Steve was at his breaking point.
Because this guy just wouldn’t take the fucking hint.
Or Steve suspected he did, but he wanted to push and take Steve’s place. Which was laughable because there was no way that was happening.
Alex . Eddie’s prick of an ex boyfriend. He’d moved back to Hawkins and had latched on to Eddie again.
At first, Steve had thought nothing of it. Eddie and Alex had never seriously dated. Eddie told him it had been casual. And they’d broken it off amicably when Alex had moved away. So Steve didn’t really care. He was still friendly with Nancy, so why couldn’t Eddie be friendly with Alex?
But then Steve had noticed things. Things like Alex standing a bit too close to Eddie at hang outs. Alex’s hand hovering over the small of Eddie’s back. Alex using any excuse to touch and play with Eddie’s hair or look at his rings or run his hands over Eddie’s battle vest.
And Eddie. Poor, sweet, oblivious Eddie, didn’t notice any of it. Steve had mentioned it in passing to him once, but Eddie had waved it off and laughed and teased Steve, telling him he had nothing to be jealous of because Steve was the only person on his mind. And Steve knew this. Of course he trusted Eddie with his life. He just didn’t trust Alex one bit.
The thing that did it was Alex waving goodbye to everyone else at this small party (get together more like - hosted at Steve’s house no less) but gripping Eddie’s hand, pulling him in for a tight hug, and then smirking at Steve across Eddie’s shoulder.
Steve marched on over, but by the time he reached Eddie, Alex had stepped out through the front door.
“I hate him,” Steve seethed.
“What?” Eddie laughed. “Steve, I told you, you have nothing to worry about.” He cupped Steve’s face and gave him a long kiss. “Why on earth would I go after him when I have you?”
“He wants you back, Eddie,” Steve said. “He’s always making an excuse to touch you. He smirked at me just now when he hugged you!”
“Well next time, why don’t you show him who I belong to,” Eddie murmured in his ear.
And okay. Steve could do that.
Corroded Coffin was performing at The Hideout tonight, and everybody was going to be here, including Alex.
Steve was going to make sure that he got the message this time. Eddie was Steve’s boyfriend, and there was nothing Alex could do that would change that.
Eddie was all dressed up to perform, signature eyeliner, cropped band tee, and jeans ripped to hell, with a chain hanging from the side. Steve had helped him with his hair, applying some product to make it all nice and voluminous, and then even spritzed some of his own perfume on Eddie. He looked good.
Steve couldn’t wait to see him on stage. It was a packed night tonight - Eddie’s notoriety after last spring had attracted more fans - and it made Steve feel so proud. Seeing Eddie adored and appreciated for his craft.
He was leaned up against the bartop, waiting for Ernie, the bartender, to finish pouring the two beers he’d ordered. Eddie was near the stage, helping set up the equipment. Steve’s eyes wandered over his body, taking a moment (or two or three) to appreciate Eddie. His biceps flexed as he lifted drums and other instruments, and it made Steve’s cock twitch.
“You keeping a tab open?” Ernie asked him, setting the beers down next to Steve’s arm.
“Sure, yeah,” Steve replied as he lifted the drinks. “Cash.” But as he turned around to go over to Eddie, his mood soured.
Alex had shown up, dressed very similarly to Eddie - ripped jeans and band tee - as if that would make Eddie care.
Eddie salivated over Steve when he wore his polos, so.
Alex had sidled up really close to Eddie, their fingers brushing as he took the mic stand from Eddie’s hand and set it down in the center of the stage. Steve was close enough now to hear what they were talking about.
“You’ve put on some muscle, man,” Alex said, reaching out to squeeze Eddie’s arms. “Looks really good.”
Now one of Steve’s favorite things about Eddie was how kind he was. It was the little things, like him offering to hang out with Max when her mom would leave her alone for days at a time, or filling up Wayne’s gas tank without Wayne even saying anything, or helping an older lady who had dropped all her bags in the grocery store parking lot. He very rarely got mean.
But now, Steve wished Eddie’s mean side would come out and just, do something ! Like yell or smack Alex’s hand away.
But his poor, oblivious, kind , boyfriend just gave a small smile, said thanks, and continued loading equipment onto the stage.
Steve cleared his throat as he got up onto the stage, handing Eddie his beer.
“Thank you, sweetheart,” Eddie grinned, taking a big gulp and setting it on the ground.
“Steve!” Alex said. “Didn’t know you were going to be here tonight. Doesn’t really seem like your scene.”
Steve tried to suppress a glare. “I’m here for Eddie.”
“Oh, of course,” Alex replied. “Yeah I’m here for Eddie, too.” He turned to smile at Eddie. “I’ve always loved your music, Eds.”
“Okay!” Eddie exclaimed, clapping his hands together, because Steve was sure he looked like he was five seconds away from committing murder. “Sorry, guys, it’s time to get off the stage, we’re gonna be starting soon.”
