Chapter Text
Kyoto was governed by the Yokai Faction’s leader, Yasaka. With her permission, Akeno and Cain created a town together in the north of Kyoto, which became their territory. The Himejima Clan were one of the Five Principal Clans and allies of the Yokai Faction and protected Kyoto in Yasaka’s absence. She rewarded Akeno and Cain by giving them their own territory.
Akeno and Cain’s residence was a huge modern mansion at the top of the steep road, which takes ten minutes to arrive by foot.
A huge mountain was on one side. A long road was constructed next to their house, which led to the Himejima Shrine where Akeno works part time. The huge steps were cumbersome but that made it much more rewarding when climbing them. For those unable or prefer to take alternative routes, elevators were in operation.
Surrounding them on both sides of the streets were orchards of apples and oranges, which became their family owned business. When they gather enough fruit, they would sell it to local farms, like the one further down the street from where they lived. Many houses were also built and were quickly filled up with happy families.
Fifteen years have gone by since then and the house Cain and Akeno built welcomed two lovely additions to their family.
Amelie Himejima, 15. Arakiel Himejima, 12.
Amelie and Arakiel were born as hybrids of Pure Angel of the Old Testament, Fallen Angel and Human. The combination of these beautiful genes created a brand new race that no one saw coming…
They became Platinum Angels.
Their evolution was unknown but exciting.
The two attended Kuoh Academy which Amelie attended the High School Branch with Arakiel attending the Middle School Branch. Although in separate faculties, they always travelled together.
Amelie grew tall at a young age and matched her mother’s height when she was 12 and often held her in the air through playing. It was surreal to see the roles reversal when Akeno would often lift her high into the air through playing, no one would have guessed the roles would reverse before she became a teenager. Amelie always had been playful, whether it be online video games or board games with her family. When she was elected as the Student Council President in High School, she did attempt to act more demure and ladylike to meet expectations of her admirers… but struggled.
Arakiel had dark afro hair like his dad, and silky flowing highlights like his mother, that rested on top of his afro. He looked up to both his parents although gets bashful whenever Akeno and Amelie spoil him. When he was a toddler he once said he wanted to marry his mum, which she recorded, much to his embarrassment! Now, he wants to have a family of his own and become a man worthy of looking after his girlfriend/partner/wife, no matter who they are or what number. He’s been taking lessons how to cook… so far, it’s a struggle. Although, he can cook burgers.
The two siblings left Kuoh campus together, as Arakiel sighed.
“What’s wrong, Arachan? Got a bad stomach?”
Amelie, 6 foot 1, looked down at her brother, 5 foot 3.
“No Sis… I just want to grow wings soon, like you, Mum and Dad.”
“Ah…”
Amelie, for all her playfulness, was a genius. When she was 10 years old and training with her dad, two large wings grew from her back. They were transparent at best, almost as if they were reflecting the purity and brightness of the sky and heavens. Everyone likened this to the feeling of Christmas, including the supporting younger brother.
Two years gone by and Arakiel still showed no signs of growing his own wings. It was becoming a bit of a complex for him considering how young Amelie was when her wings first appeared.
“I try to do all kinds of good deeds, but no matter what I do, I can’t seem to grow them… am I doing something wrong?”
“Don’t be silly!” Amelie wrapped her arm around her brother, giving him a comforting pat. “We do what we can and when we can. No humans are the same, right? This applies to angels too.”
“Yeah, I guess…”
Arakiel smiled weakly, he was starting to feel a little better.
“Besides, I’m jealous of your ability.”
“Hm? Oh… this…”
Amelie pointed towards the ring around Arakiel’s middle finger. Not quite a Sacred Gear, it was a weapon that only Arakiel could use. It was crafted specially for Arakiel to control his unique ability.
He called this weapon “Platinum Bonds”.
<<Platinum Bonds: Open>>
A huge hologram shone upwards, displayed several figures like a deck of cards. Inside these deck of cards were figures of people in chibi form. He scrolled through them all with a tap of his finger, a few them were ‘ranked” on a scale from 1 star (the lowest) to 5 stars (the highest). All the chibis in this deck were those he bonded with.
Platinum Bonds Deck:
Akeno Himejima – 5 Stars
Amelie Himejima – 5 Stars
Shuri Himejima – 4 Stars
Asia Argento – 3 Stars
Gabriel – 3 Stars
Iggy – 3 Stars
Irina Shidou – 3 Stars

Sona Sitri – 1 Star
“Hehehe, I see the only people you’ve maxed out are your beloved sister and Mum! And you reached 4 stars with Nana.”
She delightfully stroked his hair.
For whatever reason, despite having close bonds with men as well, this ability only applied to ladies, hence why Cain, his own father, was not part of his special deck.
“You three are family. If I sync more with Nan, I may be able to increase our bonds to maximise her...”
“There’s no need to rush it, you’re still only 12.”
“Ugh, you say that every time…”
Just then, the two stopped alarmingly.
“Do you feel that…Arachan?”
“Yeah… is this?”
“Indeed it is!” Amelie beamed. “Someone needs your help!!”
The feeling of being yearned for… Cain and Amelie had experienced this countless of times, but Arakiel was experiencing this for the first time. The desire of feeling wanted.
“Well, what are you waiting for? Go answer their call!”
“Right!”
Drawing a large circle in his hands, Arakiel plunged forward, answering the call.
