A Little Life in You Yet

Summary:

A short poem about mythical monsters, identities and intentions.

Basically I took that one line from the show (that's repeated in both seasons!) and ran with it

Two different people in the show say the line - for quite different reasons - so I kept things vague enough that you can decide who the poem is about.

Work Text:

I'm not a fucking mermaid
Tail winking through glittering depths
Not a siren
Casting a net of notes to lure you close
Not a fairy
Sparkling wings with a vicious bite
Not a werewolf
Fur bursting from ravening body
Not a vampire
Pearly fangs against your soft neck
Not a witch
Burning herbs for a secret spell

But I will take hold of your heart
Sink my claws into your poor flesh
Lick up your sweet sweat
Taste the heat of your burning blood
And draw you down, down
To your little death
Let me hurt you
I promise
It will be worth it
