Chapter Text
The day Lewis presented was the worst and best day of his life. It felt as though his past and present meant nothing to the world and all that mattered was his future as an omega.
Lewis loved the attention. Always had and always will. But that wasn’t the kind of attention he wanted. He loved the look that people gave him when he got first in a race. The pitiful look the kids at the race track gave him as his dad walked him to the car to take him home, wasn’t it. He didn’t understand why they were looking at him like that in the first place. It wasn’t like anything was gonna change. All this meant was that he was able to have babies. Right.
He would still hang out with Nico. He would race better than anyone there. He just had to work a bit harder. Right. He would make it to f1 become the world’s greatest f1 driver. Right. He would get to prove them all wrong and the world was going to know his name. Right
Wrong.
He was wrong.
Totally wrong.
Oh so wrong.
The weekend after his presentation, Lewis was about to leave the house to go to the race track like normal when he was stopped by his mother.
“Where are you going “ asked his mother. With a smile on her face that could put anyone at ease.
“The race track” Lewis replied with a confused look on his face.”It’s Saturday”
The smile on his mother’s face dropped instantly. She put her hands on his shoulders and with a voice of absolute sorrow said.
“I’m sorry Lewis, but you can’t race anymore” She spoke silently.
And just like that Lewis’s entire world crashed and burned before his eyes.
With tears threatening to fall he asked “ Why not?”
“ Omegas aren’t allowed to race. It’s too dangerous for them. For you. I’m s-“
That’s all Lewis heard before he ran upstairs with tears streaming down his face.
That news shattered Lewis beyond repair. Racing was his dream, his life. It was crumbling right in front of him and there was nothing he could do about it. The track that once felt like home now seemed like a distant and unattainable mirage.
Hours passed which only felt like seconds until something clicked inside Lewis. He realised he was tired of watching others live the life he wanted. At that moment Lewis made a promise to himself that no matter the world would know his name. Not for the sake of fame itself but to prove that he wasn’t gonna let being an omega stop him.
