Turloughs life on the Tardis had been quite a roller coaster so far. A psychological, violent, fun rollercoaster.
But recently something had changed. Ever since they left gallifrey after defeating president borusa, the doctor and Tegan started spending more time together, turlough knew they were friends and all but he this was the longest he’d seen the doctor and Tegan spend time with each other without bickering with one another. He didn’t get it but if this would get Tegan to not bicker at him then splendid.
Turlough was sat at the table in one of the many Tardis kitchens that he liked, this one was his favourite because it was colourful and had everything he needed. He took a sip of his cup of tea and took a bite of his toast. the kitchen door opened and in walked Tegan.
Her hair was unkempt and her jeans and t shirt were dishevelled, like they had been ripped off.
“Good morning, Tegan”. He said trying to sound polite.
“Good morning turlough”. Tegan said gleefully.
Turlough noticed this and suspicions immediately arose. He had never seen Tegan this chipper
She opened the cabinet and started preparing a cup of coffee. She was giggling and humming all cutely.
Turlough watched her the whole time, just wondering what was making her act all joyful. she was dancing right there on the spot without a care in the world. Something was clearly making her smile but what was sit.
Tegan finished making her coffee and leaned against the counter taking a sip of it.
“Are you ok?”. He asked.
Tegan looked up from sipping her coffee and looked at turlough. She let out a nice smile.
“Yeah I’m fine, why?”.
“I don’t know, you’re acting different today”.
“Different how?”. She said losing her smile.
“You’re happy”. He said nonchalantly.
Tegan then put on her annoyed face. there’s the Tegan he knows. “Wow turlough, so I can’t just smile can I. Can I not just wake up on the right side of the bloody bed. Can I not feel happy without it being weird.”.
“Well- I- I “.
“Screw you”. Tegan picks up her coffee and storms out of the kitchen.
“Wait- Tegan- Tegan, damn it”. Turlough signed annoyed with himself for opening his mouth.
He quickly took a bite of his toast and leaned back in his chair. “She’ll get over it”. He said trying to make himself feel better.
The door then opened again and turlough quickly sighed, readying himself for the earful he was about to get from Tegan. But he got a surprise when it turned out to be none other than the Doctor.
“Good morning Turlough, how are things”. The doctor said in a relaxed tone.
“Well, they could be”. He looked up and got a proper look at the doctor and what he saw was indeed eye catching... “Doctor what on earth are you wearing”.
The doctor was wearing a pink dressing gown that was obviously too small for him. It fully exposed the doctor’s hairless chest. He swears he had seen Tegan wear that dressing gown before. The gown was tied as tightly as it could, but it looked like it was on the verge of popping open. The doctor leaned against the counter in front of turlough.
“Oh…. Tegan let me borrow one of her dressing gowns”. He said as awkwardness crept into his voice.
“Why?”. Turlough said shocked.
“Well……”.
Turloughs eyes widened in realisation. “No, no he can’t be, they didn’t, that’s disgusting”. he thought to himself.
The events of this morning were starting to make sense now.
Turlough inhaled into his nose and put his hands together in front of his face to look straight at the doctor.
“Doctor, did you sleep with Tegan”. He said in near disgust.
“Well…. If you want to talk in technical terms- “.
“It was a yes or no question doctor”. Turlough interrupted.
“……Yes, yes I did”.
“Oh my god”. He said disgusted.
“Why, What’s wrong?”. The doctor said confused.
“Nothing, it’s just, why Tegan of all people”. Turlough said generally curious.
The Doctor raised an eyebrow at Turlough's question. "Why Tegan? What do you mean by that?"
Turlough sighed, trying to find the right words. "It's just... I mean, you and Tegan have always had a sort of, well, contentious relationship. It just seems unexpected, that's all."
The Doctor chuckled, a warm sound that seemed to put Turlough at ease despite his initial shock. "Ah, Turlough, you should know better than anyone that relationships on the TARDIS are never straightforward. Tegan and I, we've had our differences, but there's always been a connection there, a respect, and, well, sometimes these things just happen."
Turlough frowned, still grappling with the idea. "But... I just don't understand. How did this happen? When did this happen?"