“Sure thing. Good luck,” Alex said walking off, but not without smirking in Steve’s direction as Eddie’s back was turned.
Eddie turned to Steve, an apologetic grimace on his face. “You want me to ask security to kick him out?”
Instead of answering, Steve grabbed Eddie’s hand and pulled him off to the side where they were obscured by the wall. Once out of sight, he kissed Eddie hard. “No,” Steve replied. “No, I’m going to show him. Just wait.”
Eddie seemed a little dazed from the kiss. “I am so turned on right now.”
Steve grinned. “Oh, really?”
“Yeah,” Eddie nodded, breathless, then: “I have a surprise for you later.”
His grin widened. He loved when Eddie played with him like this. “Don’t tease me, baby, I might just kidnap you and get out of here right now.”
“And leave all my fans waiting?” Eddie laughed.
“They’ll live.”
Eddie wrapped his arms around Steve’s neck, giving him a sweet, slow kiss. “Wish me luck?”
Steve loved him. “Good luck, baby.”
Eddie gave him one more peck before rushing back to the stage.
Steve grabbed his beer from where he’d haphazardly set it on the ground. Half of it had spilled. He drained the rest and headed back out, securing a spot front and center to watch the performance. He didn’t see Alex anywhere, but he didn’t care at the moment. The only thing on his mind right now was Eddie.
Steve had, of course, seen Corroded Coffin perform countless times. It wasn’t his type of music, but nothing beat the feeling of live music, no matter what kind it was. And Eddie was always so electric during their performances - it didn’t matter how big the crowd was - that Steve always had a good time.
Tonight was no different.
Eddie’s energy was contagious, and the packed bar was buzzing and jamming out to the music. He was so happy on the stage, and Steve was happy seeing him. It was a bit jarring sometimes, when Steve remembered how frail and on the verge of death, Eddie had been almost a year ago. He could never have imagined that Eddie as the one jamming out in front of him right now. The thought always made Steve hold Eddie closer at night, afraid that if he loosened his grip just a bit, some horrible thing would come take him away again.
Steve shook himself out of those thoughts and looked back up at Eddie, only to see Eddie already looking at him. Eddie grinned and winked, and Steve sent him a subtle kiss back.
Corroded Coffin finished up their last song of the night to loud cheers. Eddie let out once last yell, smiling at the crowd. “Thank you everybody that drove out to see us! That’s a wrap!”
The stage lights dimmed as the crowd let out one last cheer. Steve made his way over to the steps on the side of the stage where Eddie was climbing down and shaking his hair out of his face.
“Eddie!”
Steve saw red as Alex ran over and pulled Eddie into a hug before kissing him on the side of the mouth . Eddie took a quick step back, shocked at what just happened, and bumping into Steve, who’d finally reached them. Steve’s hand slipped around Eddie’s waist; it was still pretty dim inside The Hideout so Steve wasn’t worried about the wrong person seeing them, he just needed Alex to see.
“Excuse us,” Steve growled, his grip tightening. Eddie glanced back at him, mouth twisting into a smile.
“Hey, baby,” he breathed out.
“Eddie can I talk to you about -” Alex tried, but Steve was already pushing past him without another word, pulling Eddie towards the restrooms.
Eddie’s lips were on him the second they made it to the back hallway. “God, I love you,” he said in between kisses.
Steve shoved him into the men’s room, not bothering to break their kiss as he walked Eddie backwards into the biggest stall and locked it. He attacked Eddie’s neck, nipping and then soothing with kisses. Eddie was making so much noise, Steve was sure they could hear him outside, and he smirked at the thought. Good. He wanted everyone to know.
He palmed at Eddie’s crotch, earning him another loud moan and a breathy, “Please, Steve.”
Steve kissed him. “Patience, baby.” He squeezed a bit, making Eddie’s nails dig into his shoulders. “All this and nowhere to put it, huh?”
Eddie nodded, eyes scrunched up and breathless when they’d barely done anything yet. Steve loved the rush of power; he was the reason Eddie was like this, and he was the only person that got to see him this way.
He mouthed at Eddie’s ear, knowing it was a sensitive spot for him, then his cheek, and finally kissed his lips again. It was like coming home. Eddie has such plump lips, it was so fun to kiss him and bite and suck and pull. Eddie pulled him closer, if that was even possible - they were basically glued together at this point - and ran his hands up and down Steve’s arms, squeezing his biceps before wrapping his arms around Steve’s neck.
“Need you,” he whispered.
“You got me, baby,” Steve murmured against his lips. He reached down and started unbuckling Eddie’s pants. “Only me.” He shoved Eddie’s jeans and boxers down below his asscheeks, and turned him around, pushing him face first into the stall door.
Steve had to stop and take a moment to look at Eddie like this, shirt half way off, ass bare, eyes misty as he looked back at Steve. He looked ethereal.
