Headstrong

Summary:

A new omega gets thrown into Price’s pack— what could possibly go wrong?

Chapter 1

Summary:

Before you read this!! I have briefly played MWIII and black ops, so most of my knowledge of TF141 comes from fanfics lmao. Sorry, just wanted to write this because it’s been on my mind lately

Reader has a designated codename that I will be using despite him not being a soldier, but there is use of Y/N later on

I’m not even going to ATTEMPT writing out Soap’s accent, my dyslexia said 👎

Notes:

I’m getting back into writing, so sorry if the first few chapters are bad. I hate introductions so bad but I’d rather drag their meeting out instead of launching it

Chapter Text

You were nervous, constantly looking out the window of the helicopter, wondering where you were landing. The location was classified, and you got very little information about the people you were meeting— your new pack that you only knew the codenames of. To be fair, they didn’t know much about you either.

But still, you didn’t want one. Not after the first. You didn’t have much of a choice, though, due to being in an omega institution that groomed omegas to be the perfect mate for an alpha— or in this case, alphas. You were fortunate enough to get escorted by Kate Laswell this time, a beta who knew just about everything about you.

”Don’t worry, Buck, they’ll love you.” She smiled from beside you, her voice rather loud coming through the headphones on your head. All you could do was nod, not trusting your voice at the moment. Not only did you not want to be in a pack due to some incidents in your last one, Kate had also warned you that there was one alpha that seemed impossible to get through. But she said you could do it— you can… can’t you? Any good omega could. You got through to your last alpha, at least at first, so this one shouldn’t be a problem.

Before you knew it, you were landing on the tarmac of a new base you’ve never seen before. It was surrounded by thick walls and barbed wire, covered in thick trees on the outside. The place wasn’t on any map, at least that’s what Kate said. It was safe, you tried to convince yourself.

It took you a few moments to gather yourself as you stepped out of the heli, your boot-covered feet touching the concrete. As you looked up at the sky, you noticed it was going to rain soon. Such gloomy weather on a day you were supposed to be happy; but you weren’t. You didn’t want any of this. And by the looks on some of the men’s faces in front of you, they didn’t either.

Kate stepped out after you, reaching her hand out to an alpha with a mustache and a boonie hat sitting atop his head. He seemed rather kind as he shook Kate’s hand, moving on to shake yours. You knew he saw how nervous you were, not making any sudden movements and giving you a small but weary smile; going far as to not make his scent so— in your face.

”I’m captain John Price, it’s nice to meet you.” You hesitated before sticking your hand out, shaking his as well. You could tell you didn’t quite meet their expectations. They were expecting a female omega, no doubt. One with fewer piercings, one who was more feminine, one that wasn’t hiding his face.

”Buck.” You mumbled, causing a man with a mohawk to raise an eyebrow. “That your real name?” You looked at Kate to see if it was safe to tell them your real name, but you decided not to in the end. “No, it’s not.” The alpha was expecting to hear your real name after, but got nothing. Eventually, he shrugged and held out his hand next. “I’m Soap, or Johnny.”

You noted this alpha’s scent was softer, more like a beta’s. It put you more at ease, reminding you of Kate’s scent in some way; both having the smell you could only describe as when you step outside after it had rained. “I’m Gaz.” The alpha from beside him quickly shook your hand next, a rather excited smile on his face.

Then you came to the last one. He wore a full mask with a skull on it, not like your blank colored half-mask. His scent wasn’t so soft, or welcoming. If anything, it seemed like he put out more of it to ward you away. Your nostrils burned as you took a step further, the smell of burnt gunpowder filling your senses and almost making your eyes water.

You knew better not to get any closer to him. This was the alpha Kate warned you about. You were afraid to extend your hand, already picturing the man snapping your arm in two if you got even a centimeter closer to him.

”And that’s Ghost.” Price quickly introduced the taller man, since he didn’t look like he was going to speak anytime soon. It was hard to see his eyes, but you were sure he was glaring at you. “Come on, let’s go get you settled in.” Price gave you a small smile and grabbed your bags from Kate, giving her a quick goodbye before the five of you were off to the barracks.

It had a similar layout as the old base you stayed at, the only thing being different is that this team had their own little section to themselves— which you found odd, but you didn’t question it. If anything, it made you less scared that recruits wouldn’t be lurking around your door like they were at the old base.

”This will be your room. If you need anything, I’m across the hallway from you, and Soap is next to you. Your collar is on your bed, so I would appreciate it if you would put it on.” Price opened the door to your new bedroom, a little bit smaller then what you were expecting.

You didn’t like wearing collars, but you knew it was for safety reasons until they can mark you— if they even would. So you didn’t bother complaining as you walked up to the bed, grasping the leather in your hand while the alphas left your bags by the door. It had a metal plate that had TF141 engraved in it, four scents rubbed into the front of the collar that would have to be rescented every week.

Once you clasped the leather around your neck, Price smiled again. “We usually eat dinner around six in the rec room, so one of us will come get you when it’s time. If you need anything beforehand, you know where we are.” You briefly nodded, watching as the alphas departed from the threshold of your new room; closing the door behind them.

Taking a look around, you started looking for a place to build your nest. You didn’t feel comfortable right now having it in the open, so you stuck with the small closet. Stuffing blankets in there, pillows, the small deer Kate gave you as a joke, anything you could find until you were satisfied. You didn’t dare ask any of them for any scented items; it was too early for that, and you were perfectly fine surrounded by your own scent— well, despite the brief smell of them on the collar clasped around your neck.

You debated calling Kate as you stared up at the ceiling, wanting to make sure she landed okay (is what you told yourself, but really you were going to bug the shit out of her for sending you here), but you didn’t. Instead, you spent the afternoon locked up in the closet, the door closed.

You didn’t want this to go bad. You didn’t want to be sent back. But you didn’t want to be in a pack in the first place, especially not with Ghost. He looked like he would kill you if you looked at him wrong, and you didn’t even speak to him. Why did it have to be you out of all the omegas in the institution to get sent here?
