Chapter Text

[Meg's POV]

I was walking out of my office after a long stream when I heard a few gasps from our bedroom.

I burst in the room, expecting to see my boyfriend lying on the ground or being choked by a murderer, but instead he was sitting on the bed, gasping for air.

"Meg-," Gavin could barely talk.

"Oh my god, what's wrong, Gav?"

He pointed to his lungs, "They hurt, they hurt real bad."

I went to the bathroom and poured him a glass of water, which he slowly drank.

When he could talk again I asked him, "Why do your lungs hurt?"

"I don't know," he was tearing up now, "I mean, my lungs have never felt great since around the time I moved to Texas, but I believed that was due to the climate change I went through. Then today during the Play Pals recording session," he took a sip of his water, "I had a freak accident like the one I just did. I was just laughing and then I couldn't breathe. I don't know what's happening, Meg."

I processed this for a minute.

"Was Michael the only person you talked to today?"

"Well, no. I joined in on a conversation with Trevor and Geoff while I waited for Michael to be ready to film. The conversation was quite boring, I just needed something to do while I waited and they were the only ones in the office. Most everyone else had gone by the time I got to work, since I only had to be there in the afternoon and most people only had to be there in the morning."

I wonder if he's got it. If Michael gave it to him. It wouldn't be Geoff, Gavin sees him as a father figure. And it wouldn't be Trevor, Gavin rarely talks about him.

"Ok, I'm going to set a doctor's appointment for you this week so we can see what's wrong. After, I'm going to go make us some chicken noodle soup, sound good?"

"That does sound good. Thanks, love."

"No problem, Gav."
