"Dem, you have to understand me-" Hawk is cut short by Demetri's voice coming out shrill.
"I dont have to do *anything*! Eli, I already did way more that I had to. I forgave your whole crazy selffinding journey that made you have your villain arc." He huffs from frustration.
Taken back, Hawk opens and closes his mouth like a fish out of water.
His eyes sting, not sure if its from the strain of staring at Demetri for so long or from the upcoming urge to cry.
"... You are right." Hawk's voice barely comes out as a whisper, but to Demetri it rings loud an clear. And something in him breaks at the anxiety of the reply, doubting himself if he has gone too far.
Hawk sits down on the bed, rubbing his sweaty hands on his jeans as he looks anywhere but at his friend. Or former friend?
"I will always be sorry for what I did. To you. To everyone. So much has happened in just the last few years. And I wont ever be able to forget what I did. That this is a part of me now..." Hawk's hand wanders to his scar, his fingers fidget nervously. "I dont know who I am anymore. What I want. I only know that I cant forgive myself for what I did, no matter that we made up."
Demetri grabs the restless hand of his friend. "I can help you with that. You dont have to go through this alone."
"I broke your fucking arm! I literally hunted you for sports! And you took me back eothout fucking questions..." Salty tears form in Hawk's eyes, threating to pour down.
"I dont deserve it to stay by your side like nothing happend. This isnt a happily ever after." He scoffs. Then flinches as Demetri puts his other hand against his cheek, still holding his hand with the other.
"Then take responsibility. If you cant stay with me, because you feel guilty... stay with me, to make up for it. Because, Eli, i need you."
Demetri whimpers in the end, pushing his forehead against Hawk's as he kneals infront of him. Their fingers are interlaced, their faces red and wet from tears and agitation.
"I need you. You are my person."
