Aleksander was hosting a party for his nephew, who was having an official marriage contract ceremony. His older sister’s son, Malyen, was going to marry an orphan who had been raised by her aunt Ana, even though he knew the girl had been the daughter of one of his soldiers. Malyen wouldn’t likely gain much in this marriage but Ulla was happy, so he was fine with hosting the party.
He remembered his wife, Luda, and how happy they had been to marry. He never thought about remarrying because losing Luda in an attack five years ago had been difficult.
Malyen was his heir for now and was only 18 years younger. He liked his nephew but was not very close to him. Ulla had married young and gotten pregnant right away.
He watches as guests arrive at his home. Ivan stands guard nearby in case of an emergency. He sees his sister, Ulla, so he goes to greet her.
He gives her a kiss on the cheek and tells her, “You must be very proud of your son.”
Ulla beams. “I am. He is a fine boy. Alina is a sweet girl. You will like her. She will make a good mob wife. She is very kind and pretty. Malyen likes her. “
Aleksander nods “I am sure I will Ulla. Mother is looking for you.”
Ulla makes a face “I will go find her.”
Aleksander waits leaning against the wall. He checks his watch. Maylyn should be here. He er a ear and he turns to see the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. She has black hair and dark brown eyes. She lights up the room like a sunbeam. He has never seen her before. He moves towards her. He does not even feel that his legs are moving him. She smiles at him. She makes him feel like the only person in the world.
He greets her. “I am Aleksander Morozova. Who might you be?”
She smiles. “Oh my gosh! I am so excited to meet you. My name is Alina. You're Mal’s uncle, right?”
He freezes and thinks this is the girl his nephew is going to marry. She is breathtaking.
He nods “You are more lovely than I have been told. Are you excited to become part of the family?”
The woman smiles. “I am. I am so excited to be part of the family. Mal has told me all about you.”
He grimaces “Has he? Is your aunt here? I wanted to talk to her about the contract before it is signed.”
Alina grins, “Of Course, I will grab her.”
He places his hand gently on her shoulder “Tell you aunt to meet me in my office.”
Alina smiles, “Of course.’
Alina walks around the house looking for her aunt. Aleksander goes to his second Ivan. He looks at him.
“There is a change of plans.”
Ivan looks surprised and asks “What do you need?”
Aleksander looks towards where Alina has gone. “I want Fedoyr to guard the girl. I need you to come with me. I am going to change the contract. I will marry her instead.”
Ivan's face flinches “Are you sure Boss? Ulla will not like this. Malyen either.”
Aleksander nods “I need a wife. That girl will be my wife. Her Aunt will meet us in my office. I will tell her of her niece’s good fortune and hers now. Her niece will be the wife of the Pakhan, That is the greatest honor she can have. Malyen has had an easy life. He can find another girl. One that will add to our empire. I need an heir. Alina will be able to provide me with that. “
Ivan follows Aleksander to his office and they wait for Alina’s aunt and quickly has Ivan make the changes on the marriage contract before Ana Kuya walks in.
Aleksander smiles “I am so happy for your niece to join my family. I do need to tell you there has been a change in the marriage contract.”
The woman looks annoyed. “Alina wants to wait to get married til her classes are over. Does Malyen want to move the date forward? She will be disappointed.”
Alkesander smirks, “I am going to make sure Alina finishes her studies. The date will stay the same. I will say you are going to get a sizable donation for the charity you run. It helps war orphans get food and education.”
Ana covers her mouth in shock. “Malyen is such a good boy to think to help my charity,”
Aleksander taps his fingers “You need to know that Alina is going to be treated very well. I will not stand for her mistreatment but she will have more responsibilities now since she will be my wife instead of Malyen. It will improve your family's status and I will protect Alina with my wife. I need a queen and someone to carry my heirs. Alina is going to be that person.”
Ana Kuya's face turns pale. “She cares for Mal. She will be devastated!”
He smirks “She will be moving up. The wife of the Pakahn is a promotion.”
Ana Kuya asks, “Why?”
He growls, “I am not to be questioned but I will allow this once since we are to be family. I want her. She would be wasted on my nephew. Alina will learn this is for the best. I need you to bring her to my office to sign the contract. Do not tell her. I will do it.”
He glares at the woman as he dismisses her. He looks to Ivan and tells him to follow her. This woman better follow his orders or he would hate for Alina to lose her dear aunt.
