted.

"I.. love you," He paused, "too." He hides his face more into the camera, embraced for Atsushis words and teasing. He wasn't used to expressing words forwardly.

The florist didn't say anything. Yet he was shy as well. Hearing those words come out of the bikers mouth made him flushed, his cheeks mixing a pink hue.

"I'm so glad!" The florists eyes sparkled in joy, and embracing Akutagawa in eumoirous.

Before Akutagawa can process anything, Atsushi slips a few flower in his ear. Enough to make Akutagawa flustered again.

"Mhm, peony and tulips fit you well." Atsushi beams, smiling wider and a pink shade accompanied his cheeks.

"You're.. annoying," Akutagawa sighed. Grabbing the florists cheeks by his hands making the male shy again.

"Just shut up and kiss me, Atsushi." Atsushi perked up from hearing Akutagawa using his given name instead of insulting ones.

"Are you sure you-" Atsushi panicked for consent before their lips met, Akutagawa sliding his hand in his silver warmth hair. The florist just sighed in between before parting away.

Atsushi just giggled, embracing the biker one instantly and Akutagawa just smiles genuinely before grabbing the younger ones hand and kissing his knuckles.

"Stop giggling before I use my bike to crush all your flowers."

"You're not serious, are you?" Akutagawa lets go of the florist before running back to the shop,

"Wait! Don't start your bike, Ryuuno!" Atsushi panicked, running after him. They loved eachother. How flowers bring them together by destiny.