Pressing himself against Eddie’s back, he moved Eddie’s hair to the side so he could kiss his neck. He tasted like sweat and cheap cologne. “You’re a dream, baby, you know that?”
Eddie moaned in response.
Steve squeezed his ass before moving his hand to Eddie’s hole. He found the surprise Eddie had mentioned waiting for him. “Eddie,” he groaned at the plug that Eddie was wearing. “Have you had this in all night?”
Eddie just panted, nodding, his breaths turning into loud moans as Steve played around with the plug, pulling it out slightly and then pushing it back in. “Couldn’t wait for me to open you up… had to do it yourself.”
Steve pulled the plug out, throwing it somewhere off to the side, not caring enough to see where it landed, but making a mental note to grab it later.
He quickly unzipped his own pants, freeing his hard cock and rubbing the tip against Eddie’s hole. “You’re so wet,” Steve groaned. Eddie had used so much lube to open himself up. “Can’t believe you were up on that stage like this.”
“Stop being a tease,” Eddie hissed. “I need - ah - I need you in me already.”
“Don’t be a brat,” Steve said. He thumbed at Eddie’s hole before pushing the tip in. Eddie gasped, hands trying to find purchase on anything. Steve grabbed them in this left hand and pressed them against the stall door above Eddie’s head. “Keep them there.”
He slowly pushed in, reveling in Eddie’s moans. Eddie always felt so good around him, it was intoxicating. Once Steve bottomed out, he paused for a moment, glancing down at the way Eddie clenched around him. It made his mouth water.
Eddie squirmed, arching his back to get Steve a little deeper. Steve laughed at Eddie’s impatience before taking pity. His thrusts started slow before building up to a nice, steady rhythm. The sound of their bodies slapping against each other and their moans was so loud, Steve was sure somebody was going to walk in to see what was going on.
Sure enough, the squeaky door hinges announced someone’s presence.
“Eddie?” The voice called out. It was Alex. Of course it was.
Steve almost laughed. He slipped a hand over Eddie’s mouth before resuming what they were doing. Eddie’s eyes widened before fluttering closed as Steve continued fucking him slowly.
“Eddie, are you in here? I really need to talk to you.” Alex continued, taking a few steps inside the bathroom.
Steve leaned in to whisper in Eddie’s ear: “Do you think he realizes what we’re doing in here?”
Eddie couldn’t stop the moan that escaped him, and even though it was muffled by Steve’s hand, the sound was still very obvious.
Alex’s footsteps stopped. “Eds?” He tried one more time.
When he didn’t get a response, Steve heard him scoff and finally leave, the door slamming a bit louder than necessary. Steve felt victorious.
He removed his hand from Eddie’s mouth and reached down to grab his hips before picking up speed. He pounded into Eddie and kissed whatever inch of skin he could reach. He was close, and from all the teasing earlier, he knew Eddie was too; Eddie’s legs were shaking at this point.
Steve reached around to wrap his fingers around Eddie’s cock and began stroking him.
“Sweetheart, fuck -” Eddie gasped. “Please can I come? I need to come. Shit, Steve.”
Steve turned his head a bit to kiss Eddie’s lips. He felt the buildup in his balls, and if he timed this just right they could -
“Yeah, baby, come for me. I wanna hear you,” Steve breathed.
They both came at the same time, Eddie clenching around Steve as their moans echoed in the bathroom. Eddie’s come painted the stall door, while Steve spilled inside of him.
They came down from the high of the moment together, and Steve kissed Eddie’s shoulder before slowly pulling out of him. Eddie slumped against the door, a sleepy smile on his face. Steve grabbed some toilet paper to help clean up the mess they’d made.
“That was the hottest thing ever,” Eddie sighed, grinning.
Steve kissed him. “You looked so good performing up there, I couldn’t keep my hands to myself.”
“Oh, that’s why, is it?” Eddie raised an eyebrow before letting out a giggle. “I never want you to keep your hands to yourself.”
“Noted,” Steve smiled. “You think Alex finally took the hint?”
Eddie laughed. “Who?”
They clung to each other as they walked back to the bar. A few people came up to Eddie to congratulate him on a great show and tell him they’d be on the lookout for a future album.
Eddie just laughed and told them: “We’ll see.”
The good mood was ruined when Alex walked up to them. He was scowling, face twisted up like he’d eaten a sour lemon.
“Can I talk to you?” he said to Eddie.
Eddie stepped back into Steve’s space, his back bumping into Steve’s chest, seeking his touch. “Sure. You can talk to me right here.”
Alex glanced back at Steve, his mouth opening before he frowned. “There’s no way for me, is there?”
“Nope,” Eddie replied, grinning. His hand gripped Steve’s.
“Right.”
“Bye, Alex.” Steve wiggled his fingers.
Alex just scowled and walked away, defeated.
Eddie turned to Steve and smirked. “Wanna get out of here?”
Steve didn’t need to be asked twice.
