Work Text:

Cody couldn't believe it. 13 years in this house and now its going to be left behind. His things are in boxes and his parents are putting stuff in the moving van. he wasn't even told beforehand. Cody ran to Noah's house on the corner of the block and frantically knocked on his door.

"yes," Noah asked exasperated until he saw Cody in tears. he quickly ran to hug Noah and confused him even more.

"dude are you ok?" noah inquired worried.

"m-my parents are forcing us to move all the way New Mexico!" Cody wailed into Noah's shoulder. Noah felt Cody grip on him harder.

"hey, it won't be all bad" Noah tried to reassure Cody.

"they're taking away my phone and keeping me homeschooled!" cody countered back.

Noah just hugged him and took him inside to show him something. as cody walked into his room he found a present nicely wrapped on Noah's bed.

"I was going to give a bigger present when it was your birthday, but I only have this now and I want you to have it because I might never see you again."

Noah was awkwardly smiling and Cody cracked a small grin at him. Cody hugged him tightly and took the gift.

     "thank you Noah!"

"mhm, just don't open it until you get to your new place."

Cody nodded and grabbed Noah's hand and dragged him out of his house and made a run for his house, forcing Noah to also run. Noah scowled and when they reached Cody's house he was gasping for air. Cody could here his parents call for him and they looked each other in the eyes knowing this may very well be the last time they saw each other.

Cody kissed Noah softly and laced his hands around Noah's neck as Noah blushed. they layed their heads together and looked each other in the eyes. words didn't need to be spoken as they stood intertwined for a fleeting moment.  In that moment, it really was just the two of them. they were the only beings that mattered; and love only belonged to them. in that instant, a euphoric feeling took place that the both of them got the pleasure to know, a high that could never be topped, and the cause of rushing blood and frantically running thoughts. the feeling was almost overwhelming with its presence but even if it did overwhelm the two couldn't find it in themselves to worry about it. too much was needed to say, but they didn't have the time.

Cody broke away from Noah and grabbed his cheeks. "I...I love you noah, and I will always think of you. you may not realize it, but you are the sun, my day, both my muse and my poet. wherever you go, know that you will be the reason for laughter and smiles. I love you so much." Cody
pressed a kiss to his Noah and went into his house. Noah stood in shock processing what conversed when he saw Cody get into the moving truck and heard the car engine start.

the truck pulled out from the driveway with Cody. the car passed him and Cody waved at him one last time before it set off in the distance. Noah stood still for a few seconds staring at the truck leaving. A frown fell on his face and he went to his house.