The Doctor smiled, looking almost nostalgic. "After the events on Gallifrey, I think we both needed some comfort, some normalcy. It brought us closer. We started talking more, really talking, and one thing led to another.".
Turlough leaned back in his chair, staring at his half-eaten toast. "I suppose that makes sense, in a way."
The Doctor nodded, then straightened up, adjusting the pink dressing gown. "Indeed. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I should go find Tegan and make sure she's alright."
As the Doctor left the kitchen, Turlough took another sip of his tea, and sighed again, finishing his toast and got up from the table and walked out of the kitchen. "Live and let live I guess" he muttered to himself, determined to get on with the rest of his day.
One day Turlough was lying down in his room reading his new favourite book, that’s when he heard some loud noises.
“Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh My God, Yes-Yes”.
“Is that Tegan’s voice, oh my god their doing it again”. Turlough said to himself.
How could he hear them, his room Was quite far from both the Doctor and Tegan’s rooms. He was put off his book completely now. He grabbed his pillow and put it tightly over his face and hoped it would block out the noise.
Turlough walked into the console room, it was tranquil and vibrant. it was the perfect place to get away from the noises. He stood in front of the console and ran some diagnostics and took notes of some coordinates the Tardis was currently giving him. He soon completely forgot about the doctor and Tegan as he got lost in the technical details of the Tardis system.
“Ahhhh, AHHHH!”
“Harder, Harder, Harder, AHHHH- AHHH”
As he was just starting to relax, he heard it again. It was coming form one of the adjacent rooms, and this time it seemed louder somehow.
A mixture of embarrassment and irritation flushed turloughs face. “Can’t they do that when I’m not around, for god sakes”. He muttered under his breath.
Desperate to get away for some peace and quiet, he decided to go to the Tardis Garden. It was a luscious, peaceful and fetching place. It was filled with gorgeous plants and somehow…. fresh air. But most importantly, a big bubbly water fountain, trickling out of it was the clearest sky-blue water he had ever seen. The sound of the pouring water calmed Turlough down as he sat down on one of the stone benches. He sighed and hoped this will last as long as it could. because those noises were just ridiculous at this point.
Turlough lied down on the bench and shut his eyes, wanting to take in the peace of the garden.
“Ahhhh, Ahhhhh, Ahhhhh”
“Yaaaa, Yaaaaaa”
Turlough's eyes snapped open, and he looked around in disbelief. "Is there no escape?" he muttered, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
How can he hear them, how is this even possible. He’s in a whole different part of the Tardis and he can still hear them, what the hell.
Turlough’s patience eventually worn thin. He stormed out of the garden.
He looked as far and wide as he could, he found the library, the pool, a mountain range and spa. But he could still hear their sex noises. He wanted to bash his head against a wall.
Turlough decide to go to the one place where the noise was blocked out at least a little bit.
Turlough got to one of the many hallways that lead to his room, or maybe it wasn’t, all those hallways looked and felt the same, eyeing and every door and every other hallway for his own.
“Ohhhhhh, Ohhhhhhhh”
And there’s the doctor’s room, he’s about to walk past the doctor’s room. Oh god he can hear slapping, two different kinds of slapping. Tegan is screaming and moaning, and the doctor is groaning. It’s very annoying to hear. Turlough can just see the hallway lead to his room just down this hallway, but then he stood in front of the doctor’s door, and it was slightly open. Turlough couldn’t help but try and get a peek. the door then swung open and there stood the doctor. stark naked and drenched in sweat.
“Hello turlough, can I help you with anything”. the doctor said completely nonchalant.
“No…. I”. turlough saw Tegan on the bed also completely naked, huffing and puffing trying to catch her breath. “Hey turlough”. She said not giving one solitary damn that he could see her.
The doctor wore a yellow washing up glove for some reason, whatever that reason was, he did not want to know. “Would you like to finish her off for me”. The doctor whispered.
Turlough quickly shook his head. “No thank you”.
“Alright, I’ll talk to you” the doctor said closing the door.
“See ya turlough”. Tegan said as the door shut.
Turlough couldn’t believe that that just happened but whatever.
He shut his bedroom door behind him and threw himself on his bed and signed. He hoped this noise would end as soon it could so they could land somewhere.
